I've been the announcer there for 15 years, and this might have been the best finish I've seen yet. Rarely do we see 4 riders (M or F) come up Icebreaker together. I've also never seen these conditions. We've had "Niceman" races before, but this was unreal. Come back when the conditions are like they were in 2014 when the winning time was 30 minutes longer.
I was mid pack in that 100 rider field, and they were as loud when we cam through as when the leaders did. It was neat to be on the inside of the barriers instead of being one of the guys cheering.

I get wanting to do that course with no suspension. But flat MTB bars are so key. I think 1x with a 38t chainring is the winning ticket for setup. I wish I could have caught the top 20. I snapped my chain at Williamsburg. Nice race btw!
Great job, Kerry! Always fun racing this and then it being highlighted by the pros coming in. I was on that last hill, Icebreaker, cheering you all on. Which camera did you have on your helmet? Is it the Insta360 One X2? I'm thinking about switching mine up and I like that perspective. Thanks
Great finish and way less mountain bike oriented it seemed, at least from the video. I'm not sure I love that funnel to a single line right near the finish, which essentially led to the "$6,000 elbow".
Love the video commentary!!! How did you keep that GoPro charged up the entire race? My batteries only last 30-45 min. Did you strap an external batter to your helmet??

To be a spokesperson worth sponsorship you have to speak to the target audience. Who are you yapping at? Hardly anybody that is plopping down big $$$$ for a Kona gravel bike. Everything thing you do, everything you say has consequences and your lack of communication skills will keep you from getting any sponsorship and most jobs. You might think you sound "dope"but it won't earn you any sponsorships
