Two comments: With green being hot, will the Hulk AP be the hottest Marvel/AP release that comes out. And I’m just waiting for AP to make one of the Marvel characters arms be the minute/hour hands on a watch....and have it look good hahah
Dude, RM sponsors Ferrari’s F1 team. That means RM is paying Ferrari. And part of the sponsorship deal probably allows RM to use the Ferrari brand for a limited number of watches. Also, “RM put McLaren on the map”....you’re kidding right? Anyone with even the slightest knowledge of motor sports is as familiar with McLaren as they are with Ferrari. Bruce McLaren is a racing legend.
I think where the confusion here is not specifically talking about F1 motor sports...it’s Richard Milles “Ferrari” watch they are releasing as a limited edition soon. And we were discussing how that collaboration works when “Ferrari” puts its name on a “Richard Mille watch. Yes of course RM pays F1 car teams to put there name on their cars.
@@adriantaskin Not to belabor the point, but I'm pretty certain the whole "collab" thing is solely because RM is now one of Ferrari's sponsors. Ferrari's primary focus is winning F1 championships and maintaining its brand. Selling road cars is a very distant second. Given how rabidly protective they are of their brand, it's more like RM was allowed the honor (from Ferrari's perspective) to use their name on a watch ;). Also, RM is still a McLaren sponsor this season so we might not be done seeing McLaren + RM models.
@@adelbagli I dont get your road cars comment. If you were talking about Benetton F1 I would understand that obviously selling Benetton cars that do not exist is not the point. But the whole purpose of F1 Ferrari is to have some of that racing glory rub off onto their consumer products. How else would Ferrari make money and sustain itself other than selling road cars, watches, caps, sweatshirts, etc etc....?
I'm the one who keeps saying its Lang-uh. I'm not German either, born and raised in New York. It's not about whether you speak their language or not, it's just the way it's pronounced. It shows a respect for their language and customs. Not asking you to learn the whole language, just the name of the brand you sell.
As someone who speaks German, I can safely say that when English speakers try to pronounce a lange söhne the 'german way', it sounds silly and worse than if they pronounce it in the Englishified way. You might think you're pronouncing it correctly, but you're not.
There are probably 3 different ways to pronounced JLC. I think Anthony de Haas, the Director of Product Development at A. Lange & Söhne, who by the way is Dutch, would be happier if you actually know about the brand's history rather than being fixated on the pronunciation. Saying the name in the native accent does not really show respect. Respect comes from understanding their history, and philosophy on watchmaking.
That 185 Reverso has a cherry on top you guys should have mentioned---it's "box" has built-in mechanical setter to update every complication (forwards the settings to catch up however many days the watch went without power).
Come on Adrian Richard Mille does pay Ferrari and McLaren as they are a sponser for the F1 teams And Richard Mille did not and cannot put McLaren on the spotlight they are one of the most successful F1 teams they have 8 constructor championships and 12 driver championships love the show by the way
you guys are too funny the way you go back and forth the way Roman cuts you off the more sips he takes the more Adrian wants to take more drinks as it goes on lol just love it
If you people love spending more for watches give this a thumbs up. I don't get it. The grey market drives prices through the roof. Roman tells you he buys pieces out the back door for more money to sell it to you. And you like it. Can I have some of your money?
I love the show, awesome reviews. But I’m sorry, as a car enthusiast, Richard Mille didn’t put McLaren or lotus on the map. These are iconic sports cars bands that have a long racing history.
The Lange movement morphed from a movement from the 1920s. I wonder if it wasn't a pocket watch movement in the early days? That might account for the size. Beautiful movement made by one of the iconic watchmakers out of Patek originally.
Watches and Whiskey is my absolute fav. Always entertaining and casual; smart dialog. Nothing being sold and the big brother little brother thing you two have going really works; I would not go as far as Wally and the Beaver, but at times i wonder...
@@guitar911rock yeah you see a lot of the real classy old-money in suits walking around with those goofy thing on.... like James Bond types. Lol, no you see people buy them who got rich quick and didn't need to work hard for their money (rappers/athletes/musicians), and are soon to be poor - or were given them for free.
