Today I drive and review a 2021 Chevy 1500 RST! Chevy Inventory: www.larryhmillerchevroletprov... My Car Build/Mod Channel: / @tronautolab Second Channel: / @thebenhardyshow Instagram: ben_hardypl Facebook: @benhardycar
All the so-called professional reviews (Car and Driver, Motortrend, etc...) all complain about the Silverado's "cheap" interior materials, but I don't think its that big of a difference from the RAM or F-150.
Aside from moving some buttons around and a few more gadgets like auto tailgate ( no thanks). It looks very much like my 2015 LTZ cheaper looking in some aspects. Why no blinkers on the side mirrors?
The Silverado may be a little slower off the line I agree with that I have to driving all three , but it'll smoke the Ford and the Dodge on the highway
Have a 2020 RST same colour, xtended cab and 3.0 Duramax. Only regrets; I have the 18" wheels should have taken the 20" and the crew cab. Duramax is awesome with fuel mileage and power. I'm surprise about the harsher ride you talk about, I have the Z71 suspension and I find this truck very quiet and comfortable. Anyway, my 2 cents.
I made my first purchase based off of him, bought a new 2020 Ram 1500 Bighorn (off-road package, 3.92 gears and just the hemi engine). Thing is, i’m still in HS, but she’s a beast. Only downside is the gas mileage, not a fan of putting in $60/week
@@angelf9800 Well it depends on what you exactly want really. Are you looking for an offroad version, a base model, or perhaps sporty variant? If it's an offroad version, it's pretty self-explanatory, you should be looking at an AT4, Z71, or TrailBoss. If its a luxury version, I'd either be looking at a RAM, possibly Ford or waiting till the GM trucks get their refresh. This Silverado RST basically is an upgraded appearance trim to make the truck look a little more sporty. The GMC AT4 is the offroad version of the Sierra, which would be the equivalent to the Z71 package from Chevy, or maybe even the Trailboss. Personally, exterior styling wise I prefer the Silverado looks a lot more. However, they're both from GM, so there really isn't much difference between the 2.
I just bought this truck but it's a 2022. Due to the chip shortage I can't use the heated steering wheel, seats and the front and rear sensors. WTF GM?
@@williamfreeman8349 trailer towing capacity info is on the door jamb placard on each truck. It can also be checked by VIN # on GMs trailering website.
@@blackagat2241 yep that is correct the one a dealer wanted to sell me for 44,500 plus taxes did not have the spray on bead liner and the wheel fenders were not protected with plastic coating
I would certainly give up some "power for reliability", but haven't there been problems with direct injection and cylinder deactivation (carbon coated valves, snapped lifters, etc.)? Did they figure out the horrendous transmission issues? Has the new ATF fluid stopped the slamming and water accumulation? Also heard of brand new models draining batteries for reasons dealers can't figure out. Honestly, I'd love to buy GM. Just don't want to play Russian Roulette with $50grand.
How do u like that 6.2? I’m gonna buy a truck next year and I’m super on the fence ab which engine. The 5.3 is tried and true and in all reality all I’ll ever NEED. But I cannot help but want that 6.2 so bad. Is it worth it?
@@icu_corey_rn_903 your in the same boat I was in 2018. I wanted the 6.2 but just couldn't find one. I bought a 2018 Silverado LTZ Redline with the 5.3. it was a great truck and I had zero issues with it. The 5.3 is a great engine but in the back of my mind I really wanted the 6.2. I finally got the chance when a 2020 Trail Boss LT came into my local dealer and they were and still are hard to find. I love the 6.2, it's a world of difference from the 5.3. of course the 10 speed helps also.
@@RobertoRomero-yr3id Sure do. Gas prices are always fluctuating. I knew that when I bought it. Gas mileage between the 5.3 I had and the 6.2 I have now are so close that it makes zero difference to me.
@@dubltap7216 makes sense brother. I just wanted to see someone’s thoughts on bigger engine with gas prices going up. I just bought a 2019 rst with 5.3, in future I might consider the 6.2 depending where things go
Bro….slow….down…..5.3literv8withaasparatedengine146lbftoftourque…… I appreciate your enthusiasm but dang…lol it’s all good. Nice video. Just had to laugh because I couldn’t hardly keep up. 😂
@@edwardstein9741 nice! Congrats man! It’s a great truck. 25-30mpg consistently and enough power and torque to break traction at the lights, and pull just about anything.
Personally when i bought my Silverado i denied four other Silverado’s based purely on the fact that they all had over 100 miles on them... i Dont think people want to buy a truck that twenty people have test driven! Stop driving trucks that you are selling! Have a designated test vehicle from each model! 1500 2500 ect
"Is This The Silverado To Get???" No, because it's still ugly. The 2019 LD was the last of the Chevy trucks I could stand to look at. I been a long time Chevy customer, not anymore. Especially after the whole 2035 announcement. Not cool.
So pretty much what Ford is doing with the new F-150 and have been doing for a while with the "new" Ranger that's been around since 2011... And customers are pretty happy with the Tundra that's almost 14 years old.
GM doesnt believe they can, They know they can! Look at last years sales numbers even... GM out sold both RAM and Ford, with their basic 2014 interiors... So I'm not sure what your meaning exactly...
Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.
It breaks down 5 months after I got it brand new.Ever time I took to the dealership I'll get it and it break again and again. I have over 100 thousand miles and it away read low oil add oil and they don't know why.they just say don't worry I have oil in the truck.
