I was wondering why he chose that engine! Where do they shoot at? The Altima putting out 240 would have been more fair of a fight, especially against a Honda 😅.
Interesting, I personally really like the new accord. That’s just my opinion, it just looks grown up imo. I don’t think it’s really all that bad. Then again this is just all opinion based.
@@vinn283 I don't love the styling of the new Accord, especially the front, but I could live with it if they offered the 2.0T or at least a stronger performing Hybrid. However, my parents are looking to replace their aging car and I think the current Accord Hybrid would be perfect for them. They have no sporting aspirations and are looking to maximize fuel savings.
@@a32tl My parents also wanted to replace their old, gas guzzling car with a hybrid as well to maximize MPGs. They ended up getting the prius, which is honestly an amazing car if you want good MPGs. I think the accord hybrid is pretty fast tho is it not? It looks decently fast. Even if they had still offered the 2.0T, I probably wouldn't get it because I don't want turbos. I want reliability. I ended up getting the GR86 for fun car that has no turbos.
I've driven the last 3 generation of the Accord, and while I appreciate the efficiency of the new one, I gotta say, the performance of the V6 and the 2.0T will be missed.
@user-ni1kx4oe9t shut up and aslo so is the camry outdated and the 2.0t would win vs that and the camry is a 6 cylinder and aslo the new camry is gonna be only hybrid and the Honda will win again
You retard the new Camry hybrid will have more power it's a bigger turbo engine it's gonna be faster LOL. The pathetic Nissan Altima 2.5 n/a junker beat the accord on that one roll LMFAO@@rev799
Right they should have used the VC turbo Altima I guess it would have blown the Accord out of the water, so as you can see the Altima is a great acr and now that slow...
I've never seen any of these races w a vc turbo. I've seen the specs and on paper they should actually be on par with the accord 2.0t, I'd like to see if that's true
Just bought a 2024 Camry XSE V6 before they're gone forever. Already put the Magnaflow catback on it and I must say, the 2GR-FKS is a great sounding engine. Nothing beats the feel and sound of a N/A V6. It's pretty damn quick for a 4 door family sedan and been a ton of fun to drive so far.
This wasn’t a fair race! The Accord and Camry has the top spec engines while the Altima has the base engine. This race needs to be done over with an Altima with its top spec engine (2.0 VC-Turbo).
@@miking3261 look up the numbers online since there hasn't been a video on the Altima VC Turbo against the TRD Camry. The Camry has the better numbers. 0-60 for the Camry is 0.1 seconds faster and has the same if not, quicker 1/4 mile time then the Altima VC Turbo
No, they should get the high powerd VC-TURBO Altima this is literally not a fair race. They race the base engine Altima versus the high powered NEW ACCORD and Camry this isn't fair.
Honda completely ruined/nerfed the Accord just to make the TLX look better. They want to force the 2.0t Accord buy to have to pay premium car prices in the TLX to get a prior gen Accord experience.. Very sad. Happy the Korean twins still make fun sedans
Thats why I'm keep my 2018 V6 awd a spec tlx cause the 2020 and newer are 4 cylinders unless u get a type s. Im surprised they never put awd in accords
I must admit, the Accord did better than I thought. It’s pretty quick off the line, which means from a red light it’ll have no problems passing a V6 Camry.
the TRD Camry is 0-60 in 5.5 sec and the hybrid Accord is 0-60 in 6.5 sec? How is the accord passing a TRD at the stoplight? Is my brain missing something????? please educate
Main reason why I purchase a 2.0T powered 2021 Honda accord Touring was due to Samcarlegion endless races. Also enjoyed his review of the Accord as a Dad mobile. It's a shame Honda discontinued it.
@@newciee im not racing anybody in a $35k medium sized sedan (in fact 11th gen accord is pushing on full sized), so id still take the accord over the other two, since itll ride better, quieter, drive more smoothly, and be more spacious. you might lose some reliability from the camry, but honda doesnt slouch on that department either. i also find that the accord looks way less childish, since its not trying to be a sports car like the other two.
Now whenever you can find an Accord 2.0T Sport or Touring. Race that with this TRD and you will see why the Camry was always the second option for me instead of the Accord 2.0T.
