Channel Update 12/2023 I will be posting videos of other vehicles I work on in my garage. These will be how to videos on popular modifications for each vehicle. I will link the vehicle’s owner’s social media links in each video’s description.
I was lucky to be able to purchase a brand new 2022 Hyundai Elantra N. A car I believe to be one of the best cars for under $35k. I created this channel to show how to install performance, audio, and other gear in the car. I’m happy to help with any questions about the installs or gear needed to complete the installations.
After purchasing my car, my wife decided to purchase a 2022 Veloster N in performance blue. So the channel has expanded to include similar videos as my Elantra N for the Veloster N.

Great video! Do you have any issues like losing Active Sound Design? I wanna upgrade my system(nothing too extensive, sub, amp, some of the speakers) and keep hearing I'll lose the active sound. I wanna make sure I don't lose any features.
@@nprform Ouch... I was excited, until I checked the price of that amp. At almost $1300 CAD, it's almost my entire budget. I assume I won't lose any features if I just add a Rockford P300-12 and call it a day? I could spend the rest on sound deadening. I think this would be closer to your earlier setup
@@PapaHetFan My setup is not cheap. If you only add the sub only that would be fine and sound good, but I would highly recommend adding the AudioControl LC2i pro and a Dayton 3” center channel. These two items are inexpensive and help improve the bass output and center sound.
@@nprform You answered a question I was too shy to ask lol, thanks you. I know very little about this stuff, wouldn't a 2 channel converter eliminate front/rear fade?
@@Robinvdzz My Elantra N has the blue silicone pipe because I don’t have an aftermarket blow off valve. My wife’s Veloster N has an atmospheric BOV, so her intake pipe is capped.
@@Robinvdzz Oh sorry, Forge used the same intake for the Hyundai cars, but not all have two hoses to plug into the intake, so they include a cap for the vehicles that only have one hose.
Any idea when the install video will be live? Im gonna need it soon, and i think it will be a big help. I really don't want to drop the engine to do it.
@@oswaldsghost7642 I’m hope to release it by July 22. I have a lot of footage to edit, since I not only did a swap but took additional steps, due to the turbo failure.
@@KendraBlackblade89 Daniel at N75 is quick to answer questions and really seemed to be the most knowledgeable person when it comes to helping with the tuning questions. He’s been there for me every step of the way while I’ve tuned my car, blown my turbo, and put everything back together. I got all my new turbo parts from him as well. I will have a full EN turbo swap video soon.
@nprform awesome! Thanks for the reply, and I look forward to the vid. What caused the turbo to blow? Was it too much boost pushing it too hard after the tune? I'm looking to do I think a stage one. I have an afe intake and would like more of the advertised power and torque to the ground but more importantly, a more usable powerband without that drop off after 5 or 6k rpm.
@@KendraBlackblade89 The 21’ and 22’ models have quality issues due to COVID. We pushed the turbo really hard right before tuning and then again during tuning. When the turbo began making sounds you let us know it was having issues, we didn’t check it. It was a learning experience. A costly one at that. Check out the video showing the turbo blowing.
@nprform I watched it and it has me concerned because I do pulls often. Getting that rush of dopamine after a stressful day at work. I am worried getting a tune would only quicken an inevitable demise of my turbo. And yes, it's a 22 VN. Any advise to further prepare for a tune? I've also heard I need a new HPFP if I plan on doing any sort of power adding and an intercooler to keep temps down over stock capabilities
@@KendraBlackblade89 Spark plugs & HPFP for sure, an intercooler is another good idea. Really though, after our experience, I’d almost suggest saving for an EN turbo upgrade. From our research, after the turbo blew, it seems the 22’s have a higher failure rate than other model years. Even without a tune, the VN turbo can fail. Our car has 10k miles and blew.
@@MrTediousness When you hook up the EK1 to your car and read the ECU, It looks like your calibration ID should display either BOSCH MEDG17.9.8 or CPEGD2.20.3. I found both of these files in the Sxth tuning software.
@nprform I still can't find it under patch files on SXTHNKTUNING, I did, however, contact them, and they said that the 1st Gen Veloster turbos do not require an ECU patch file to log and tune, so I guess I'm alright
@@DirtyVelosterN- Correct, the plastic clips around the back of the emblem will hold it in place. If you break one of those clips, you’ll need to use superglue or 3M double sided tape to hold the emblem in place. We didn’t break any of the clips, so we just applied pressure and the emblem snapped right back into place. We’ve had no issues since.
Unrelated question...... Are those actual carbon fiber interior trim pieces or just the plastic covers they sell on Amazon. I've been meaning to buy them from Amazon but idk how they're going to look.
@@iadoremelissa12345 They are covers. I made a video showing all of them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ehgq-WC_6LM.htmlsi=sDVyy3UQSCw9I4kw
Nice, complete video and nice set of links to tools/supplies. I clicked on your link to the WIX filter, do you know why Amazon thinks this doesn't fit the Veloster N?