@@MrSchn3ll lol at soon to be poor! you guys want people to be as broke as you so bad.. athletes literally have to outwork and be more talented than everyone else unlike the people on wall streets who are literally a boys club reserved for whites & jews
@@marcelohendrix6139 yeah, athletes are also really well known to save and build their wealth…. You think these guys wearing RM’s will be in their 70’s still wearing that goofy thing on their wrist? They have a shelf life and they are a fad for people with more money than brains.
@@MrSchn3ll yes, this is not the early 2000s anymore. the number of athletes going broke has decreased significantly.. people who bought RMs 3-4years ago and sold them have made a great deal of money so one would argue they’ve more brains than the wall street guys
Only deal that makes sense for Richard Mille & Ferrari is a marketing revenue percentage over a stipulated time months/years in perpetuity, from various areas which can pay via dividends. Imo an angle of approach for a design sense would be for RM to focus on expanding an individual component of the engineering process, because showcasing the entire engine movement has already made an appearance from other watch makers and car manufactures ie. Bugatti, La Ferrari etc.
Yeah, serviced RM / AP / PP / VC / Rolex watches by their original manufacturer always go for higher and usually sell faster than their non-serviced / no service history counterparts especially on slightly older models. I remember one watch buyer telling me that he'll happily pay the premium for a serviced watch and have a peace of mind, then to buy a non-serviced watch from one of those brands and wait 3-6 or even 9 months (esp RM / PP / AP) for his watch to come back. He wasn't the first nor the last one to tell me that.
This is the best watch video I´ve enjoyed ever!! and I´ve been around the watch you tubers a looong time.... you name it; Producer Michael, Watch Eric, Teddy Baltassarre, Federico, Watchfinder the Time Piece Gentleman and so on.. you even got me to pour me a Bowmore and one own made Imperial stout, congratulations and keep it up, you are spot on!
Roman, appreciated if you can stop interrupting and cutting off Adrian so frequently. I think it’s unconscious, but it happens a lot and I often I want to hear what he says to say and get his insights. Just comes off a bit rude - thanks so much and love the channel!! 🙏
Richard mille has partnered with Ferrari formula 1 team. So, Richard mille name will be displayed on the Ferrari f1 car. So, Richard mille will be paying a lot of money to Ferrari because in return their name is being displayed on a F1 car . Richard mille will benefit a lot from their branding on f1
You all should show the attachments on the manual wind watches (the ones you have that come with them) used to wind the watches. I think Hublot has a drill and others have a wrench, it would be cool to see the watch you all have that use those to wind the watches.
What a great variety in this video to choose from! I'll go with the green-dial Patek, though I doubt I'll ever have the money to actually AFFORD one, LOL! Well, maybe I can at least win one of the hoodies you're giving away, which are both stylish, and also I could then point at the message on mine and say, "That's why I don't own a Patek!" Pateks ARE pretty darn awesome, though -- if I ever won one of those, I might not wear it often, to prevent getting mugged/killed for it, but I would then tell people who saw me wear it and then ask me any questions about it something more like: "Despite what my hoodie says, even if a watch doesn't go up in value, and f---ing Patek is an f---ing Patek! If it goes up or down in value, I don't give a rat's a$$, as it's a f---ing Patek!" LOL.....
I’m absolutely positive that your company will be a 500m dollar per year company before very long with your reputation as fair, honest , reputable traders. LB is the only Grey dealer I would trade with ⌚️👍
Richard Mille Sponsors all F1 teams Lotus in the past now Ferrari and McLaren, thats where those relationships were established. Also sponsor Alfa, tbh RM is all over the grid.
Question Year’s ago there was a Rolex with a wristband/bracelet with a center of milia-color links. If I remember correctly it was either a jubilee or president style bracelet with small rings of rose, yellow and white gold! What was the name of this wristband? Does it still exist?
The new F1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr is a big RM fan and with all of his photo shoots was wearing a RM even though Ferrari was in contract with Hublot, they got mad at Ferrari for letting him wear RM so ended the contract and now RM is on the F1 cars and now official watch for Ferrari
But in the end, when they make more of them, more people will be able to get one of those pieces. But obviously bad if you banked on them discontinueing..
