You Sir have one of the best, cleanest, most tasteful set up's out there, balanced yet bad ass. 4Runner of the year in my book. Thank you for sharing, Sir, I salute you.
That color was the 2020 TRD Pro color. You can now get it in a couple lower trim levels but you can no longer get it in the TRD Pro which this one is trying to look like since he changed the front grill, exhaust, and rear valance.
Beautiful rig! One thing…. Re-plumb your air tank with a tee in/out and a drain valve on the bottom. Your tank WILL fill with water over time reducing the actual air capacity and cause a ton of other problems. Absolutely love this build! Well done.
I watched a car review a few years ago by this guy named Doug DeMuro and he said in his review "The Toyota 4Runner is total garbage! This thing is so ancient it doesn't even have Apple Car Play, this monstrosity won't sell." Here it is almost 2023 and I see that they are still selling quite nicely, I think I will go put a deposit on a TrdPro! Thanks, Doug, you sold me on this rig!
Absolutely LOVE it! My wife and I want to get her a new one since she just graduated college and she wants this model and color ha ha If only she wanted allll the rest! A++ build!! Beautiful
Love almost everything on this truck. I have several of the same after market add-ons and would love to get more of what he’s got. I will say I’d love to see this truck actually using some of those cool mods off-road. 🤞
Nice T4R. I am glad to see you upgraded the gearing with the 315 tires. I just replaced my 275 with 285 on my 2015 ORP and the gearing feels about maxed out.
Sweet setup. Just subscribed, hope you can get around to uploading more videos for inspiration. I just bought a trd offroad and I'm ready to start spending some paychecks on her.
Very nice rig. Hope to see some future videos of this thing on a trip. On and off road would be appreciated. Gorgeous build though, congrats 🎉. Side note, should you consider a cap for your air compressor hook up? It’s facing forward, so could it get all gummed up when you need it from the mud/snow?
Hey, amazing car, thanks for showing. I know you sold it already but… what is the feeling driving this car in highway? Can you help describe how is it different from driving a complete stock 4Runner TRD OFF ROAd? I just got one and I’d like to build it the way you did but I am afraid it would ruin the way it handles in paved road. Specially me, I am on the aggressive style driving in paved roads. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Absolutely stunning build. If it came in a standard I would have bought one. Ended up with a 22 pro tacoma. Really wanna supercharge it as well and was curious if you thought it was worth the money?
@@overisland22 yeah I did get the 6 speed manual which already comes with a bit better gear ratio and I won't be tossing any huge tires on. So I'm hoping i wouldn't need gears and it would increase the value of the truck. Not expecting a rocket ship just want some real truck power lol.
@@dillonlamb8588 check into an OV Tune. I had a 2018 stick shift Tacoma with 285’s and a bunch of extras. The OVTune increases the redline by 500 rpm’s and boosts power a bit.
My goodness!! If I went to a shop and ask for the same build I’m sure they’ll tell me that’s the executive build 😢 and I couldn’t afford it lol Love the build! Can I ask how much the suspension cost? I’m getting an estimate of Bilstein 5100 front, 5160 rear, SPC uca, front and rear medium load springs, with labor is $2650 plus tax installed. Falkens AT requested is $1250 plus tax for all 4 mounted and balanced. Total : $3900
Thanks a lot man! The base toytec 5100 lift was 1k, icon uca about 800, bump stops front and rear about 500. I did the install myself so no labor. 3900 for all that sounds pretty good.
Nice rig. Only correction is the Gobi Roof Rack is a stealth rack and not a ranger rack. The ranger rack is much taller. Just pointing it out incase anyone wanted to spec their 4Runner out like yours. And they wait 14+ weeks for the wrong Gobi rack
Thank you for walking through the build….I like how the finished product isn’t overbearing….did you use an off-road specialty shop to do the work? A good general mechanic shop? Curious…
Wowww, thats freaking impressive!. I'll be honest, I don't know 90% of the things he mentioned, but dayum it looks nice. How much did it cost with all the mods?
