Today I review a 2021 Ford Bronco Base! Ford Inventory: www.larryhmill... Help Support The Channel: www.patreon.co... Second Channel: / @thebenhardyshow Instagram: ben_hardypl Facebook: @benhardycar
I'd take the base, then take the money saved and use it to mod/customize the vehicle myself. Appreciate having the option to not pay for a crap ton of useless electronics and luxuries.
I ordered a manual 2door base last july in Silver with modular bumper LAST July it is finally built April 1, 2022.Shipping soon. Anyone want ?? Cos I don’t.
@@shopuemule8761 Same I’m looking at this for my first car and i saw a blacked out one w some wheels and tint it was looking good i don’t know if I really want the manual tho 😢
My question was answered 5 comments down from my own lol. Base model will have the stick. Is it a 7 Speed(Crawl Gear), or is it downgraded to just a common 6 speed?
I actually like to base model the best! I'm getting mine with the HD bumper, brush guard and aux switches, nothing more. I will never rock crawl and not into the huge tire look, this is one sweet Bronco.
The base model is going meet to off-roading needs of most people. Probably a large majority of trails one comes across, the base model with handle no problem, if you know how to drive offroad. For more intense terrain (which is not going to be of interest to most folks anyway), there are 3 offroad features you really want in the higher trims (in order of importance): 1) 35" Tires, 2) Front / rear differential lockers, 3) sway bar disconnect. #3 is really more of a "nice to have", and you have to go up to Badlands or another high trim to get it. #1,#2 you get with the Sasquach package, which can be added to any trim, including base.
Base model with Squatch is the way to go; adds lockers front and rear and bypass valve shocks, 35 Mt’s with beadlock capable wheels. Only $4900 more, guarantee you can’t add all that in the aftermarket for that price
If you want the best off-roading bronco at the lowest possible price, Base + Sasquatch is the way to go. There are a lot of cool bells and whistles you don't get with the base, but I personally don't care for that stuff too much. I've got my 2-door base sasquatch with 2.7L engine on order!
I don’t know, once you starting adding stuff to the cheapest base model you might as well keep going because of the resale value these things will have. I mean if you can afford $40k you might as well go to $45k, that $5k in accessories will likely still be worth $4k or more in 5 years.
@@SpaceTravel1776 Yeah good points. But for me personally, I don’t plan on reselling any time soon, especially since I want to do some aftermarket mods, so resale is pretty much 0 concern for me. Then, if I wanted to get mid package, for example, without sacrificing any of the things I really care about (2.7, sas), I need to spend an addition $6,000 (upgrade to big bend = 4,500, mid is the rest). If I’m going for high or Lux it’s $10k and $13k respectively. I can afford it without any problem, it’s just I personally don’t value anything in those packages very highly at all.
Great review, not everybody is gonna get the highest trim, honestly wouldn't be surprised if most people are buying the base models, their pretty nice to.
This was a great video, I did not know that the base non squatch automatic model came with trail turn assist. This is great news since it's a very useful feature for such a wide vehicle. I honestly see no reason to go with a higher trim level now that I know it includes this option.
Base is the best, 2 or 4 door. It's all you need. 99% of owners who buy the higher end trims and spend $10,000 on accessories are never going to go offroad... unless you count speed bumps at the mall offroading! LOL
Thanks for the review. I read the base 2 door with manual is $29,995 price range and with those same extras would be around $31,000ish unless you opt for the automatic then it will be close to same price. I’m thinking of buying one in future. I would like the sway bar disconnect without the upper trim level price tag and then add everything over time myself like skid plates and bigger tires since I’m not a serious off roader and don’t need them now but for winter this would be my go to vehicle. I might wait for a used one in good shape to save even more money. The ability to take off or swap out the fenders, bumper, etc with little effort is very appealing and I think the base model with ability to add those functions later is the best but if you have $50,000 for a fully loaded one that is a nice option too.
Matte pale silver on steelies looks so much better than black or dark colors. More finished and more functional at the same time. It'll look great with bright colors too.
This is the way to go I think. I've seen the new bronco go for over 60k at a local dealer granted it had a lift kit but still. I'd like one of these new broncos but I'll wait a few years for the market to simmer down lol.
I'm waiting to see what the aftermarket gives us. If I can get a base model, pay it off quickly and then add lockers with the factory hero switches and get the other offroad modes programmed in that's probably the way I'll go.
With so many dressed-up-for-the-apocalypse 4WD vehicles running around these days, I like this less flamboyant version of the Bronco. That plastic steering wheel.....not so much.
Honestly this will probably be the best value long term because it doesn’t come with all of the electrical crap that will inevitably cost a fortune to repair or replace when they break.
I would get a base for numerous reasons but used because I'm cheap when it comes to spending money on cars. The base model is equipped with everything I need. Thats my plan . Get a used base model in 2 years, add a 2 inch lift and aftermarket wheels on and maybe change the grill who knows.
@@DUBcars411 that's very true . That's a risk you have to take with every car . It could be a Hyundai Accent you buy and you find out it was a rental car. Those were beaten up too . I would carefully inspect the vehicle that's what I always do . I have to see where we are in 2 years. Maybe gas prices will be so high that I'm not even interested in buying a Bronco anymore . I'm someone who sets a limit on spending . 25k for a car is maximum I prefer it under . But where prices are right now what people spend for used and new cars is insane and I don't burn my hard earned money on money pits . But each to their own for a lot of people money doesn't seem to be an issue at all apparently.
