So impressed inside and out with the design. In person it is simply stunning. The interior color choices are so inviting and bespoke. Wish there weren't so many close minded commenters talking about something they never even saw or experienced personally. In person it has a huge wow factor video just can't do it justice. Definetly would take this over the competition

My issue is this, when you're paying almost 100k for a luxury family SUV, you're also paying for the brand prestige. As shallow as it may sounds, the looks and respect you get from driving a shiny new Benz is part of the perks of owning a luxury vehicle. With Genesis, either people don't know about it or they think you cheaped out. Many people think of Genesis as the Great value knockoff version of a Benz. Why pay almost 100k for a Genesis and be considered that way? Might as well buy a Benz. Most Genesis are sold in Hyundai dealerships because there are few Genesis dealerships. That means your 100k Genesis SUV will be serviced next to a 15K Hyundai Accent, that's not a luxury bespoke experience.

@@NileshR12 The GV80 Advance Plus has 3 rows of seats but has a little less head room than the Telluride or Palisade. There is still decent storage behind the 3 row. And the trolls that make blanket statements about bad engines could we have the technical data to look at please? There have been some issues with direct injected engines having carbon deposits build up on the intake valves but now they have added an additional port injector to keep the intake valves from the deposits. There is a 100k 10 year warranty on the drive train. Also I believe it is better to use a quality pure synthetic motor oil as the mist and vapor from the crankcase and PVC system will help keep the intake valve deposits to a minimum. We bought this car earlier this year (2022) to the same specs as in the video. It is everything and more than this review. We have always bought German cars because of the quality of build and the ride. Genesis was the first Asian car we purchased and there is no remorse. This vehicle goes head to head with every German SUV we have ever owned. Every feature equals or exceeds their German counterpart except one. Price! Drive this car and you'll be surprised.

Respectfully I can name one that based on this reviews is less pricey and has more prestige at least for now. And Genesis has NOT proven itself in the depreciation or quality department as of yet. It's not the Lexus of the mid-2000 quality, trade in value etc. My 2019 Audi Q7 3.0 Prestige quattro came in brand new at $68,456 (full concierge for 3 years) and not at $73,000. I know it's 3.0 and not 3.5, I chose the 20 inchers (my choice) instead of the 22", but with Pirelli run flats with Nitro. Virtual cockpit, fullmpanoramic roof, cold and warm weather packages, every option available except (full disclosure) the adaptable suspension and no issues, none so far. And the steering wheel designs, no comparison, this looks like my granddad's Buick steering wheel. And we did an off road/snow/ice test drive with friends, one BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE and as u can imagine the Quattro smoked both BMW and Mercedes in the ice/snow. I also have a 2018 Q5 performance plus with all bells and whistles and from what I hear about the GV70 it won't be any cheaper. So where is the value proposition??? Every reviewer talks highly of the relatively new Genesis brand as a value alternative. I don't see it as an Audi owner and multiple Lexuses in the 2000-2014 range all brand new. Lexus, yes, used to be a value, both in price and reliability. Plus trade-in. Genesis has to prove itself first and then we can call it value proposition.

Curious if there’s a lot of shared components with Hyundai those seats look identical in stitch pattern to the Palisade. Fully loaded Palisade trim comes with the ventilated seats they’re playing the option luxury game for the top trim model. Genesis also needs stand alone dealerships, people like to have loaner vehicles a nice waiting area with snacks. If you’re playing the luxury game the entire package needs to be delivered. Sadly, even if the product is superior this luxury clientele wants to feel special the German luxe brands deliver with this.

@KC-bv9kf 3 года назад
Agree with some of your point, but instead of comparing to in-house products, you should compare it to what is available in that price range. Stitch pattern and stitch quality, leather quality, fit-finish...are what separate good vs luxury. Value here is real. I have had MBs, BMWs, Porsches, and this is a serious option at 20-25k less. Sure driving dynamic is not as fun, but this is the one to for everyday luxury. And they provide pickup and delivery services, so there is no need to set foot in dealerships. No other company provide that as baseline. Seriously, I am at the point in my life that I give very little f$&k about what people think. It looks awesome and it is a pleasure to drive. The suspension on this vehicle has many cast iron parts. Cheap. No aluminum. That may be why it ride loud as the reviewer says

@@jongwankim5800 Indeed I have. I recommend you go watch savagegeese review of this vehicle. X5 is all aluminum. You get what you pay for. Same for Lexus. My choice is always Lexus. The GOLD standard. These Koreans look good, but are all gimmicky. If you want to own and not have to trade every three years, then choose Lexus, GOLD STANDARD.

