Poco tenemos que añadir acerca de Dave Weckl. Él es historia viva de la música y de la batería y tuvimos la suerte de tenerlo de nuevo en nuestro festival.
Es genial poder tener en el TamTam DrumFest a las nuevas generaciones de bateristas, pero poder disfrutar de las leyendas, es todo esto un regalo. Weckl demostró el por qué es uno de los mayores referentes de todos los tiempos de nuestro instrumento y sin duda, está tocando mejor que nunca.
Gracias Dave por esta inolvidable actuación.

We have little to say about Dave Weckl, the living history of music and drums who came through our festival again.
It is great to bring the new generations, but it is also important to dive into the foundations of the instrument. Weckl proved why he is one of the greatest drum referents of all our times.
What we can assure is that he is playing better than ever.
Thank’s a lot Dave for this unforgettable show.

Great Interview TTM. Every tune/song has a real comfortable tempo that can become uncomfortable when the tempo is slightly raised or lowered resulting in a piece that will never feel right. Playing live without a click normally leads to the piece being way to fast either because of the nerves or adrenaline felt by the guy counting off the tune, so I always insist on counting the tune off myself. I've had a few band leaders way back who insisted on giving the count off, they couldn't even count to 4 without having varying gaps between the 1 2 3&4, never precise. There are so many musicians out there that play real good but their timing is all over the place purely because they may be playing with a not so spot on drummer, or they never themselves practice to a click because they think it's only drummers who need to develop time. Wrong. I remember in my early days I was with a prog rock band, musically we were real tight in the bedroom but on a gig different story. We had a 50 minute set which we performed in 41 minutes due to the band leaders nerves/adrenaline, he insisted on giving the count off, it was embarrassing. Hopefully we will be able to see here on YT some of Dave's Tam Tam performances. Looking well Dave.
