I got my bike Dyno tuned a few months back, was unhappy with how it turned out. Decided to do it the way I should have originally, which is VCycle. Appreciate the video. Just ordered mine today with the same filter lid & shipping the ecu out tomorrow. The extra pickup in the mid range sounds nice, especially since less than 10% of my riding is Highway

David (owner Vcyclenut) will take care of you. He’s a a master with the MT series. My bike is a beast from 3-7k. I can be in 6th gear going 30 and just roll on the throttle. Appreciate you watching and commenting

would be great to show a dyno run with the numbers you get before and after :P , a bit late for the before part i guess but how abt the after ? like your video's by the way keep em coming :)

Thank you. Appreciate the feedback. Yeah didn’t get a chance to put it on a dyno yet. But David over at Flashed by Vcyclenut has done plenty of dyno runs. Based on his results I estimate I picked up about 8hp

This is also available for the MT09 SP 2020 - pity it is not street-legal in our country… Really love the mod - would be curious to see the whp at the rollers after a proper flash tune 😉🏁🏁

I have not had it on the Dyno yet. But we estimate that this combined with the exhaust and David from Vcyclenut flash I gained 6-8HP.
@georgewashington7574
@georgewashington7574 8 месяцев назад
The 1-2hp gained by the filter isn’t really justified by the $500 cost. I’ll keep mine stock.
@SirMountainpass
@SirMountainpass 7 месяцев назад
@@georgewashington7574 It is the combo of a performance filter, a full Akra (or Austin Racing) system and and a pro-tune of the CP3’s fuelling that will result in a respectable gain of 10-15 whp . On top, you can bring down the weight of the bike by 8-10 kgs. This can definitely be felt in the twisties and up a demanding pass 😎✌️🏁

@@haneymoto Absolutely! Thank you for getting ahold of your fans ❤️ Quick question 🙋‍♂️ If you wanted to replace the filter, you would need to replace that entire top piece, right?

@@ADVRSRY You are correct. The stage two filter replaces the entire cover.

@@haneymoto Let me rephrase- when the stage 2 air filter gets old, do you have to buy another stage two or is it reusable? I didn’t see any replacements on their website - or perhaps I’m just blind

@@ADVRSRY yes. when it's finally worn out you will need to replace the entire thing. The good news is it's serviceable. so you can clean it and re-oil it over and over again. Should last many years.

Hi there, very good & useful video to watch. I got 1 question here. If you go ride on a rainy day, will the water go inside the filter? Since the air duct is direct to the filter. Thanks

Does the DNA instructions plug the drain hole in the lower half of the airbox? I think at about 3:00 you can see the hole in the right side of the air box which is normally on the "dirty" side of the OEM air filter, but since the stage 2 filter is a lid, that actually is just unfiltered outside air that can go straight to the velocity stacks. I didn't install my stage 2 filter initially, I had a shop do that, but I'm now really curious if they missed something or I missed something.
@haneymoto
@haneymoto 5 месяцев назад
No. Nothing about plugging the drain hole. A year and a half with no issues and it’s such a small hole I’m not worried about the little bit of unfiltered air that might be coming in. Plus I trust the engineers at DNA. Appreciate you watching and commenting

I hear bike looses a bit of torque in the low to mid range with air filter mods ?? Wondering if this is true
@haneymoto
@haneymoto Год назад
I believe it’s actually the opposite. You gain in the low to mid ranges but might loose a little at the top end. I don’t have any experience with just the intake changes. I went from stock to exhaust, air filter and ECU flash from Flashed by Vcyclenut. David is the master when it comes to tuning these bikes. Here is a link to his testing that has a ton of information www.vcyclenut.com/intake-testing.html Appreciate you watching and commenting

Hey Josh! I'm a big guy too - 6'2", 300lbs & I'm thinking about an MT09. Will it be too small for me do you think?

@@haneymoto thanks for responding Josh. I've got a Ninja 1000sx which is a great all-round bike & good value but it is heavy. I'm in my mid sixties & a bike under 200kg appeals to me thus considering a MT09. All the best from The UK.

How safe is this under rain or while washing
@haneymoto

When washing I’m always careful if anywhere water isn’t supposed to go. But that was true before the upgrades. As for rain only got caught once so far in bad rain. No adverse effects because very little water makes it into the area
