@@ISITWORTHITUK Some dealers may tell you 3 months to get the sale, but when it does not arrive, they just say its delayed....... My local Kia dealer was being realistic with the dates, Sometime in Q4 this year, so could be as early as October. I would rather a dealer be up front with me than be duped because they say its going to be 3 months. I have ordered a Sportage in GT Line S spec, the 1.6T GDI 226BHP 6-Speed Auto Hybrid 2WD variant in Dark Penta Metal, with black roof. The extra lead time might be because of the colour variant possibly. I'm in no rush really to get it (Got a good discount), I have a perfectly running Toyota Auris Hybrid, But just wanted something with a higher seating position. Hopefully the silicon chip shortage is starting to abate now, so may get the car earlier than I was expecting :-)
I also ordered a GT Line S 226BHP auto hybrid 2WD. A June delivery was offered but this has now been delayed to November! Very frustrating! Apparently Kia are having issues getting components for the hybrid engine or so I'm told. To be fair its not just Kia as before this I had a VW Tiguan on order for 8 months with no delivery in sight. I'm sure the Sportage will be worth the wait!
@@nnpnexus yes, agreed, some may say 3 months but actually its not. My PHEV GT-Line S was due in early June but now dealer sayings around Aug/Sep time.
Ordered a GT line S in Blue Flame at start of March and was originally told would be delivered by May, which came and went. Have just had an update to say it is now due Mid- August but we will have to see, as date isn't guaranteed. I note that a lot of leasing websites are now showing Jan/Feb 2023 as anticipated delivery date on the hybrid models! I was advised that Kia source their wiring looms for the hybrids from a company in the Ukraine hence why so many delays.
Eight months waiting and I finally pick my GT Line S up this Friday. Exactly the same as in this video! Lunar Silver with black roof, superb car to drive!! Love it! Great video thanks for uploading 👍
loved the you tube video , I drove that car and was really good. I have ordered one , not form them but from other and got a better deal . hoping to get my gts in the next few weeks
Finally a full size man is testing the new Kia Sportage! As a 188cm (about 6,3 ft) man leg support is severly lacking in many cars. I seen loads of tests of this car but its either a woman or a half man barely reaching 1,5 meters above ground level. Ofc the car will be comfy for you tiny human! But what about us fullsize men? So thank you for this review. If anyone here is around 185 cm or more, 6,2 ft, and have this car plz let me know about the seating and especially the leg support like thigh support.
Thanks for commenting and glad you enjoyed the review. I’m just about 6ft2 and had no issues with leg room or height when sat as the driver or rear passenger.
Went for a test drive last week was that impressed I ordered a GT Line S HEV in Lunar Silver. All I can say to the badge snobs out there is don’t knock it until you have tried it.
Thanks for watching Les and glad to hear you ordered one, great spec and colour 👍 badge snobbery will always be about but the only manufacture that’s coming close to beating it is KIA, I can definitely see this changing in the coming years.
Ordered GT Line S same colour should come November I think it’s worth the 40k and ordered the AWD only disappointing thing is you can’t get the 19 inch alloys on AWD and the only other thing I think they have missed is a heads up display which they should really have on the top spec if they really want to compete with top end rivals
Thanks for watching and commenting. That’s annoying you’d think 40k for the Sportage you would at least get the HUD. Saying that a new fiesta is mostly 17k
I know its very confusing as there are so many different power trains to choose from but you have some of the specs wrong, for starters the wheels on the HEV are 18 inch on the GT Line S but go to 19 inch on the PHEV and ITC engine GT Line S. Second it is not a 6 speed duel clutch auto, on the model reviewed it is a 6 speed fluid auto and the duel clutch used is on the ITC engine and is 7 speed. Third the top speed on that model is not 113 it is 120 mph. I only know all this because I ordered that exact same car and did my home work beforehand, thanks for the review it was great and at least you seem to like the car.
