i bought this, EX-L model, in July 2021....BEST FUCKING DECISION IN MY LIFE EVER!! The small turn radius is absolutely amazing, it's small enough that I can parallel park anywhere in the city, and yet big enough inside to accommodate passengers of all sizes, with vast space in the trunk for luggage, grocery bags, camping gears, picnic stuff, etc. My CRV got me past other vehicles stuck in deep snow, and plowed my way safely all the way to my home during winter storms. My CRV was able to trek the roughest trail roads to secretive hiking spots. My CRV safely brought me home in extremely flooded roads on rainy days. Honestly....I can't imagine my life without this amazing car. I'm keeping mine for a long time
Just bought this today. It’ll much better suit my family than my old pickup I traded for it. All the new computer and screen interface features are a little overwhelming for me but I’m sure I’ll get used to them. It was definitely a nice ride home from the dealer and the radio sounded fantastic. 👍🏻
@@pdswrld5200 If you want room for luggage or lots of bags and boxes, I'd say go CRV. It has a ton of space in the back for stuff. If you don't need that then maybe the accord. My CRV is a family car and has worked great for us in daily life and road trips.
Bought a 2020 CR-V EX last year and couldn’t be happier with it. The only complaints I would have would be the CVT transmission has a delay at times, but when it kicks in, it speeds up real quick and the other being the engine noise being a little whine-y. Other than that, very comfortable, very spacious, and very quiet.
Honda is one of the most superior auto manufacturers out there. I own 2 Hondas and multiple family members own Hondas as well and no one ever has a single problem.
Had a CR-V years ago, and I'm sure that its still being driven today. Like George said, it does everything really well. One thing he didn't mention was it does very well in the snow. I never had my CR-V in for repairs. Nope, not once. Go sit in one and you'll like it. Good video.
10:01-10:16 I wholeheartedly agree. the EX is the first car that made a convincing impression on me, so much so that I didn’t feel I needed to upgrade to the EX-L just for the leather seats and perhaps one or two more features. really packed.
I drove the 2021 and was impressed. I can’t wait for the 2022 to come out and see what changes Honda makes. This and the 2022 Pilot should be completely redesigned so it’s worth waiting until March or April, when Honda typically releases redesigned models.
I have this SUV...it totally does NOT shift like a regular transmission. it's Obviously a CVT. That being said, so what, I LOVE IT!! it's fast as hell.
I really love your reviews. You do a more thorough job than others and you focus on everything not just what you like....I will buy one as I like this car and it won't be too terribly expensive. It's a great car for big dogs, St Bernard's and Great Pyrenees....Thanks so much.
You didn’t mention the problem with the oil dilution. That’s the main reason I would not buy the CRV with the 1.5 engine. My friend has the 2020 CRV and he says that once in a while he can smell gas when he’s taking a short trip. Honda needs an engine like the 2.0 in the CRV. And the radio does look outdated compared to Kia, Hyundai and Nissan. Your report was great.
Nice review...your right that radio is so out dated.....Not sure why they didn't put a new one in (like the one in the accord) when they did the minor refresh earlier this year.
And now with the 2022 civic reveal Honda has finally partnered with Bose for their audio. Definitely waiting for the 2022 Honda offerings to get this and many other upgrades
I have a 2019 EX-L which is the same generation but with some cosmetic changes. The weaknesses for me are the CVT, slow infotainment system, and the horrible carpet from the factory. Overall I still like the car. And right now I am getting 31 mpg mixed use with Shell premium.
My 2008 VW Bug just died in the parking space so this is what I bought.....I remember the Honda 1985 Civic. I hate buying new cars....obviously. Thanks. It comes tomorrow
Really enjoy your videos. Thinking about buying a CR-V. Is it nimble in traffic and easy to park? Would you choose CR-V or the RAV4? Keep up the good work.
Yes no problem with parking and yes nimble. I would choose the crv over the rav4. It does many things better. See the ranking on driversonlyrankings.com
Go with the CR-V. I own the CRV and have driven the RAV4 extensively around the Northern region (plenty of country/steep/twisty roads) of NZ's North Island. I don't get the popularity of RAV4. It's an ok car, nothing special, the back row seats aren't as comfortable as the CRV and I don't like the faux off-ride styling, but sales in my part of the world outstrip the CRV by 7:1. Love the CR-V. Spacious, reliable, good driving performance and thrifty on the gas. it'll fit three large adults in the backrow seats. If you're a big/tall/obese driver--you'll appreciate the CRVs spacious driver seat space and legroom.
I own at 2012 RAV4, have a few Toyota's (also corolla and camry), for the RAV4 (which I bought new), at 130K, the trans torgue converter started going, Toyota flushed my trans fuild for 600.00 and told me I need to change it every 30K otherwise I need to change the converter (2400, they have to pull the engine). This is my wifes car, gently driven, brakes for some reasons have gotten worst, master cylinder has been changed, brakes changed and lines bled, still a bit soft. I'm on my second front wheel bearing, the car has 158k and now I'm dealing with P0456 errors. I love my corolla, it give me no problems but disappointed in the RAV4, last week I bought the Honda CRV-EX, hopefully I have better luck.
I asked the same question, but didn’t get any response. Ssssshhhhhh, just don’t talk about it, maybe it will go away miraculously, just like coronavirus.
One thing I do not like about the new model CRV compared to the older models is the steeply raked windshield. On the video it looked like the drivers view ahead was narrow horizontally through the windshield.
I didn't catch your name. Thanks for the detailed review of the CR-V. My wife and I are thinking about getting two of them but we wonder if we should wait until 2022. Do you think there's going to be a new upgraded CR-V in 2022 and if so would it be worth the wait? Thanks, Gary.
In UK CRV is classed as large SUV. I drive a 2017 one and I plan to get a hybrid model next year. Very satisfied with CRV and Honda apart from the infotainment and navigation system which in my opinion is below the competition.
I agree. Always have been a Honda guy and own a 13 year old Fit with no issues. I'm not convinced Honda has solved the oil dilution problem in the CR-V and long term reliability is questionable for this engine. They have increased the warranty by one year which means nothing to someone who keeps their vehicles long term! As a result, I'm off to the Toyota dealer to test drive a 2021 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD with a non turbocharged engine and a non CVT!
@@ronripley9197 I work at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, and spent years in the engine performance division. I've built scores of 4 cylinder engines and I know what kind of quality they produce. You're making a wise decision!
Good review! Hilarious to think that this thing, which when compared to my old truck is like the starship Enterprise, has gadgets that are somewhat dated... ;)
I agree. I just bought this today and traded in my 2012 Silverado to get it. There was almost nothing computerized on that truck. The advanced features on the Honda are somewhat overwhelming for me and will take awhile to get used to.
Had a 2018 CRV .... every 1000 miles engine created 8 ounces of oil. Like magic .... oil was being diluted with gas thru the turbo!! Supposedly fixed it ... time will tell!
I'm trying to figure out if I should get the HR-V or the CR-V. It's just me, my boyfriend, and two dogs, so I don't need a TON of space, but I'm still stuck since they're both nice choices.
The one thing I needed to know wasn't addressed. I need to know the door sill height of SUV's, this makes a huge difference for the older driver or passenger.
I read through some of the comments but I'm still concerned. I dont live in a cold state (San Diego, CA) should I be concerned with the CVT transmission?
I'm looking at the 2021 or possibly waiting till 2022 Touring. My question - why do I see ads with various colours for interior but here in Canada it's all black. Am I missing something - other than the obvious lack of interior colour?
