I owned a 2019 and now own a 2022 both great cars but the simplicity larger rear seats and added features on the 22 are fantastic and you have to actually sit in a new one to realize how classy the interior looks in person it's really simple and elegant
After seeing this 11th gen, I’m SO glad I bought my 2018 Civic EX-T. Guess I’ll be keeping it for another five or six years. Looking forward to the 12th gen. 😉
I kno that’s right….My love my coupe ex-t ….such a beautiful car n made for mods….I got a muffler n reservoir delete w/the air intake n no engine light…also, I drove it twice from chicago to Vegas the 2nd time I did it with the modifications….Fuckin Fun ass car
Same. I have a 2019 Ex hatch. Love everything about mine car. I could live with at body of the Gen 11 with modifications, but that interior dash with all that honeycomb, yuck; and the way its set up reminds me of the Dodge cars that the older people like.
@@user-ir4tr4kx7f 10th Gen: sideview camera, larger trunk space, room for either vent clip-on smartphone attachments or dash mounts, extra large cup holder, more responsive despite the slightly lower hp/torque than the 11th gen. 11th gen: more passenger space, less trunk and glove compartment space. No extra large cup holder, 1 less USB, no sideview camera, infotainment system prevents dash mounting and the honeycomb vent design prevents clip-on attachments. If you’re buying the 11th gen Civic, you’re getting less than the 10th gen...and paying more. Great job, Honda. I’ll wait to see what the 12th gen offers in a few years.
2022 rear end disappointed me 😩 I was looking in to trade my 2020 but I think I’ll have to wait on it 🥱 also Idk if it’s based on model but I saw a 2022 sport and the door panels had cloth no leather making it feel a bit cheaper than my current car 🤔
I used to think that the previous generation Civic was too busy, but it eventually grew on me. With the new Civic, Honda went too much to the opposite direction and produced a car that's way too bland and boring! I much prefer the design of the old one; even the interior of the old one looks better to me without the infotainment screen sticking out or that weird metal mesh strip on the dashboard in the new version.
@@canuckeeeeAK LOL, that's why taste is subjective! And, as I said, I didn't like the old Civics initially either, but they're works of art compared to the new ones which are probably the blandest, most boring cars on the road.
@@sammyt3514 I didn't use to like the new ones, but the other day I saw a hatchback of the new civic and it doesn't even look like a hatchback!! I personally did NOT like the hatchbacks on the older civics. Newer ones, oh yes. 😍 still love my 10th gen civic tho!
The one thing that's better in 2022 model is that there's no rubber grrove for roof panels... It's some different sort of welding so it looks cool. But I still can't forget the feeling of seeing a stealth bomber on wheels, when I first saw one of the 2016 civic in black. Loved it and got one!
When I bought my Civic, I chose it above other brands because the multi media screen was integrated in the dash design and did not look like an option added to an old designed car and popping out. I don't understand why the screen of the 2022 model is above the dash!
Good job with this comparison. I think the old Civic looks better (from the outside,) but the new Civic's interior is nicer for sure. The visibility is also better which is super important to me. I'll be keeping my old car though, the visibility on all these newer models are disappointing.
The 2021 is what the Civic should always look like: Sporty, Aggressive, Bold and Youthful styling. The 2022 is what the Accord should always look like: Modern, Sophisticated, Mature and Sporty styling.
For me the looks on the 22 were a downgrade. Before it was an exciting city car, considered a dream where I live. Now it's a more boring accord or even corolla. Since my father had a 2008 civic with that jetfighter like dash it was my favorite against the competitors in the market by far but now I'd prefer any other one that has more edge to it
18 months ago, we had 3 Mazda 3's to trade. We weren't happy with the Gen XI Mazda 3's Torsion Beam set up in the Gen XI. It lacked connectivity to the driver that our Gen X's had. We ended up shopping several others. But we ended up buying 2 new Gen X Civics: one new 2020 Hatchback Sport and one new 2020 Couple EX. We also got a new 2020 Lexus UX. The Civics' handling are excellent. On my daily driver Coupe, after 34k miles, zero problems. 39.1 MPG since day #1. The Sport Hatch a/c was replaced at 31k, a known issue with Hondas for over a decade. But the a/c warranty was massively extended. 👌
um... criticism, the Ex models should be 1.5L and turbo. LX and sport sedan are 2L non-turbo. And fog lights are optional on EX. My 2020 civic ex has them.
