Excellent review and recording. I have the 2018 Genesis G80 sport and Im already looking at the next vehicle to purchase. I was hesitant at first with the new G80 since its priced at $76K in Canada. I thought I should rather look at the BMW 540i instead but after pricing the 5 series to match the Genesis G80, the price was 105,000$ for a 540i. This video and the price difference sealed the deal for me. Ill be getting the G80 at next purchase. Thanks for making it easy ;)

@@bacvain facts. I loveeee the looks of the G70, G80 and starting to warm up to the G90(not a fan of the wheels) but dang the GV80 is sooo clean looking. The split headlights is just gorgeous.

I just( three month ago) got 2020 Genesis G70 3.3TT AWD. And I'm already thinking to get G80. I love my G70. It's a beast, very beautiful car. But G80 is a step above. G70 is more for yang, sport oriented folks, G80 is more for older comfort lovers. And yes, I subscribed ☺
@@Qvcpvc909 Go to Google, find Delray Genesis, read latest review. How they hold my car for 3 month for warranty repair. Nest day they finally fixed it, I trade it in for BMW 740i. Car is excellent, service sucks. I payed for 1-st class ticket, I do not want to be treated as couch class passenger.

I'm waiting for the GV70! Production to start in October, therefore roughly 6 months later to be in the US. So, hopefully April!! My lease ends in May. I hope that timing works.

Great review DK! At every new launching, Genesis keeps showing an amazing, elegant and clean design. Korean auto industry design in general lately is much better than the over-styled Toyotas, Hondas and even new Mercedes and BMWs. I agree with you, the last version of G80 is still stunning, but this new G80 is hot sexy - looks and drives sportier. If you have both cars in your driveway, the would look really good and they would serve you different proposals. Once again great review, your Korean politeness, low-key presentation focuses on the car and makes it easy to get the knowledge. Reminds me of my Korean friend from abroad. Keep it up the great work!
G80 being a sedan, and GV80 an SUV, there's that much difference between the two. Not saying which is superior, they will always be different given the center of gravity. Both are luxury cars, so they live up to their expectations, I personally prefer the ride feeling of SUV's better, probably because I had one for long time. Just curious seeing this is a very great and detailed video on the G80 is there any chance you can compare this car to the 2020 G90? I am torn between the 2.
One distinctive difference between the two is G80 is certainly more driver focused than the G90. And that's only when compared to G90, but G80 could also be a chauffeur driven car. My thought on G80 would be that it's a sedan that sits right in between G70 and G90!

Is the V6 the 2021 with the Ergo seats? I was looking at the 22 V6 g80 Prestige and I thought that was the “lowest” model and year also I thought the back seat infotainment systems was only in the g90!

what is the black box? also does this G80 comes with video recording of the driving, in case of an accident. so don't have to put an after market camera.

Korea had the on-board cams widely starting in the early 2000, and there was no such name in English terms back then, some folks that invented these started calling it a black box, so is kinda stuck to Koreans, including myself :)
What's the MPG? I saw in the catalogue in only gets 24 mi/gal on the highway. Is that similar to what you got? What kind of fuel economy does it get in eco mode?

Given the specs alone, some say that it'd differ by much, but Genesis knows the purpose of G80's. You could use regular gasoline no problem, but high octane (above RON96) is recommended. There is no problem in using a regular gasoline, but it could yield in a lower MPG, as well as performance (straight from the owner's manual)

I was very anxious to buy it. Price in Canada is 66k for 2.5 and 80k for 3.5... In this price range I can buy way better and more reliable car than this one...very disappointed with over pricing. Good luck with sales.
Well...Audi A6....BMW 5.... Mercedes e....new one's. Used up to 2 years old and 40k km... S class...Audi A8...BMW 7. I can bet with you that 20% of interior is still built with cheap plastic. Please check other reviews. G80 looks good, no issues there but 80k for 3.5 model is too much for at least 10k.

Are they selling in America? I haven't seen one yet. I'm going to smoke it in my Audi S7 just to remind Genesis owners they are not driving a German luxury sports sedan, only pretending to.

That was a dangerous jerky movement. You are much safer if you just ran over it. People, don’t turn your steering wheel like the way the driver did. You only do that in a movie, Final Destination or in a tv show. Unbelievable.
