@@AsianPetrolhead Exactly, and I do love the look of the new Rexton, a far cry from Ssangyongs from 15 years ago. It is also worth mentioning that unlike the Hyundai Palisade, the Rexton is a proper off-road vehicle since it is a true 4WD with low range, and apparently they are popular for offroading in Korea and certain other parts of the world. Subscribed!

I agree mate. The 2021 Rexton looks great, but the competition is too strong. What is worrying me is the lack of dealerships, bankruptcy issues and history of ownership changes. Therefore if I purchased this, fast forward 5-8 years, it may be difficult to buy spare parts and the resale value would be really low.

@@johnjones5784 We have this law in Oz, every model sold has to be backed up with spares for 10 years and they ignored that. They made unexpected high sales because of its price and its looks and signed contracts, but they did not even have so many cars in stock. They took the deposits and could not fulfill the contract's delivery date and the people wanted their money back - it was a big uproar and that killed the brand even right from its beginnings. Their yesteryears Mercedes engines and gearboxes fitted 4x4 was however a great hit and that saved their existence Down Under. Right now, not many dealers want to take them on anymore and the Chinese pushed themselves strongly into the market with their 7 year warranty, while Ssangyong only has a 5 years warranty. Hyundai and Kia hiked up their warrantys also to 7 years and they go now stronger than ever, overtaking Toyota's sales. Toyota is just hanging on to be the top seller in Australia. First, they cost too much and now they also can not deliver so Hyundai goes in for the kill.

@@canadianaviator I hope so as well, they are such underrated vehicles, and they seem to be the only Korean manufacturer who specialises in true 4x4s and pick up trucks, which are popular in North America, as well as here in Australia. They actually brought out Korea's first crew cab pickup back in 2001, the Musso Sports.

That's EXACTLY what I was going to say. This vehicle has the front that the Palisade should have had. I'm also impressed with the amount of technology they squeezed into it. If I could offer one criticism, one can tell that there is an abundance of hard plastic used. You can tell even under the cover of darkness. Ssangyong should offer more for a vehicle costing more than 40k.