No to the colour matching on the interiors, so thankfully they didn't add that. But also no to the black gloss, as I'd rather none at all. That said the dashboard is a roaring success on the 2022 model. One of best designed I've seen. Physical buttons and dials for all of the basics, plus touch screen for entertainment is the best choice. But the execution is where this really excels. So well laid out and intuitive.
I was planning on waiting and seeing what the 22 model was going to look like before purchasing. When I saw they changed it completely I purchased a 21 EX hatchback in blue. I wanted the hatchback since I saw this model come out years ago. It looked so different from any car I had ever seen, and I had never wanted a car before. Honda wanted to be safe for the 22’s I guess and tamed the look, but it’s boring to me and looks like every other car out there.
I prefer the interior of the 2021, and I prefer the front of the 2021. The 2021 looks sportier from the front, and it’s gives it a look a new driver would love. The interior on the 2021 is nice and simple to navigate, and is visually pleasing. The 2022, while having a sleeker screen placement and not “shouting out at you” buttons, the hexagonal strip on the dash just looks awful. It jumps out at you so much it distracts you from seeing the beauty around it. The hexagonal strip also doesn’t fit with the cars interior at all, as it isn’t seen anywhere else but the front dash. It also looks like it came out of a car from the 1970’s, and this car doesn’t have a 1970’s look to make it fit. This is just my opinion, don’t send hate. You are entitled to your own opinion, as I am to mine.
Hate that tablet right next to your eyes it will feels like a corolla. Hatchback models look better in both and it has a better front and back design for 2022
I don’t like the 22’ glad I got the 21’ the inside of the 22’ looks kinda like a bmw. Like how the screen is on top of dash. And everything like spread out. I like it more compacted and more organized rather than going up to radio down to the heat/ac. Longer reach to the top of dash radio. IMO.
Just got a 22 sport touring. I like the 10 gen but it's probably a little to youthful for me. One thing I will say you know what there are from any distance day or night. I'm a little confused here. I believe the LX and spot have the NA 2.0 and the EX & Touring come with the 1.5T. Never the less nice video, Thanks
I personally like the older generation than the newer one I sat on the newer one compare to the older generation I feel the difference and even the inside of the look the older generation is better. The downfall from the newer one is that too many safety features that will fail down the road or get recalled and you'll be paying a lot to fix it
I have always hated the design of the 10th gen civic (especially the rear) but this 11th gen is much much better. One thing I would’ve liked to see would have been a bigger boot door, one like the Tesla model S rather than the Tesla model 3 if that makes any sense to you. Overall, it’s a beauty and the type R will be a beast
@@canuckeeeeAK it’s alright man, we each have our own choices and opinions, I like the way the new head lights look on the 11th gen , but honestly they could have done better with the exterior design
My 22' is an ex and has the turbo. Don't know why they both don't have the turbo. My dad's 21' also had the turbo in the ex. Way cheaper than getting touring with the leather.
The 2022 Civic is what the 10th Generation 2016+ Civic should have looked like. and the 2016+ Civic should have been the new for 2022 11th generation Civic.
I actually really like the 2022, the interior really does it for me. It looks so simple and elegant especially with the honey comb vents. I wasn’t a fan of the exterior however but it’s growing on me.
Looks like honda went back to 2015 looks....the interior looks nicer than 11th gen...but the exterior on 10th gen is nicer. All i see is a jetta with a honda label...
The Civic stills a great car, the problem with this new generation is that Honda is copying the european styling, making this new generation a downgrade compared to the 10th generation.
In terms of looks Honda seems to have gone backwards (again). 🙁 Style-wise the European gen 8 was fantastic and helped them sell a lot of vehicles but since then they seem to have gone into reverse and with each new iteration targeted a progressively older and more conservative generation of drivers. And the engines... I hate to say it but Honda really seems to have lost their touch here. Reliability concerns with oil dilution and fuel efficiency being well bested by the competition suggest Honda aren't the cutting edge engine tech pioneers they once were. 🙁
i‘m sorry-I own the beautiful 2021 model-but the new one is not my style! can‘t buy the new-styled model! must find another cool brand-but the new model has turned tooo normal to my taste! sorry!
2021 looks soo much better wtf is Honda's doing. Even the interior in the 2021 looks way better. You guys aren't fooling anyone. And wtf is with the airvent is this supposed to be an SUV inspired interior...gross
Glad they redesigned the 2021's ugly "stapler" tailights on the 2022. Overall, The 2022 exterior looks much more refined, which might not appeal to everyone.