@@nprform Thanks for the reply. I also went to the WIX website and their "search by car" didn't show any filters that fit the Veloster N (or any Hyundai for that matter). How did you determine fit in your research? I assume you've had no issues?
@@nickbarbaro4139 The filter is sold in an oil change kit on N75 Motorsports’ website. I’ve had no issues and I’ve just installed it again, after I swapped the VN turbo for an EN turbo.
Oh dang man! Hate to see it, I just ordered the Elantra N turbo myself. Nothing wrong with the current VN turbo, but Cherry and I would be much happier with an upgraded turbo. 😎🤙
I saw your video so late and installed focuway and routed it all tucked in whole process of hiding cables. Thank you for this video really appreciate it 💯💯💯
@@nprform unfortunately the adzome doesnt fit the Z Edge. Adzome is bigger so i ordered suction cuz with plenty of swappable mounts for the Z Edge. But ideally your video is awesome the install was so clean and easy.
What happens when you push a car to its limit with a tune. How many miles on it? I read about the Veloster N turbos failing and not built well. Not sure how true that is. Sure car would of been fine with no tune. Water/Meth is a must on these cars to keep EGTs down and keep valves clean.
@@4drturbo85 The car has 10k miles. It’s crazy how fast the turbo blew. We were discussing water meth as our next step right after the tune and the turbo blew 15 minutes later.
@@nprform I'd highly recommend Aquamist. I recently completed my install and have had your videos in mind when writing up my outline. I plan to shoot my coverage/install video shortly.
@@DiRtyqueso8 We purchased the Elantra N OEM turbo. I don’t know much about the Sxth turbo. I discussed the decision with Daniel and this was his recommendation.
Thank you for documenting and posting your experience. I am sorry you had to go through it, but I am happy and your wife are safe. I am very excited to see your EN turbo install. Hope everything goes as smoothly as possible 🙏.
2020's according to the data are the best VN's. Many are above 100,000 miles and going strong with no major issues. HPFP and the starter are the main things that fail. Thanks for the content and sharing your experiences with the N series.
@@iam.marcus9254 36,000. I've been told my engine would blow at 30,000 didn't happen. I was told my turbo would blow at 20,000. Hasn't happened. Just been told a lot of things about this car just because it was a hyundai. But I bought it pre covid so I think the quality is there. Before things got bad.
I too have a 2020 VN PP with 52k miles and only had to change the hpfp at 51k other then that it's been solid and the lord knows I beat on that poor car every single day 😅
I have to say thank you for this tutorial. I’ve always wanted a dash cam, but have always been nervous to install one and mess with anything electrical. You made me feel confident enough to finally do it, and showed me it’s not as tedious as I thought. Just installed mine today
There are numbers at the top and bottom of each row of fuses. You count up or down from the number on the fuse box. For example: the second row begins with “8”, so you just count down two fuses to find #10.
With the wires put from the a-pillar to the back, did you direct the wire underneath the side impact airbag or above it because if it's below it, if there's an airbag deployment that could lead to some issues on top of an already obvious collision that caused the bag to go.
Very nice video, informative, precise. Cool stuff :). Keep it up! I have to use German amazon and they don't have that adapter kit. So which fusetaps are the correct ones? Mini, MIcro or MIcro2?
@@nprform I wonder what mods can be made to the base?? As I know people like modding the nline (I thought people would only like modding the N). I guess we will find out in future videos...
Great video as all your others. Getting Ek1 set up ahead of time as DP and HPFP will be installed this week as well. Thank you, and keep up the great work!
@@nprform yes please do! I am gonna try that SXTH DP install you did as well. Gotta get that WD40 liquid wrench and soak the bolts like you did. They came off like a dream 😎👌
I actually installed my wires vice versa, the colored wires to the map and brown and black to the charge pipe and it was acting not good and I see why, you don’t think it will hurt anything do you? I only drove it 10 mins or so
@@nprform good to hear, the display gauges on the Jb4 app aren’t working, the map gauge shows the map I’m on but the others aren’t working, any idea what the issue could be? I’ve checked connections and everything seems tight
@@3lyK Is it certain ones not working or are all the gauges not working? Have you tried changing some of the default gauges? I found some of the gauges don’t work for all cars.
Do you really need to remove the factory Bose subwoofer? Let's say i want to install my own amp for my subwoofer and i have a LOC, Is it mendatory to remove the sub? I Mean, if i can leave it on and use both, why not !?
No, you do not need to remove the factory sub. I chose to do it because I was afraid I might blow it since I would be running more power through the rest of the system. Also, I liked having the hole to allow for more sound to enter the car.
@@nprform Thanks for your quick answer! Another question for you, if my LOC have 4 wires (2 for left speaker and 2 for right speaker), can i plug them both on the brown and white? Or do i really need to make an Y like you shown in your part 2 video? Thanks for your time, i really apreciate! Just bought the new 2024 Elantra N Ultimate. I'm in Canada!
@@lescommunicateurs524 You can plug the LOC’s 2 positive wires and 2 negative wires into the two factory brown and white wires without making a Y-adapter.
