@@maddynorris5105 thank you! Did you test both fwd and awd and decide or did you already know going in you wanted awd? I’m curious to find someone who’s driven both and can tell any difference
Do you think it’s better than the 21 crosstrek limited? Can’t decide between the two. Also waiting for the 250hp turbo to be released, Thanks for your opinion
Thanks for an awesome review of the cx-30. So many choices in this smaller suv/ cross bracket, but you made our decision easier. We went out & bought the premium model in snowflake white pearl straight after watching this. Keep up the great work!
I just bought a 2021 CX-30 Mazda; I decided to go with the Preferred model, in all wheel drive and I am so obsessed with it!!! I love it!!! I've loved Mazda but this car is so sleek!
One of the best reviews i’ve seen! Especially love the exterior shots in the forest, they look so good! And the exterior lighting too, I always like to see how all the headlights, brake lights etc look, and some don’t show them at all, thank you! :)
I don’t like how some You Tube car reviewers bashed this car. I have a 2020 CX-30 premium trim with the cylinder deactivation feature and let me tell ya. First off when my cylinder deactivation is on I can’t tell, there is no disruption of the motor, no rattles and my car has already 20k, bought it at 7k miles. Mazda recommends 36 PSi for all four tires, I bumped it up to 40 psi and the ride is about the same, a tad bit harsher but I like that. Anyhow, on my last gas tank I got a whopping 421 miles range!! Using adaptive cruise control often and keeping the rpm’s below 2k rpm, not driving slow in front of other drivers. 80% highway driving and the rest city. The other day I took a hard corner and the car went side ways ( oversteer is awesome for driving enthusiasts ) as if it was a rear wheel drive car, it put a big smile on my face. The center console and the door arm rest padding are softer and more comfortable than the one in my Audi. Never go by what the EPA says for fuel economy. My miles range read 390 miles to empty, usually you see 250 miles range like the one on this video. I’m a petrol head and this car is extremely well rounded. You don’t need a turbo on this car to have fun with it. Peace.
@@Mrtellitlikeitis it does feel slow lol.... but I don’t need the turbo in the mountains....I LOVE my CX-30! It’s more my size anyway.... the 6 was a huge car for me.... but I did love that turbo, not going to lie! I almost got the Miata....but went with the CX-30 instead.... between it and my 4X4 Geo Tracker I’m set for the snowy mountain life! 💞💞
Select trim seems like the way to go if you don't want to deal with typical sunroof problems that crop up & don't need/want heated/power seats. I will likely pick up a 2022 model CX-30 in the near future, as I haven't been as happy with my 2020 Toyota Corolla SE Sedan as I thought I would be.
I believe the Preferred also has the sun/moon roof, not just the premium model. :) and unfortunately there's no BOSE speakers in the preferred models. :(
You provide solid numbers on braking and other stats. Have you considered adding a crawl or posting the stats somehow in the video? Great Review! I'm considering this ride and waiting on the turbo.
The 2021 preferred does not come with the bose system anymore instead u get a moonroof and the only way to get the bose system is to go for the premium.
I hate how Mazda gives you leather seats on the Select trim CX-30 and 3 but doesn’t make them heated. Such a cheap and odd omission considering the cx-3 and cx-5 Touring (without sun/sound preferred packages) came standard with them.
Heated seats are dumb. Why would anyone want to sweat and feel disgusting butthole sweat while driving. It doesn’t go below 30°f anywhere here anyways. /s
I Get mine on Thursday, but saleslady can hardly speak a word of English here in Thailand, but I've watched about 50 videos of the car plus I'm a mechanic to trade, long time ago.One question nobody can tell me.I've got a USB stick with 2000 songs on it.Can I plug it in and play all my favourite music.I have an ISUZU Mu 7 stereo system in my car which I fitted and does everything,CD,USB,Radio blah ,blah blah but hope I can play my sounds, not a radio fan
2:58 the cup holders on the engine are a nice touch for when doing routine maintenance. They look just the right size for a 12 oz can of your favorite beer.
It appears the Select trim comes standard with blue/black interior, but the select I just got was all black…hmm. I have to wonder what was up with that…could it have been custom ordered but then was not wanted?
