My buddie and me both had 2016 KX450s I was faster than him. He bought a 2021 Husky and I now have a 2020 Crf450 and I can't catch him. Thanks for the honest test, I wish I still had my Kawi, my Honda is trash, I'm always fighting it.
I appreciate all the information! I started on a Honda years ago then rode Yamaha for most of my life. Due to the issues Yamaha is having with new bikes that I’ve seen and heard from family and buddies, I’m getting away from them. I’m really looking into a huskqvarna FC350 or 450. But Honda has always had a soft spot in my heart lol. I’ve never owned a husky but looking like I might within a few weeks!
@@chrisvillarreal2752 Yeah, I've just bought my 1st ever Kato '04 525exc Nearly 20yrs Out of Date, but it's still seems Great! - The Newer Ones must be on a Different Level - I guess if you make a premium product - folks will pay extra! -Cheers👍
Yeah the honda does and it could probably compete better if the comp was only focused on making dirt bikes like KTM is but they are not sadly. It seems like a lot of effort is put elsewhere with honda
Finally an objective review. Not that any of the bikes are bad these days, but it was refreshing to hear why and how things were better or worse. Honda sinking money into “all new” hype marketing, Husky “same boring bike as last year but lower.”
Honda is the brand that everybody looks to. Thats why getting a factory honda ride is always a bigger deal then being on another team. Its been like that forever
@@jmard24 once again all hype. You wanted to get signed to Honda because they had small 1-2 man teams and huge salary as a result. Get signed by Roger Decoster no matter what team he's managing is what that really translates to.
@@milesdufourny4813 if u look it up Honda is at the at the Top of there Game right now Along with Kawasaki 1.Kawasaki 2.Honda 3.KTM 4.yamaha 5.Husky 6.Suzuki
Here’s my vote. I’ve owned both a 21 KTM450 and crf450. And I undisputedly think that ktm/husky is paying these guys to vote them the top bike. Honda takes the cake anyday and it’s undeniable
I’ve rode many different brands at a pro level here’s my opinion. Honda is the best handling chassis Yamaha has the best engine since I like a torquey engine kawi is good at everything but not great At anything Suzuki handles okay but to little flex for me and slow Ktm/husky/gas gas are my least favorite bike I’ve ever rode they have a very empty feeling on the front end and I’ve rode them with 52’s 48 cones, and kyb forks with many different triple clamps and they never have that tire meeting the ground feeling on the front a Honda is best at that feeling they feel connected to the ground definitely my favorite brand so having said that 100% they pay these media companies I rank Ktm above Suzuki but that’s it was not a fan of them whatsoever
Here's my vote. You are full of it! Honda tried SO HARD to copy KTM in the new 2021 CRF450 and failed miserably! Back to single exhaust with resonance chamber, hydraulic clutch, trying to go to a more linear usable power band but everyone ranked the Honda last in 2021.... How sad! Honda wants to be KTM SO BADLY!
@@krafty9067 that is fine, I get it I’m not saying I didn’t like my ktm. I’m saying the Honda is far superior. You don’t have to agree with me that’s your input. But until you own both at the same time and race all MX, gncc and dirt drag, don’t come to at me by reading the brochure lol. Add personal experiences into the equation and you’ll be on the Honda train as well
I like how the onda is red. Husky is blue/yellow/white, and ktm is orange/white/black. Dirt bike of nowadays are too color. Two colors are allowed and one of them is either Black or white. Check out the 2021 gas gas
It was welded on bung which was used to attached an oxygen sensor for ECU mapping and dyno testing. We had Twisted Development put it on when we were testing different maps on this bike. It's still stock and the bung doesn't have any effects on performance
Honda could probably do better but they aren’t just a dirt bike company, they make cars street bikes and all sorts of engines. So I have to give KTM props for being a company completely focused on dirt bikes
KTM make large road bikes and compete in road racing. Honda are the largest motor manufacturer in the world when it comes to the number of motors made. js
I'm sure this is old knowledge, but I would guess that Honda's "hyper-fast", aggressive power delivery was a result of all those years where the CRF450 powerband was so anemic and they got tired of the reviews saying as much. Then they went overboard with their response now they have dialed it back just a little. Pure guessing on my part but it sure seems logical.
I just bought a 2022 CRF 450 Honda RL and it has the stiffer suspension I've ever rode in my life like a covered wagon I had a $1,000 worth of suspension and rear shock work done it is absolutely just as stiff as it used to be after all the suspension work was done I'm wondering if it can ever be saved so do not ever ever ride this bike in the dirt and that's what I bought it for
I watched this video just to see how bad you would bash Honda because well you have been doing it consistently since 2009. I bet if you put red plastics on that Husky you'd say it was a POS.
Off subject I know...Sorry but feel the need to speak my mind right or wrong. IMO...there is NO reason to have any water cooling on a dirt bike. It's extra weight and costs. Newer isn't always better. It worked then and would work now.
You didn't grow up racing air cooled mx bikes did you ? If you did you'd know how much that the air cooled bikes lost power towards the end of the motos. That was also on 2strokes which run cooler than 4strokes by a huge difference.
Today, and back in the old days, I'd say follow the bikes Roger DeCoster is developing. Today that is: KTM, and now Husky and GasGas. When Roger was at Honda, that was the brand to have. I raced his designed 1983 Honda CR 250 to many wins at Carlsbad after having my ass handed to me while riding other brands.
This is totally unsatisfactory on Honda's part. Here you have the worlds motorcycle manufacturer with the world's largest R&D budget and can't do any better than that!? Shame on you Honda...you will pay the price sooner or later producing such crap to your consumer base. I think I'll buy the Husky now...
The motorcross I have no excuse for haha... But as for Husk a varna, I've never been corrected on that in person. I say it the same way other Americans say it and funny enough, I'm 50% Swedish!
@@joshmosiman1955 No big deal! It’s more an issue that no one in our sport ever gets coached! Same as the riders constantly saying “we” when it’s actually “I” but you are still improving and doing a great job!
Once again KTM action magazine try their best to advertise worse bike of the year for their ktm boss ... wanna compare then dare and compare it with kx450 ;) ... we all know why you wont ....
@@mahaniamir I’ve seen countless kx 450s blow up. They are the least reliable bike out there right with the worst parts. Sure they ride good but clap out before you can finish a moto