This race is not fair at all if we talking power go get the Nissan Altima SR VC-TURBO I really think the Altima got them both. U got the base engine Altima and it seems it did ok for a base engine but go get the VC-TURBO Altima.
@@mikejr7976 couldn't see any videos on RU-vid so I just checked Google and the Accord still outperforms the Altima SR VC-Turbo. The Accord 2.0T Sport does 0-60 in 5.4 seconds and the 1/4 mile at 14.0 while the 0-60 for the Altima SR VC-Turbo is 5.8 seconds with a 14.4-14.3 1/4 mile time. The Camry TRD does a 0-60 time in 5.7 secs beating the Altima and it's 1/4 mile time is 14.3 seconds
I must say. As a person who inherited a Nissan Altima 2001 as my first car. This car took me to school, church, trips around the city, got me my first speeding ticket, and the car I started tinkering under the hood to learn how to fix basic mechanical automotive issues. I got to say, I am appalled at what the Nissan brand, specifically the Altima has come to today. I will NEVER return to Nissan. This was embarrassing to the Altima’s of the past. As far as the Accord is concerned, same thing. How you go from having the performance of the 2.0T down to this? The Camry should have lost to something because it has the oldest technology under the hood in my humble opinion.
@@yasirmk8617xse v6 cost a little more than $40k+. you might as well get a lexus is350 at that point, the TRD is the best bang for your buck for under $40k still
I had a 2023 Camry TRD. Always wanted one. GREAT CAR! You are a very smart buyer if you get one. I sold it and lost no money on it at all. It was just too big for my life style. (No kids or friends) So got a GTI 40th. Another GREAT car.
@@marklatham1414 I owned 3 accords, and I got 30mpg with the V6, and still had plenty of power for that car. They've simply gone a little too far. The problems with pollution have little to do with automobiles and a lot more with consumption. They'll never say anything about that because that would kill the 1% that drive Bugattis and fly in private jets.
the camry trd is a turbo or AWD (or both) away from being perfect. it’s got the good handling, sounds good, looks good, and that toyota reliability. so close to being perfect
If you want a quick Honda you have to pay Acura prices- thats if you want new. The TRD Camry is the best new car under 40k period. Nothing comes close at 37,900 and thats thetop of the line price. The TRD Camry is one hell of a car for that cost.
@@MidnightAspec not really-it is either tied with the TRD or the Camry will beat it by half car. Ive seen many 23-24 TRDs whoooop Accord 2.0tS FROM 2020..
The Accord 2.0T from 2020 does not make short work of the TRD Camry- are you kidding me?? Ive seen it many times no way in hell. Ive owned both and stock to stock the TRD is a better faster car. There many vids on YT that either show the TRD Winning by half car, or the Accord winning by a bumber- literally 2 feet. In real life its usually the TRD by half car minimum...ive had both trust me the TRD is better..
I don't know where did you get those weight numbers from... Accord Touring Hybrid weight according to the official Honda Canada website: 1606kg (3540.6 lb) Camry TRD V6 base curb weight according to the official Toyota Canada website: 1620kg (3571.5 lb) Altima SR AWD weight according to the official Nissan Canada website: 1570kg (3462 lb)
How the hell did that Altima beat the accord in roll races…I’ve driven them as rentals and thought that they were decently quick…I knew that 2.5 was underrated. However, can’t beat the hybrid on launch.
I want to see accord 2.0t vs Nissan 2.0t BAADDDD!! You can hold that at 6k maybe a lil more while the other has to shift 😂! Want both drivers SAME weight so there’s no excuses!! Use a scale if u have to
If I want pure performance I’ll buy a sports car. For my daily driver the Accord Hybrid is amazing. Comfortable, efficient, and quick in the right ways.
