2021 Silverado 3.0L Duramax Diesel 1,000 Mile Review 

Like he said. "Get off the fence." I've got one and I love it. 25-28 MPG... you can't beat it.

I got myself an RST Duramax last month and it drives like a champ. Took a 4 hour trip and it rode very well. Very excellent truck!

Just picked up my AT4 3.0 Saturday. I ordered one from my local dealer but the order was conditional from the factory as they have limited supplies and can only build certain spec trucks. My dealer tried to “lot trade” but no one want to let go of their very limited supply, so I hit the ol interwebs and found what I was looking for 400 miles away that was in transit. I had to wait two weeks as the train that it was on was in Texas, it then hit Detroit and went to Maple Grove Minnesota to get on a car hauler to its final dealership destination. After driving up to get in my 2015 GMC 2500 slt that gets 11-12 mpg the drive home was extremely nice watching the mpg read 22 mpg ( I had a strong head wind and was average 75-90 mph) , it’s only gotten better and my in town average over the last two days is up to 25 mpg. I have a 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 with the diesel and it has been solid with the exception of a faulty inner tailgate latch release button on the multi-pro tailgate, which is on order and will be here in a few days. Everything else has performed flawlessly. The truck rides great for a truck. The seats are pretty comfy. The sound system is great! Love the HUD. Love the remote-start feature! The torque is amazing and it gobbles-up hills without even being phased. I average 19.5 mpg with 50/50 mixed city and highway driving... cruising at 75 to 80 mph on the highway. I just passed 1,000 miles myself the other day, and had the free 1'st oil change at dealership performed to get the break-in oil out. Love my truck and I'm happy to hear that you are loving yours as well!

Keep in mind that not all stations have the green pump handle for Diesel fuel. Filled my truck up with Gasoline once from a green handled pump. Now I look and make sure is says Diesel

Yeah I have the exact same truck but it’s a LTZ and so far it’s been great

I really love the 3.0L but Chevy dealerships’ lots are empties.

I bought my '21 RST in November. The dealer didn't have any in stock, but I had already done the research and found 'my' truck in Nebraska (I live in KC). Made the deal after I test drove a '20 High County. Three weeks later the truck arrived, but it wasn't the one from NE (weird story), this truck was from OK and was similarly equipped. Dealers can get trucks from other dealers and you can still get great deals. I did!

I have 16k on my AT4 with the 3.0. Mileage sucks in the winter period. Nothing you can do about it. Expect to increase it by about 3-4mpg average once you're not idling warming up, running the defrost, cold tranny/bearings etc... I live in NE Wisconsin and had no issues in the - temps.

I got an at4 5.3. Debated on the diesel option. Should have gone diesel honestly. Currently debating trading it in for a diesel truck now lol

I got the Westin wheel to wheel nerf steps on my RST. Had to learn to lead with my left foot, but otherwise no problem.

Just ordered my 2021 rst 3.0l with crew cab 6.5 box loaded up 8-10 weeks till its here

Been seeing 23 mpg in mine. That’s 4x4 but not the z71 with 2 speed transfer case. Got the havok hs3’s for steps. Love um. Next is a Diamond back cover. Great truck,. Keep up the vids

Where did you get the Diesel fuel cap?. Please respond I have a 2021 G.M.C. Just turned 2000 miles ....on my first road trip it got 34 M.P.G. I'm very impressed.

I ordered from Amazon, Smartliner Mats # SA0400, $80 for front buckets. On my 17' I had Weathtech mats IMHO I think these are thicker and fit better. I like the fact that the outside edge covers over the Z71 rocker cover. No salt mess what so ever.

Funny how u say it’s a little to tall. To me it’s still way to short. Up here in the Sierra Nevada when we get over 5 ft of snow and they do shitty job of plowing a extra few inches wld get me wayyy more places.

Mpg will get better as is breaks in and you get rid of winter blend diesel. What rear end did you get, is it the max tow

How much DEF did you use ??

Did it come with those wheels? Generally I believe those are RST wheels...love my 3.0!

Nice truck. I have a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 3.0. It was purchased last April and has 30k miles on it. I average about 28 mpg but it goes down in the winter to about 25 mpg because of where I leave on the east coast they add the winterizer additive to the diesel. Been an awesome truck so far. I have towed my step sons BWM twice and doing that I average 22 mpg. Enjoy the truck.
