Honda OEM Engine oil Filter PN#15410-MFJ-D02
Honda DCT (Dual Clutch) transmission oil filter PN#15412-MGS-D21
Honda OEM Pro GN4 Motor Oil - 10W40
What tools will I you need :
*12mm socket
*5mm Allen key for the cover plate that sits over the DCT transmission filter housing.
*8mm socket for the transmission filter cover
*oil filter wrench
*Shop towels to clean up any spills
*Gloves to protect your hands

Looks good one thing you might consider. Before you put the covers back on that cover the access to the dct filter, test for leaks.

@@Worldentertainment9999 I love my Honda and still have it , But I recently also upgraded to a BMW , and I can tell you this ....... the BMW on the road is simply magic ..... but my Honda is great as well ........ I think it comes down to financial and personal choice. The BMW is more fun to ride in the twisties !

just checked the service manual, it specifically mentioned both the oil plan plugs need to be opened to drain. Im suspecting the bottom of the oil pan might not be a flat one.

@@piterol85 yes correct ..... I did both , I think its the same oil but they probably have a divider "maybe" to make sure the minimum amount is available at any given time while riding .....

So I don't think the Rebel even has a light on the screen , so mine takes exactly 4.5 quarts when measured when the bike is on stands , level and upright.

I have always wiped the oil filter seating faces. And wiped out the cavities.

I am kinda scared to do that since most times your rag or cloth leaves residue and lint , and that would be disastrous if it got into the engine.

My European owner's manual recommends 10W30 oil. Is it different for you?

Yes, the Rebel 1100 DCT inherited the Twin Parallel engine from the Africa Twin

Please tell me why that makes a difference ? What exactly would that information do for you ? I mean you are using 1 oil for both engine and transmission , You will drain both plugs and then replace filters and fill one hole ....... ???? So what does me telling you which drain plug is for engine and which one is for DCT help ?