All around it is great. I tried OME rear springs and they were very stiff comparatively. Also tried Icon rear springs and they lifted it way higher than advertised, although did ride well. The toytec superflex rear springs are pretty fantastic
It is mounted to the inside of the fender on an SDHQ mount near the brake master cylinder. I had planned to run a power tray and mount it there but the intercooler reservoir took up that spot.
I was concerned with highway RPM's and with the Supercharger I knew I had the torque to make up for not going to 4.88's. Real happy with going 4.56. Honestly the gear swap made more of a difference than the supercharger did.
How would you think the 4.56 gears would be if you also had a lot more weight? I am soon to install the Magnuson SC and 35" tires. I have full size steel front and rear bumpers, full steel skids, and the 24 gal aux fuel tank. Currently trying to decide on 4.56 vs 4.88. Any times you threw a lot of weight in gear on the inside for comparison?
Thanks! I bought it directly through SSO. I originally special ordered one and was waiting about 12 weeks when they dropped their hybrid bumper, which is only configured one way and is available for shipping immediately. So I changed my order so that I could immediately receive my bumper.
I think it was 7200$, I bought it from SDHQ, they have them in stock for 2020+ 4Runners. I installed myself so no install fee. I would not do it again to a V-6. The juice wasn't worth the squeeze. The regear to 4.56 made more of a difference than the supercharger. If I did it again I wouldn't do supercharger and would go to 4.88.
You got to be rubbing with 285’s on full flex. Need a BMC and pinch weld hammered in to clear them off road. You think the super charger is worth the 10g ?
Thank you. I have them set at the bottom setting since I have the toytec coils on there. With the additional weight of the winch and front bumper I wouldn’t hesitate going to the second setting and I have more upwards travel I can go with the CV angle too, just haven’t needed more height.
No plan currently, I always have a tire plug kit with me along with the hard mounted compressor. I say that although I blew out the sidewall on my Jeep JL 37" tire in Moab last February and needed to swap on the trail. Hah! Hope that doesn't happen.
No KDSS, I got the black hood bulge on eBay as a whole kit for about $120, was easier than going to Toyota and ordering the ~12 different parts needed for the swap.
Nice mods. Not sure why you didn't go with the Bilstein 6112/5160 set up with the additional weight. Also, with the bigger/heavier tires, did you upgrade the brakes, axles and steering to deal with the extra weight and inertia?
Thanks, I guess. So when I first lifted the truck I wanted either Kings or Fox 2.5’s. They weren’t available so I went with the Toytec 5100 kit with the intent to swap out down the road but honestly it just rides great as is so no real need to swap. I might gusset the knuckles but that’s all that’s really “needed” at this point.
@@overisland22 I really do like what you've done. I'm looking at doing a lot of the same things and trying to gather info. A long time ago I met a guy named Steve Dinan and he did some work on a BMW 2002 I had. Before he'd increase the horsepower, he insisted on increasing braking capability. With that supercharger you have, I immediately thought of Steve. So, I was curious. I've heard that the stock calipers are quite capable when paired with different rotors and pads. A service rep at the shop I take my truck to for some work was telling me that after installing a steel bumper on his 4Runner, he noticed that the Bilstein 5100s were maxed out as far as what they could do with that weight up front. He also told me that one guy he went out on the trail with ended up breaking an axle due to the increased size and weight of his wheel/tire combo. A stouter axle might be overkill and I guess it really comes down to how hard you drive when overlanding. Thanks for taking the time. Here's some info about the knuckle you were mentioning: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z4AwxMn_oaQ.html
Super charger installed $ 10K, Bumper & Winch $ 4.5K, Rims Tires $4.5K, Lift $4K, 4.56 Gearing $3.5K, Roof rack system, Rock Sliders & Body Skid System $3.5K, Led Lights $1.5K ARB Compressor Setup $1.5K, STUPIDEST THING OF BUILD - Stock spare tire = Dumb way to smoke a differential!!! Nice build if you have an $30K laying around…. Not for typical owners… 4Runner $45K + $30K = $75K of course it’s NICE! Where is the East Coast Gear Clam Shell Differential Bearing Upgrade - Every lift 3 inches and above required this!