I have a new '21 CX30...........Only one serious complaint........Drivers seat is too skinny and side bolsters pinch My legs............I have read about complaints that there is NO touch screen.........I thank God for that..........You CANNOT reach a touchscreen while driving thru potholes............Mazda's simple buttons system could not be better.......You need not even lift Your Arm off the Hugh armrest to opperate it..........Just one of the things Mazda got right............Paul
I have a new 21".............Live and learn........Isn't near as comfortable as the forrester I traded in.............Otherwise, Pretty nice.......Paul
One of my concerns is the rear suspension on rough roads. How bumpy is it? My Volvo handles them well as it has practically the same suspension found in the Mazda 6.
We just got the premium technology turbo plus and it does have the 360-degree camera with trajectory assistance. It a shame most people won't be enjoying this feature. It is the most useful feature besides the heads-up display projected on the windshield.
my main complaint about the backup camera is that it is super tiny...I have pretty good eye sight but have to squint sometimes to see it. That big screen and all that wasted space they could have made the backup camera screen much larger
how do u activate or use Lane Keep Assist on select model? also does it put u back in the lane or give u a little notch towards the middle of the road?
The good news is that CX-30 sales are a semi-bright spot for Mazda with about 17,000 US sales in the first half of 2020. The bad news is that it owes much of that sales success to the collapse of sales of the CX-3. (Sales down 30% in 2020 to 4757 sales.) The CX-30 may also have hurt the sales of the Mazda3 hatchback. Mazda doesn't break out the Mazda3 hatchback vs the sedan but the combined sales of both models are down 43% in 2020 to a total of a bit more than 16,000 units. The Mazda3 is a relevant rival due to the fact that it provides virtually the same cargo space behind the second row (20.1 vs 20.2 cubic ft) and slightly more total cargo space (47.1 cf vs 45.2 cf) in a vehicle about two and a half inches longer than the CX-30. If one is interested in a Mazda in this size category a head-to-head comparison between the CX-30 and the Mazda3 hatch is obviously called for. An even more relevant comparison in terms of "utility" (the "U" in SUV) is the KIA Seltos. The KIA is one inch shorter than the CX-30 while offering 32% more cargo space behind the second row (26.6 cf vs 20.2 cf) and 39% more overall cargo space (62.8 cf vs 45.2 cf). Not only does the CX-30 "not offer the most (cargo space) in its class," (8:50), it ranks at the bottom of the category. On the other hand, the Seltos leads the category with more overall cargo space than the CX-5 (59.6 cf) in the larger compact SUV category. (Seven inches longer than the Seltos.) All in all, like other Mazda CUVs, the CX-30 is attractive vehicle that sacrifices overall and efficient allocation of interior space and "utility" for a stylish profile and in its higher trims appealing materials and features. The strategy has been spectacularly unsuccessful in the CX-9 where sales lag far behind rivals. More successful in the CX-5 though sales are down compared to 2019. Whether the CX-30 is a success on its own or simply steals sales from the Mazda models is yet to be seen. P.S. Mazda has announced they will add optional turbocharging to the engine in the Mazda3 and CX-30 at the end of 2020 in an effort to boost sales. Mazda has also sought loans of $2.8 billion from Japanese banks to bolster its resources. Adding turbo models to the "3" and the CX-30 will mean that Mazda offers the same engine in the Mazda3 and CX-30 as that found in the CX-5, the Mazda6, and the CX-9. All of which makes the question of whether the models will improve overall sales or simply cannibalize the sales of existing models.
@Richard Favreau What makes you think Mazda's dismal sales "makes (me) happy?" I've owned four Mazdas over the years and I like the brand. But I've also owned three Saabs over that period and I have experience with what happens to a great automotive brand when slow sales lead first to absorption by a larger competitor and then extinction, altogether. Facts are facts and like climate change ignoring them doesn't make them go away despite the example of the current administration in Washington.
@John Q. No doubt that's true. Mazda's problem is that cannibalizing the sales of its volume selling models doesn't help the brand dig themselves out of the dismal overall sales of it overall lineup.
@John Q. Having owned 4 Mazdas over the years I agree. And after watching what GM did to my beloved Saab brand I'll never forgive them. But sentiment has very little influence in the mainstream automotive universe. I'm not optimistic about Mazda's future. I hope I'm wrong.
Stephen Hendricks lol climate change is part of gods plan bro- the Bible addresses it. It’s hardly as important as other more immediate issues that Trump is working on. Trump 2020.