My girlfriend just bought a silver 2001 CR-V AWD in Phoenix and we drove it back to Detroit March of 2021. Not a spec of rust. I understand what you mean... Low range, top and door removal are a bit better...10 speed is better than the CR-V horrid transaxle lol.
I actually think Ford came out with too many trim levels and they need to combine the Base and Big Bend into one trim because other than a few ascetics the Base and Big Bend with the standard package are the same. I highly doubt anyone would buy a Big Bend with the standard package unless they just like spending an extra 5k they don’t need to. I think most people who are looking at those two trims would either get the Base or the Big Bend with the Mid package.
The Big Bend is a more complete package, comes with LED headlights, better rims, the tinting on the windows, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, 32” AT tires, and a better looking grille. I’d definitely consider it if I didn’t want a Badlands and was mainly looking for an on-road vehicle. It’s the XLT equivalent, whereas the Base is like an XL.
@@alexs3187 that’s not true at all. First, ALL Broncos have LED lights. Second, the Big Bend with the standard package is the exact same. Also not sure you know what ascetics mean so you might want to look it up. All your getting is a different looking wheel, different colored seats and no added features at all. To get the up grades you have to add them, most by going to the mid package.
@@kenyattaclay7666 the headlights are different, look it up. Secondly, the packages are NOT the same, differentiated by the features I mentioned. Yes the Base has LED headlights, but they are different aesthetically (you may may want to look that word up). I say that jokingly because I find it hilarious that you learned a word that is obviously new to you, that you try to be condescending in assuming nobody else knows what it means. Dude, if you can only afford a Base, get a Base. But demanding other people don’t get to choose a nicer trim level than yours just makes you look silly. Grow up.
@@alexs3187 Listen, I'm not going to argue about this and keep going round and round. The headlight are NOT different. EVERY Bronco comes standard with LED headlight. To get the signature head lights on the Big Bend you have to add it as an option but if you don't add it as an option they are the same damn headlights as the Base trim so it's YOU that needs to look it up. Seriously, it's people like you that we are in this situation right now in this country that you are not even intellectually curious to actually find out what the truth is. The difference between the Big Bend with the standard package and the Base IS ONLY A COUPLE OF MINOR ASTEICS.
@@alexs3187 everything else are minor cosmetic changes between the Base and the Big Bend with the standard package. The simple fact is the Big bens with the standard package is a useless option and the Base and Big Bend should be combined into one trim to have a standard option or the mid package.
the only thing I don't like about the 4-door bronco is that the speakers are way far back compared to the 2 door. This is because Ford only put the speakers on the front and back part of the bronco and not on the doors, though this made it easier to take the doors off.
The base model doesn’t allow you to add the led headlights with the better grill . I’m waiting to order mine . I also hope they color match the hard top to the body by the time I get mine …
I dont think there is a differance in the overall length. Why would there be? Other than the bigger spare, the body shoild be the same. Nice review, good price on the base. Put your own big rims and tires on it. 👍
No cup holders in the back seats at all?! Hopefully they add some for future model years. I'll probably get the base, manual transmission, and sasquatch package.
The manual I think is standard on 2 door base but to change to automatic for it is extra. I read the base 2 door with manual is $29,995 price range and with those same extras would be around $31,000 unless you opt for the automatic then it will be close to same price.
Dealerships dont want to sell you a base. At least the ones around here dont. Most dealers around here get a base model, the stick 5-10 grand worth (in their world) of aftermarket gingerbread on it to drive up the price.
Sigh, I kinda want one of these as my living conditions right now kind of ask for a more robust vehicle, but.... I'm hearing about a lot of first model year problems with these things, quality issues due to production problems during the pandemic and the demand for these things is causing skyrocketing prices. Then there's the part of me that cringes at that fuel economy. May wait a couple model years to see what happens.
Ill be sticking with my diesel gladiator but whoever between Jeep or Ford come out with a 2 door EV version or if ford makes the warthog version in a 2 door ill probably trade
For $36,000, you get a basic wrangler sport without power windows, power locks or power mirrors ! And as a jeep owner, I really have to tip my hat to the bronco as it’s a better value. However I will give it a couple years just to make sure all the kinks are engineered out.
Hey Ben I drove the one at Ed Kenley that you drove. Pretty sweet ride. I have two Badlands on order. One that I should get this year (as it’s what Ford can build quickly), and the other the way I really want, but will prob have to wait till next year. Can’t wait!
But you didn't actually answer the question. Is the base model the way to go for just a standard vehicle driving around town? What features on the higher tiers REALLY justify the cost or does it make sense to buy the base and upgrade/modify some things yourself?
@@rubengonzales8741 check ford’s website, it says 35” LT315/70R17 BSW Mud Terrain tires with a raised suspension. I’m just wondering what I could get away with, without having to pay an extra $5k-$6k just to have larger tires. :p
Watching this right now wondering if anyone will eventually be able to actually buy these. Base models for sale everywhere for $50k right now, seems like a huge bubble that’s going to screw allot of people over.
@@joedimauro8697 at least where I live in Texas Dealers spec out all these vehicles with things that most people don't even need or want . It's very hard to find a base model of anything these days. I get dealers are trying to make as much money as possible. I went truck shopping earlier this year the best value I found was in the Nissan Frontier fully spec'd but not crazy over base MSRP.
Hey, so I went to Colorado to visit my sister this weekend and on Monday on my way back to Cali when I was driving past Colorado Springs I passed by 3 badass Ford broncos driving together they had a bulkier body and they were lifted on big off-road tires they were also completely covered with camo like when a car manufacturer is testing a new Vehicle and they were also very muddy so I assumed maybe Ford was out testing a new model of the Ford bronco coming out maybe?