Many thanks for your comments, We are pleased you liked the review and It’s great to hear you have ordered one for yourself. We will verify this and update it. We Appreciate you highlighting this as it allows us to ensure the information we provide is correct for future videos.
After verification with the dealership the Specs shown for this model-we reviewed ,we are happy to conclude all specs are correct. If you need to contact the dealership for further assistance please feel free to do so. Thanks again for your comments👍
@@ISITWORTHITUK Kia Sportage registration MK71 GZU is a HEV if that is the model you are reviewing my comments above are correct and the dealer is not, please see the KIA specifications for this vehicle on the KIA website, it is very clear.
I’m new to your channel and the Sportage is of interest to me. I don’t think the 6 speed automatic gearbox is Dual Clutch but is a torque converter type. Other models in the lineup do however come with DSG but not the HEV model. Greetings from Cumbria in the U.K. stay safe and well.
Looking forward to getting my GT line S in green . Ordered last October 22. Finally it’s been made and is ‘in shopping’ so hopefully will get it by end of September 🤩
I test-drove the Sportage GT Line S against a Honda CRV and opted for the Kia. (I was not a fan of the Honda Variomatic drivetrain). I ordered the Sportage 3 as the higher spec cars had features on them that I just didn't need. I'm 6'3" so not a fan of sun roofs, don't want a powered boot etc. Loved the way the Sportage drove and loved the barely noticeable switch between the petrol and electric engines. Absolute top car, especially with the 7 year warranty, and really hoping mine will be in the country by Christmas.
Great to hear and thanks for watching. We are yet to test the Honda, we would love to have it on the channel. But KIA just seem to tick the important boxes with ease. Yes the switch from petrol to electric is magnificent, very smooth and really does show some more premium cars up in that regards. The only hybrid that’s beats or comes close to the KIA would be the Lexus NX 450h.
i love the car. considering buying one. i will get the hybrid gt line luxury top of the range model. in cyprus its cost is €40,000 that includes the white/black two tone paintwork
Thanks for the vid. I ordered mine last month (Feb) and I was told it'd be here in June. Wishful thinking maybe? Drove by a Kia transport truck laden with new Kia cars earlier. I thought, "Maybe... just maybe." No such luck. Now that is wishful thinking. 😁 Can't wait.
Unfortunately there are no hybrid engine versions in my country. Only 2.0L & 2.5L naturally aspirated petrol engines. Other than that, the car looks great for me. Waiting for official sales start in my country to try in on a test drive
Ac blower motor failed in new 2023 car. Seems like control module malfunction or bad relay in new sportage. Something to note. The most common causes for AC fan blower motor not working are blown fuse, bad relay, resistor or control module malfunction and faulty blower motor. However, a bad electrical connector or broken wire, or a defect in the climate control unit can also cause the blower motor to stop working
Thanks for your comments, we have heard of this and it’s happened also in the EV6. We were suspecting it was maybe to do with the touch panel technology but hopefully this will get sorted.
Thanks for your comment and thats a great question. The reason is to show the best options the cars has to offer plus also we usually get given the car they offer us. In some circumstances we end up having the base model. If viewers want to see more base models in future this is definitely what we will aim to do. 👍
Yes we did and we were surprised at first as this is usually found in BMWs. As for the actually sound quality it lives up to the brands name and we were really impressed. 🔊👍
Many thanks for your comment and what a great question. If your budget can stretch I would opt for the AWD as you get better traction and when needed it can send the torque to the rear, so for all round drivability I would look into the AWD. On the other hand if your are using it primarily just for the school run or city driving I would potentially save the extra and opt for the FWD version which is still great to drive. Final note, If your opting for an SUV it would be best to go AWD if possible. I hope this helps 👍
Hi Rob, thanks for pointing this out yes your are correct this is the self charging hybrid which we were reviewing. Are you looking to opt for the self charging yourself or plug-in?
