Probably one of the quirkiest cars on the market today, we'll explore this Soul and see why it's become a cult icon and why people are so loyal to this fun little hatchback...wagon...toaster...?
You'll love it! My wife had a 2020 Soul Gt line, and I have 2021 Soul GT line, and I only just upgraded to a 21 Soul Turbo because of an accident. Kia announced last week that 20 and 21 Souls have a recall on the engine, but I don't think it includes the Turbo model. I think it affects 1 out of every 100 cars.My only complaint is that both of my Gt Lines developed an interior rattling-like sound at around 30-40 mph. There is some wiring, paneling or something that works loose inside these things. I don't get the Turbo till tomorrow so I can't say much about it, but buy the Turbo..don't get any trim lower or you'll regret it as I have
@@Prxsumo all three we had were snow pearl white. We just have Turbo now. I loved that the Turbo had everything all the other models didn't, but both of our GT lines came with puddle lights and I've yet to see a Turbo with that option ordered. I did buy the lights to add myself though. I've seen lots of GTs and other models but I've yet to see another Turbo. You'd like the smooth shift of the cvt transmission more on all the other models, but I don't mind the dual clutch transmission on Turbo because it's far better performance wise. Turbo nets you the 1.6l turbocharged engine which is only 201 horsepower, but I find that quite powerful in such a small car and the 2.0 is the recalled engine anyway. I think all models are hard touch plastic interior save the Turbo. I have no complaints with the GT or Turbo, but I'd take the Turbo. Sure it's right at 29k but really GT is like 22k or so and you'll miss all the equipment you don't get. I personally like the snow white pearl paint with the red stripes on GT or Turbo, but the black paint looks good too. Red painted GTs or Turbo hide the red stripes, and blue paint with red stripes looks odd to me. I don't like the nose or bumper design of the base or S model and X line and EX aren't any better to me. I think the sportier bumper and nose of Turbo and GT look better and are actually painted to match your car. My only real complaint is that the massive touchscreen can't do full-screen android auto. It's a whopping 10inch screen and android auto should fill the screen
Thanks for the video !!! Old grumpy retired guy here who does not drive as much as when working and younger. Really thinking of trading in our one vehicles for one of these for a great second vehicle. Believe it or not, planning on trading in my Grandpop hot rod ( 2010 Mustang GT Premium/ 5spd manual). I love driving it and rowing through the gears and the rumble of the exhaust. But, kind of feel like as I am getting older need a vehicle easier to get in and out of and also a lot easier to drive as opposed to a manual shift. Also, I feel like I certainly do not need the speed and performance the Mustang delivers. Time for me to give it up and it leave it to the younger crowd who would appreciate and enjoy it more. Our other vehicle is a Ford F-150 Lariat pick up which my wife loves and she drives all of the time. So, still deciding whether to pull the trigger and the price and warranty is certainly really good. Also, it seems to be a good alternative to something like a Ford Escape which seems like everyone on the road is driving.
I drove one of those pocket rockets abs it blew my mind. However we bought my wife the coolest EX model! Our 3rd Soul. Probably by the end of this year I'm buying either a Forte GT turbo which is phenomenal or my own Soul GT Turbo.
By the way you can purchase a performance chip for it and it will add about 60 HP and virtually eliminates delay between shifts..and will not void warranty. I put one on my 15 optima ex 2.4 and now 0-60 is under 7 secs.
I always take criticism. They made valid points. I was restricted by my lack of equipment but I’ve fixed that in current videos! But I appreciate your support and kind words! I’m always trying to do better and put out the best content I can!
Does the recirc button turn off every 3 mins on this version? It does on the 2020 Kia Soul. Drives me crazy. I need my recirc to stay on. Every 3 mins it turns off and starts pumping in exhaust from all the other vehicles in front and then cigarette smoke (and/or pot smoke) and then I have to reset the button and roll down my windows for a minute to get rid of it. It's a ritual I have to do every 3 minutes in my current Soul. I hate this. So frustrating.
Pointless video. You review the Turbo but don't drive it or say anything useful about the only difference between this and the other trim levels THE ENGINE! LOL useless video.
I think it was a great video. The engine however is not the only difference. I don't believe the other models offer the dual clutch transmission, no padel shifters, EX gets the widescreen touchscreen, but I don't know if it's the HK sound system and mood lamps so someone let me know, and I think only Turbo has the red door panels instead of silver. Does EX trim offer LED headlight and taillight because I thought that was only Turbo too?
