I’m on the verge of getting one myself. But before I do, I must ask, does the allure only come with front and reversing parking sensors or does it come with that a reversing camera as well?

Im currently on a Niro PHEV which goes back in November , i think the 2008 is the best looking EV car out there. The only thing stopping me ordering one now , is im worried they release a 64kw version after i order mine.
I was in Tijuana, Mexico when one of these units rolled up to a restaurant that I was sitting in and my jaw dropped; especially, after I found out that it had a 3 cylinder engine. I'm a huge auto enthusiast and I actually bought a totally awesome, highly functional, highly fuel efficient and low emissions 3 cylinder Daihatsu Boon when I lived in Japan solely because, for an American auto enthusiast, a 3 cylinder car is as exotic as a 16 cylinder car because you just don't encounter them in North America, other than the extremely rare BMW I8 in LA.

It is awesome, a huge leap forward over the previous model. I had the original 2008 then the facelifted model now I have the GT Line in pearlescent white.

Im happy with my Peugeot 2008 2018, so I will get my 2008 2021 in a couple of months. One huge factor is the looks, besides that I have good experience.
Good review Nicola, I bought a GT Line in Pearlescent White in 2020 You complain about having to use the touch screen to use the air con. Why not use the voice control to set temperature? You made no mention of this. Got to say it is a great car, having owned the two previous versions this is a huge leap forward.
@@themanwithinflatableknees8770 Press the button on steering wheel and tell it to reduce temperature, it works fine. Also it can navigate, change radio station or play music from flash drive plugged into usb socket. Handy feature but nowhere as good as Mercedes mbux system
I drive a 2017 2008 GT Line and I have grown to like it just sorry I wasn't patient enough to find an automatic. I will give this successor a serious look maybe next year. Still not sure about the electric version though.

I wanted to answer you about the time I’ve been advised to wait , well , I ordered it at 19 of July and it’s been like 2 months already , they told me that I have to wait for like 4 months , so I hope there’s 2 more months to go.

Nice video! And the car is really cool too, with one large but... I was eyeing for used 3008 as prospective candidate for my wife's next commuter, but I was appalled how expensive a reasonable mileage used 3008s were. Then I started looking at 2008s, at first I was delighted to see Peugeot's still offering a sensible alternative in my country (diesel one), but then I was bemused how expensive it was! Over 32k€ without much of extras!!! At that price I'd at least expect to get a 4WD, but no. =(
I James - I also found that 3008 and 2008 are v expensive (good news is of course that they hold their price). If you look at my comment, I shopped around on the Internet. Spoticar were good as I wanted approved used. I live near Southend and found two 2008s in emaculate condition: one in Plymouth, the other in Leamington Spa each was £5000 less than prices for same spec higher mileage cars from my local Peugeot dealer. I contacted the dealer in Leamington and they were great - sent me a personal walk around video and a copy of the vehicle history (which they had servied from new - got everything.about the car). So there are cheaper good deals out there if you shop around and are prepared to travel
I hired one of these recently and I really struggled with it. Hesitant auto box, weird steering wheel & driving position, but the biggest problem was that I found the driver’s seat very hard & uncomfortable. I’m not a fan of the interior either - too showy & fussy. Wish I’d had a VW Golf instead.
liked the review but got fed up with you praising the Puma and Captur,! I struggled to get in & out of the Captur? we've test tried all of them (as well as Kona and Niro) for looks there's no comparison, the 2008 is a different class, in style and quality inside and out! Nicola, you're wrong on this one mate.
You can upgrade the sound system to a Focal unit though you lose the spare wheel as the subwoofer goes in its place. The standard system is pretty good though.
I love the look of these cars i like the orange colour,but the blue looks amazing.This could be my next car but a used one.This car looks great,spacious,comfortable etc.Btw Nicole you look great too sorry just saying lol.
Is the facelift Skoda Superb Estate on your list ? Interested to know how much worse the NVH is compared to premium brands like 5/A6/E as a top spec one is the same price as a lower/mid range premium one. Thanks
Thank you for the nice review. The Peugeot is not my first choice, but it's way better than the germans. The Renault Captur and this 2008 with the Ford Puma are the best.
The high door frame sill is very high for anyone like me that has mobility issues and the lack of steering wheel movement made the getting in and out of the driving seat difficult. Not a car for those lacking mobility. I’ll stick with the Makkah which gives access and egress higher up the list.
Capture doesn’t look really this good so yes ofcourse is more cheaper..entry level motor is crap,interior quality the same.. ..if you compare the small price e diference of the top model you will consider the Peugeot because of the better looks and overall quality
The Peugeot 2008 is a small SUV that I may buy because I'm single and don't carry people nor passengers (not even friends lol my car is literally where I get to have my own personal time) but over here in my country, the price is too expensive because of my country's protectionism policy for the local automobile companies.
@@carbuyer anything made by the local car manufacturers of course 😂 imagine annual salary for a fresh graduate of 36,000. A local car manufacturer can offer a subcompact sedan at starting price of 45,000 whereas models within the same class (subcompact sedan) offered by Honda, Nissan and Toyota start at around 75,000. High excise duty, add on with our currency's relative low exchange rate AND stagnant wage since the 1980s. Guess how most people afford to buy new cars? Hire purchase of 9 years is a norm, not because people want to, but we are stuck with little to no choice (even the 45,000 subcompact sedan requires monthly instalment of around 450 per month over 9 years). Most warranties for new vehicles end by 5 years so during year 6 - 9, you pray hard the car does not break on you 😂
I have the new 2008 with the 3 tiger lights as i call them. Its a 1.2 petrol and to be honest i can't fault it except one thing a reversing camera which it hasn't got if peugeot put one it would be a crscking car
The French car makers offer an outstanding short-term leasing program for vacationers in Europe from the US, but none of them market their cars here (as far as I can tell) so here I am on RU-vid. This one is available for an astounding US $20 per day on a 90 day (Schengen sucks) lease, but only with a diesel if you want a manual transmission. Any thoughts on that drive train would be appreciated. Oh, and I can surely put up with that wonky steering wheel for three months . . . but why Peugeot, why? 😎
@@TheLordofcod Because the statistics support that... even the dogs on the street know that. Diesel car sales in the UK suffered another cataclysmic sales drop of around 55 per cent from 2019 to 2020.
@@BobMartinsback yeah you are probably judging by UK,which has almost identical prices between diesel-petrol. In many other countries, including my country Greece, diesel costs 1.2€ per litre, while petrol costs 1.5€ per litre. To make it international units, to fill my petrol Alfa romeo of 60lt tank, I need 90€. If it was diesel I would need 72€. If you consider that I do 15.000km annually (10k miles) this would save me an extra half a salary! Please consider all markets before judging car brands policies.
@@TheLordofcod Carbuyer is a UK reviewer, I live in the UK, so yes, I'm judging by the UK. In the UK, it's way more complicated that fuel price differential. The VW emissions scandal had a catastrophic effect on the image of diesel here in the UK, factor in the move towards electrification (hybrid and electric cars are already outselling diesels here), and many manufacturers have restricted their range of diesels and in a few cases removed diesel-powered models here altogether.
