All Ram needs to do is create a checklist that they can provide the dealerships to go over before delivery to the customer. Granted the factory shouldn't be sending our subpar product but this can help catch items with another second set of eyes. This isn't hard to do.

Awesome video. Great info! In regards to the exhaust sound. My 2019 Ram 2500 6.4 had that same sound but would go away after it was fully warmed up. I was told on a Ram FB page and by an exhaust guy that the noise is normal. Thanks to California laws all 3/4 ton and up rated chassis with gas burner motors have to have a baffle added to the exhaust to reduce noise.

that exhaust tick isnt really a tick, its the way the trucks sound because of the Y Pipe. My 2017 has sounded that since new. I build about 200 of these so far, its pretty common on the trucks.

Great video man, that is absolutely unreal. I said on day one that I don't trust ram or fiat to build an offroad truck, the abuse they take is unreal and with their quality it just seems unsafe. First model year problems are expected on anything but not to this extent, especially for a 100k "offroad" truck.

I will be definitely climbing under my truck with a flashlight when I take delivery. Thanks for the heads up. I had 4 Wheel Parts not connect shocks before on a JK with a suspension upgrade did the same thing. Also when I ordered my TRX in January, the dealer was unable to add the Bead Locks.

Just bought a new 2021 on Father's day. Drove almost home 30-45 minutes. Felt like transmission was skipping gears in Auto mode. Switched it to sport and engine bogged down and threw a check engine light. Called dealership to have them flat bed it back and returned the truck. They pulled the codes and said it's the transmission but have no idea what is wrong with the truck and are waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. I loved it for minute or two it ran properly.

Heard that same tick on one sitting in a taco bell before it drove off pretty crazy I thought for a trx to be already having some sounds like that.

I'm thinking of getting one before the end of the year, but when the time comes & I have not heard any positive changes, I'm getting a Ford as plan.

First time ram has made a truck like this (on a reasonably large scale). Some issues are to be expected. Having the new fancy truck before everyone else is only a good idea in thought.

The tick is just a ram truck issue it's due to the stainless and the length and routing needed for the headers it can amplify the valvetrain noise.

I also will have a 650 mile drive home from MI to NJ if my truck ever gets built. I’m starting to reconsider taking that drive and just have shipped so I don’t get stranded somewhere

I've owned Toyota,Subaru,Nissan,Honda cars and trucks over the past 40 years .Had some for near 10 years and thousands of miles and never dealt with that bullshit. That trx looks awesome but reliability is the number one reason I would not buy American. Great country but not the cars. Thank you for your honesty.

My 6.4 hemi ram 2500 makes the same noise. Its due to the resonators holding to much back pressure until it gets hot.

My 2015 was missing the nut on the ball joint. Came lose while driving down the road a month after purchase. After the dealer inspected the truck, the knuckle had no impression from a nut. No response or call back from Ram after calling them multiple times.

My 2019 Ram Limited when i purchased it new. i did not notice my truck was missing the rear push down bedstep was never installed i never notice it until 6 month later i was looking at my MSRP sticker and saw it on there. When back to the dealership to get them to get me one. they said there need to charged me because to long before i said something

After seeing the shock pin points going down the line, the road test. I think arguably most important, the dealer's PDI (pre delivery inspection ) That shock setting on the drive shaft like that, would have been easily caught, as your video pointed out. I don't drink the cool aid of any brand, I have Toyotas, RAM's and a GMC at home in my stable at the moment. One of my Toyota's is being swapped out for my TRX. That said, I honestly think there was likely a bolt in, even when it arrived at the dealer and went through PDI. I am thinking it was likely a defective bolt or nut or machine that didn't get that nut on their tight, possibly cross threaded, stripped out threads what have you. I thinking it fell out after delivery. Your right, they drive it at the plant, outside the plant, in and out of trucks and trains, then the Dealer service tech drives it as part of the PDI process. No way that shock laying on the drive shaft would not have been making some noticeable noise.

Butter, did the field rep come up with any conclusions with regard to the tick? Bought my TRX yesterday, and put it in the shop immediately for the tick, 50miles on the ODO. The valve tick goes away with 100rpm added to the idle, 3 more PSI of oil pressure.. mine only does it, on the left bank, and when in gear, as it drops the rpm, and oil pressure. Seems like a tolerence issue that shows up when the lifters are seeing lower oil pressure, that or bleedback in the lifter.

