@@nprform yeah, I feel like the grill almost looks like the blacked out 2022 rs3, but then the elongated headlights kind of ruin it. I wonder what it would look like with a paint matched part covering that top of the headlight
@@lazaruslaser6560 They do sell paint matched pieces for the top of the headlight. They look pretty good. I chose to do vinyl because of cost and I just wanted black, so I didn’t see the need to spend the extra money on painted pieces.
I like the fitment and how the piece looks on the car vs simply changing the emblem style or color. As far as the color in the sun, it isn’t an exact match, but I would say, it’s as close as you’re going to get without having the piece painted on the car.
I plan on doing this for my car as well except using vvivid vinyl. Do you think knifeless tape is necessary? I know you didnt use it but I really dont want to scratch up the headlights. Also, do you have a tutorial on removing the amber bulbs? I cannot find the video on your page. Thank you
You could use knifeless tape, but since the line is so straight there’s no real reason to use it. Also, I made the cut in the gap between the headlight and hood, which avoids scratching the headlight. I don’t have a video removing the amber light bulb as it’s a pain to remove and the vinyl pretty well covers it up.
Yes, the vinyl will come off easily without leaving marks. You may have some sticky residue from left behind by the vinyl, but it’s easily removed with alcohol or goo gone.
No, the Elantra’s turn signal is below the high/low beam in the grill. The light being covered is the small side marker light at the top of the headlight assembly.