Not true, based on the video you recommend to watch. Yes they did cheap out on the material, but on the same video at 13:35 he says Genesis is quiter and better than Acura MDX and LEXUS RX350. By the way, the Gold standard already started to fade away.. No innovation. Same regurgitation again and again, LEXUS is not gold standard. Yeah, you like it, that's all.

@@paulm6481 You are wrong. Go check the sus of X5. BMW is going back steel lately. All of silver color links or frame are not AL. GV80's front upper and knucle arms also AL. As you know almost all links and arms on rear are made with AL except a subframe. I think the most important point of luxury SUVs is balace with the strength and weight under suspensions.

why, if you get an SUV, would you probably want AWD? So, no, wrong. here in texas we want an SUV but have absolutely NO NEED of AWD. this engine has been around, and is WAAAY better now, from ford since 2009. my old MKS with now 104,000 miles is getting 21.8 MPG ave right now, today off the reading. with the tune, it has 445HP and 435 lb per. and so there's that. boy, you sure are impressed with bling vs reliability. how about looking under the car to compare it to the germans and again tell us IF there is a reason for the price differences and the reason those who can...buy those. and then the truth...MPG. it sucks. and your friend confirms, eh? not so with the other brands...they actually do well in their real-world numbers. no thanks. i will hurry down to my lincoln dealer and get the aviator, get better mps and even use regular gas.

Albert Biermann and his colleagues from BMW M came over to head up Genesis powertrains and engineering. The doubts about the suspension on Genesis' is ignorance on your part. Ever driven the Genesis G70. That's Biermanns baby and it is as good or better than the 3-Series. And light years ahead in reliability.

I'll have to disagree with everything you said except for the last row. That Aviator hybrid is nice, way better than the crappy Explorer. But for everything above, are you sure you don't need AWD given the snow TX got this year? I've been to Texas and I live in Georgia. Yes, most time you won't need AWD if you only stay on the road. But if you are an active outdoors person like myself who constantly going to dirt roads, muddy roads, light off-roading etc, you will need some extra 2 wheels of power. Who needs an SUV if you never go off-pavement anyway? A minivan can hold more people and cargo, and a sedan is more comfortable to drive. 7 out of 9 vehicles I've owned are Ford products, but I have to say that the modern ford is much worse coming to design, manufacture quality, and interiors comparing to their Korean counterpart. 21.8 mpg on that old 3.5 ecoboost in a sedan is nothing to bragging for. The air drag of sedan vs. SUV is totally different. With that same engine in my F150, I get only 15 MPG.

@@dearbulls am i "really" sure i don't need awd in texas? really? i am so sure that i can tell you i don't need it in chicago, where i grew up. we never had awd and the first time i ever experienced anything close was the old vw i drove in college. the engine was over the drive wheels. but we had trucks. we had cars. all rwd and with the worst snows ever. the snow of 1967 and 79 were horrendous. and our pick ups had bags of sand in then when needed. i was listening to another review from canada and they were laughing about the "need" for awd. they never had it and know how to drive in weather conditions. and as for this snow in texas, you obviously don't know much about it. people with awd and 4 wheel drive were not on the road. the roads were ice, not snow. i don't care if you go off-road. but i promise you the gv80 isn't goin with you. please. don't talk to me about the mpg of my mks being nuthin. show me another 445 hp, 450 l\lb per with the same . i dare you. ain't no other 4500lb vehicle giving that. what the hell...!!!!! really??? who was talking about car to truck, apples to oranges???? i did mention, butyou i8gnored, that the navigator, with MORE POWER, gets better and can use regular. seriously now....i should get paid for this