Any vehicle that's a V6 will usually look faster than the four cylinder and it will seem like it's faster but in reality when you put out the V6 is against it you'll see how slow that TRD really is. Lmaf 😂
Hey Sam, can we get a drag race on budget (lowest trim model) luxury cars, such as maybe Lexus is300 turbo 4 inline, Acura TLX with its 2.0T, BMW 330i, Cadillac CT4, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Genius G70
the 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine as an option, because it’s not available with all-wheel drive. Instead, all Altima models sold in Canada feature the 188-hp 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit. They do not sell Nissan 2.0t in Canada
Surprised the altima best the accord on that roll. The altima is down over 20hp and has awd powertrain loss. I thought this was going to be the 2.0t altima in the race but canada doesn't have it. Fwd altima wouldve beat the accord on the other roll race. Why is the hmguy so mad the altima was holding redline? It was much more quiet than the accord and it also held redline smh...
Nobody buys a V6 for fuel efficiency, we buy for performance. In buying my car now I test drove a V4 XSE which was beautiful visually, but after driving a V6 XLE I couldn’t buy the V4. I love how the V6 drives. And if they don’t have a V6 Camry then this is probably the last one I’ll ever have.
Was looking at getting a new 2023 accord until I found out there is no 2.0T anymore. I'm glad I was able to find I nice lightly used 2019 Touring 2.0T with only 5K miles one it. I'm not sure what Honda was thinking. The 11th gen is kinda bland looking also. My opinion.
@@vintagetriplex3728 i don't care if the people who buy Hondas don't care, we know it's an appliance that conveys people from point A to B but it's a step down from the previous generation of the 2.0T
It would be great if we could see the preview of the gauges. Especially with hybrids it'll show how they manage their batteries during pulls and in between them
Everybody here crying about the accord 2.0. No one cares, noone bought them because they are not performance cars, they are fwd family sedans and the fact that an camry will slightly pull on a accord matters to noone. It's not fast enough to offer anything significant you can feel from the driver's seat, just a slow walk away from a other slow car. The accords, damping, weight transfer, balance, fuel economy, steering feel and everything else that people care about is still baked into an accord for free, no one cars about that extra half second that the camry is slightly faster. If that's your priority you shouldn't be looking at this class of cars anyway as there is nothing sporty about any of them. Especially a front wheel drive Toyota with a park bench of a spoiler to add downforce to the wrong wheels
I would buy a Camry TRD, if I could get over that ugly (imo) rear wing spoiler. That thing has no business on this car. I wish it would have used the Avalon TRD spoiler.
@0to60_ The TRD sport tuned suspension is missing there though. Maybe a full deck lid switch with a wrecked XSE or someone who wants the TRD wing on their XSE could be arranged. 🤷🏽
@@wbwayne8887 Right, "sport" tuned suspension 😂 ... So you can hit those hair-pin turns in the grocery store parking lot after picking up the kids from soccer practice lol
When you install a D3 performance upgrade in the TRD Camry, its performance significantly improves. (You're unleashing the beast). Mine had its speed limiter removed.
Why race last gen Camry and not current gen. If you race the V6 Camry it’s only fair to race the last gen accord 2.0. But we already know that’s quicker car according to throttle house
Here in Canada for 2024, the only big FWD sedan with a decent engine available is the Sonata N-line with the 2.5T. Maxima is gone, Altima 2.0T is gone, the Accord is hybrid only and the Camry will be hybrid only.
Remember- Hyndais and Kias - dont know how to spell hyndai dont really give a rip- are cheap short term speed options. BUT- you will be wrenching and spending a shit ton of money on stupid repairs as the car puts miles on it. Hyndais are not the best quality reliable cars and everyone knows it. They put power in them but they can barely take that power for much time. The Toyota and Honda are always waaaaaaayyyyy better options and I mean way better. There is a reason almost every master mechanic says to stay away from HyndaIS- or whatever the hell you call them. Ive seen horrible repairs needed within warranty on those POS's
That Accord did pretty well considering it's down 100hp compared to the Camry. Was expecting the Camry to totally destroy the Accord right off the line but surprisingly the Accord actually pull a car length on the Camry V6 for a brief moment.
Did you see the difference between the first race between the Accord and Altima and the third race? This is a feature of the CVT transmission. I used it in my previous car, the Accord 1.5 Turbo, and the difference between them is huge in acceleration.. drive the car full throttle At low speeds or 0 in a place of water or dirt and the traction is running the computer will change its gears programming
