In this video I am taking my first look, walk around and test drive of this 2021 Kia Soul Turbo. It is definitely one of the coolest boxy SUVs out there. i hate you lol... midway thru you sold me on the car when you sat in the back.. i have been looking at them... hoping your review would be shit.. its not.. better than any sales pitch since you show the car features.. damn you and logic.. considering they are not expensive these are probably the best bang for the buck considering the interior space you get for the money and the engine.

Souls are kinda under rated. I have a 2015 base and my big complaint is it feels pretty cheap but it was a cheap car. But I pull a small trailer with it and everyone who's been in says it's way bigger inside than it looks. I've had it packed full for a 9 hour car ride with 2 people and it was perfectly manageable.

Me and my ex wife had a 2015 we put 80,000 miles on it in 2 years going from South West florida to philadelphia pa to visit family and I must say I didn't have not one complaint!!! ALOT of leg room mind you I'm 5'11 very comfortable road trip vehicle very easy to get in and out of!!

Quick note. You mentioned slight uncertainty when taking the turns in the Kia Soul. With lane assist on you will experience the car wanting to stay in the lane and feedback through the steering wheel will make it seem like it’s not doing what you want it to. Turn off lane assist to get the true steering ability of the car especially over 40 MPH.

In sport mode all it does on mine is the steering tightness .

One of my biggest disappointments with my Soul is that the remote start, remote climate control, and remote locks are all part of a subscription package. To have those features (and, yes, some others) is $14.95 a month! If you want the voice support stuff (Kia’s version of OnStar) it’s more! I bought my Soul because of the car and seat height, easy to use controls, and the remote features (I have arthritis and these features were necessary for me). I told the salesman this but either I missed the fact it’s subscription, or he didn’t tell me! I only found out when I received an email that my subscription was running out. Very disappointing!

Hi Linda, i hear you, bit that is still not bad comparing to some other manufacturers and the features that you get with it. I can't think of a brand that has an app based system that is free ( other than a trial period) Still better than spending 600 or more on remote start only and then sell or trade the car after that. In your case if you sell it just cancel the subscription. Thanks for watching!

@@MattTheCarguy Except if the car is supposed to have the remote start as part of its equipment. I should also mention, the thing is glitchy. Some days it doesn’t work!

@@lindao8014 was remote start listed as part of the package on the window sticker? if so it would be on the remote and if you did not get it you should question your dealer.

Are you talking about the remote start on the phone app? Does the key fob have a remote start button?

@@tkampinelli307 There isn’t a remote start on the key fob. The only remote anything is an app you load on your phone. Then you pay a subscription fee for the remote start and climate control. The cost starts at about $20/m. Which sucks.

Great car, bought it for our family of 4 and it has so much room. I’m 6’7” and I have plenty of room. Gas mileage is below average in my opinion, but can’t beat features and space for the price. We got our 2021 gt line for $18.4k!

Good but not great, some regret in purchasing the 2021 soul turbo. At that price point with all the added cost many other hyundai and kia vehicles with more for your money.

It takes a Corner well! It's bad ass in the mountains of Va.and Wva. I do wish it had a little more braking power!

The Soul feels a bit more fragile to me, although my last car was a minivan). I’m in MI and we grow BIG potholes! I hit a deep one in a construction site and had to wait a month to fix it (I had to get past Christmas). It ended up costing over $850 because the alignment was so out, that I killed my front tires that fast. I love my Turbo GT, but I’m missing my van for several reasons.

Wow one of the high taxes in the country too . So sorry! I have heard horror stories about that state. Really a shame. Mi used to be part of Va territory! Sorry Sis. I can't say much this L.A.H. Gov. We have is laying us to waste also .

I was wondering what those paddle shift-type things were behind the steering wheel. I did not see there being a manual option?

Manual transmission is available on the lowest trim ( LX) I believe.

I dont know what hey are for in the fossil cars but in my e-soul they are for adjusting how much regeneration you get back to the battery. So i just use them to brake down when i heading into a roundabout or into a trafik light or holding back the speed downhill.

In my GT I can put the car in Sport Mode, then use the paddles to shift gears (no shift pedal). I’m told I can use them in the mountains to assist with climbing and slowing on pintail roads. Haven’t tried it yet. I did try the shift on flat loads, and it’s kind of fun, but it doesn’t give the feedback you get using a shift.

The dual clutch automatic transmission features an automatic clutch that allows you to use paddle shifters (those shift type things behind the steering wheel) to change between the gears. This is only on the dual clutch automatic transmissions that they pair with their turbo engines.

I have a 2019 turbo. White I added the rear spoiler and pinstriped it in red and added hood vents! It is my every driver because I love it . A K&N permanent filter will add 8 hp a 1.5 miles per gallon with synthetic oil! It is my 3 soul in 9 years! I do wish I waited until 20 model year! Love my soul out of 4 vehicles it the one I drive most! ❤❤❤❤😁

Why the heck doesn't KIA turbo the 2.0 it would be as quick as a Mustang. Open up the exhaust system for some good sound. Why make me do it myself put a spoiler on it ! People Love mine and ask all the time where did you get that car. I am 65 years old and I still Love kool!

@@davidgreen4282 hey at least it's a Kia and you know it's covered for 100k right! And Kia hates bad press! They take it personally for bad product! Chevrolet Dodge and Ford just throw you a bone to shut you long enough till the warranty goes out then 🖕 you! And I am a Ford Lover but that's business in our country! 3 years 36 and done!
