I want my car to ride smooth and be quiet. I don’t want to feel bumps. Who’s with me?

When Lincoln revealed this, my initial thought was that it was the first SUV from any brand that actually looks great. A very subjective statement, but I really like the Aviator's proportions and styling. The mid century-inspired interior is a knockout too.

I really appreciate the way you delivered this note; this vehicle does not have to have the most amenities like the other SUVs. E.g. sport mode. I like the comfort ride. We had the MKT and it was very good ride for us.

We had a Navigator and the seats were fine. I think it might be all that massage equipment making for a hard bottom. I'm perfectly fine in just about every other car I ride in.

After 2-1/2 years here is my update on the Aviator. We bought a black label. Pros; love the stereo, quiet, powerful, luxurious drive. Big cons: transmission replaced at 10k miles, trim pieces fall off, those seat bottoms on the 30way massaging seats....god awful, after about an hour you need to get out and rest your poor butt! Deal breaker for us as we wanted to use this car for road trips. All n all, a nice, plush, good looking around town or short drive car. Other than that, I'd pass.

I just spent a weekend trip in my friends Aviator. I thought the seats were very good. Just slightly too small (I'm 6' 220lbs). Took turns driving, and spent 18hrs in it over 4 days (two 8 hr days). Very minor complaints from me.

Not a fan of the 22” rubber, ALL of the manufacturers have swallowed the Chip Foose cool-aide where the huge flashy rims are cool looking …. Hello, it’s a Lincoln, it’s supposed to ride smooth. I’m buying one with 20” rims coz the profile size actually allows some sidewall flex …. Aka comfort. BTW I’m NOT a fan of air suspension with all of its moisture problems in winter and expense, just give me plain old steel springs with adaptive shocks albeit (coz they all come with that! ) BTW FORD/Lincoln dialled back the tow capacity of the 2022 aviator to only 5600lbs … don’t ask me why??? I would never buy an Audi q7 why? … run flats, and required premium fuel. I’m not a pickup truck guy either but looked at the q7 because of its 7700lb tow capacity. This is why I’m looking at the aviator because it does not have run flats and takes regular fuel too I think that’s great! I hate how all of the manufacturers squeeze you into their giant suvs if you want to tow something half decent in size or into a pickup, I hate pickups they are huge and ride and handle like crap and drink too much fuel. That is my rant for the day! You are right there is a niche market for high tow capacity suvs that are not stupidly huge, the Audi and the pathfinder are the only notable standouts in that category. I guess there is no money and the manufacturers want to squeeze me into their 100,000$ suv hello we are empty nesters who don’t need a super sized suv to tow our travel trailer for the two of us.

I’ve had nothing but problems from the day I bought it. After 10 months, Lincoln took it back under my state’s lemon law. I’m so disheartened. Too much money for leaks, screen issues and brake problems.

WRONG!!!!! This platform was developed to underpin both a new Mustang, a rwd Lincoln sedan, and the Aviator and Explorer SUVs. So the Aviator is in fact, built on a car-based platform.Just goes to show how much bulls**t is peddled on RU-vid as "information". The planned Lincoln sedan was scrapped after the demand for domestic sedans plummeted; plans for a new Mustang are up in the air. You now have ZERO credibility.
@nosoupforyou425

Actually was codevelopEd with the new explorer so is a SUV platform.... But you can still be angry 😠
@weyde1
@weyde1 3 года назад
@@nosoupforyou425 Far from angry; just feel it necessary to clear up a small fraction of the disinformation dispensed on this (and similar) platforms. Both the Aviator and Ford Explorer are based on Ford's CD6 architecture, which was not developed to exclusively underpin crossover vehicles. The fact that the Explorer rides on this architecture does not make it an "SUV" platform. The previous Aviator was based on an earlier generation Explore platform, which was a body-on-frame architecture that also underpinned the Explorer Sport Trac pickup. That was a true pickup/SUV platform. The CD6 architecture is flexible enough to be used in numerous applications (including coupes and sedans), which is precisely why the new Explorer and Aviator are true crossover vehicles and not SUVs. Apparently you prefer living in an alternate reality that allows you to believe what you want to believe, despite facts to the contrary, much like someone else whose name I won't mention.
@nosoupforyou425
@nosoupforyou425 3 года назад
@@weyde1 amazing how Ford states otherwise..... CD6 platform is a new modular design to accommodate "drive chains" (rear, front, AWD) of all new SUVs, as in completely redesigned, nothing to do with your claims of sedans as Ford axed them prior to development. So, looks like your facts to contrary are more mist than fact. Gidday! Providing wiki link below showing the error of your ways - not really expecting you to admit your wrong, even if click vehicles associated under the link, all of which are SUVs as Ford designed after they axed sedans...... Just sayin 🤗

@@nosoupforyou425 No information in any of the links you provide refutes my statements regarding the fact that both the Explorer and Aviator are based on an architecture that was developed for possible use in a number of vehicles, not limited to Crossover vehicles, such as the the Explorer and Aviator. You want to provide links to prove your erroneous point, try this one: Definition - A crossover, crossover SUV (CSUV), or crossover utility vehicle (CUV) is a type of sport utility vehicle-like vehicle of unibody construction. ... Compared to truck-based SUVs, they typically have better interior comfort, a more comfortable ride, superior fuel economy, and less off-road capability (.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossover_(automobile). Neither the Ford Explorer, nor the Lincoln Aviator is a "true" SUV. They are both SUV-like and thus crossover vehicles.

Great car if you think $80,000 for 19 days of pleasure is worth it face-fuchsia-tongue-outI p/u a new 2021 Aviator reserve which I fell in love with same as the dude in the video has been bragging about but after 19 days of pure pleasure the entire electrical system went crazy now the vehicle has been in service 3 time for a total of 41/2 months and nothing has been repaired and even more is wrong with it The f------en car is such a piece of sh____It has been nothing but trouble for the last year and a half, Now It is sitting in a storage unit for the last 7 months because its a safety hazard and I will not put my family in it nor will I put the public in danger . Hers just a few of the issues, while driving on the highway the front end starts to shimmy furiously to the point that I have to make my way over to the shoulder. Or all of a sudden the car feels as the brakes are on as I'm driving 100km an hour on the highway Or all of a sudden the back end on the car dips as if the hatch has opened .the screen does not lower its intensity automatically or manually so when your driving at night its literally blinding you . I could name at least 5 other major problems that occur and the worst part of it all .the problems that occur happen randomly you never know when its going to happen so BEWARE!!!!!!!!! I hope I've helped you make a safe decision