Part of the problem is that FCA sold this truck possibly knowing of vendor supply issues. Then once these came to light, instead of just be open, it appears they just stayed the course. Did they push their workers and plant managers to make quota no matter what? Keeping in mind that dealers and customers were putting ever louder complaints to get FCA to fulfill their promise. Also, there was the up coming Ford Raptor that had to be kept in mind. I am reasonably sure, that any momentum that had been was in danger of losing steam by the constant delays. Some of the production issues may have been out of FCA's control, but being open and honest with all those awaiting this truck is totally on them. Take a picture, this how you mess up a launch and your reputation.

I've seen these kinds of things at a Chevrolet Dealership, so it can and does happen!

This ticking is very easy to solve, it's not a problem at all, I know how to solve it!

Ben hardy’s channel owns a TRX and it recently broke down on his recorded videos live. Don’t buy pilot year vehicles especially on pandemic times. Always purchase last model year production.

Would you recommend it more than the F150? You know I’ve been hearing that exhaust noise on almost every review video from other RU-vidrs. My guess is that the TRX has a different header design and gasket material than the other hellcat engine vehicles. So it may be making that noise. Cause no other hellcat vehicle manes that exhaust ticking noise. Just my thought 🤷🏻‍♂️

Currently have a 2019 Ram 1500 limited trading it a Raptor 37 package. Was going to get a Trx but Ram service sucks.

After 2-3 years, that ticking noise looks like it's "normal" in Hemi engines?

It’s part of owning a FCA product. Build quality and dealership service will make you a one time owner.

Im leaning towards the power wagon any issues with the power wagon.

QC was on vacation? lot of things that could be fixed before delivery...

Ok I’m not saying those issues are acceptable but I noticed every brand new ram 2500 with the 6.4 has the same tick noise, so I think it’s normal exhaust manifold noise. the assembly line won’t stop to address issues because it would delay production and cost them millions of dollars. All of the issues should have been caught at the dealership at the pre delivery inspection but the problem these trucks are they being rushed through the process because customers want them the day they are delivered to the dealership. All I’m saying is give the dealer ample time to properly inspect it before you take delivery.

Was just talking with my salesman here what he said “Still no official update as of this morning. Of course, I have another truck that the computer told us would be delivered March 2nd. That truck showed up today. The computer tells me it is still in the framing stage. Since I sat in it myself and drove it across the parking lot, I am pretty sure the computer is probably incorrect.” Wonder how many dealers have incorrect info in their system

If you knew the people that work in the TRX assembly plant, then you'd understand why the TRX is having issues related to the assembly line. Let's just say, the quality of work directly reflects the quality of the person responsible for it. And no, the axle wrap dampener does not "hold the rear end" up in the vehicle. The link system does that work.

And some of those trucks might be in the Philippines since they sell them here

the new Rams are nice and all, they got a lot of tech and nice interiors but I still don’t trust FCA’s build quality/reliability... they might have a ton of money but it doesn’t matter if they cheap out on parts or aren’t built right... would rather stick with Ford and GM, they’ve been building trucks for decades and know how to do it right, theres a reason why GM and Ford trucks are the best selling vehicles in America every year

The people at the assembly line really piss me off they are so lazy. My dad bought a TRX and it has squeaky brake clips and a rattle coming from the passenger door. I recently bought a 2021 Laramie and they already had to change the squeaky brake clips and pads. I also have bad door gaps and interior pieces that are falling off. They should really stop being lazy and build these trucks properly especially for the price that you pay for them.

I mean is anyone surprised? lol 99% of the dudes working in the plant drink 3 half pints of liquor on their shift. 😭

I was gone buy a ram truck till they got arrogant with me. Dodge products have been having issues with their trucks and other vehicles for years now. I thought about giving them another shot but ill stick with toyota or ford

Well I was excited about picking my TRX up in 2 weeks. So I guess Dodge is still junk? Last dodge I had was a viper and it was the poorest quality vehicle I’ve ever owned.
