2022 BMW X3M Comp vs Jeep Trackhawk vs Mercedes GLC AMG 63S Coupe, close but not close. Drag Race and Roll Race. Join this channel to get access to perks: / @samcarlegion
exactly dude. BMW is top notch in every respect. The new M3 competition does 0 to 60 and fucking 2.5 seconds bro. That was Bugatti Veyron territory not too long ago and the fastest production car 0 to 60 is 1.9 seconds right now and it's that Ferrari that came out in like 2020.
The X3M has a longer launch control setup. You have to wait for it to build boost, that's why it came in 3rd off the line. If you were to run it properly, it shoots off faster than the other two.
The the roll race was expected because a X3m comp does dyno close to 500whp. Stock TH dyno at about 575whp. So not a huge difference when you factor in the nearly 900lb weight advantage and better gearing of the BMW and Merc.
Has nothing to do with cylinders or displacement, the Bmw has bigger turbos than the Mercedes and that matters more than displacement. Cylinder count has absolutely no bearing. Even the turbo size doesn’t really matter on the stock tune.
Roll 1 for the trackhawk makes sense. Roll 2 you can clearly see he missed that shift causing it too lose, he 100% tried manually shifting instead of just dropping gears and letting it auto-shift back up.
@@yanzi1957 At 5:35 he said "in the right gear" when the race said "auto-shift". So the Trackhawk had to kick down from 8th gear when he was already ready in 2nd or 3rd.
This was the hardest decision I had to make this summer. I kept comparing the GLC63, X3M, and Trackhawk. I test drove each and all 3 are great. If I were rich, I’d buy all 3. In the end, I purchased the GLC63 and couldn’t be happier! TH has outdated/cheap interior and lacked tech. Just couldn’t enjoy the cabin much… X3M, even though faster and nice interior, engine sounds horrible compared to TH and GLC.
@@yoseph2420 Do you mean 2021? There wasn’t a 2022 GLC63 (pandemic supply shortage issues with the V8s and chips) Either way, good luck on the repair. Hopefully it’s not too bad.
@@LuSt4boost The registration papers say it's a 2022. And I'm also from Israel, assuming you're from America the supply shortage varries from one continent to another?? Not sure where you got that from, but all I know it's a 2022. Also the repair isn't going to be all that bad, just a whole new full bumper with all the sensors, bumper bridge, 2 new radiators with a couple new pipes, left fender, windshield, drive steering wheel airbag, a new hood, wheel and a wheel liner some paint to the left driver door. It's not that bad to me because the passenger airbags wasn't deployed, all thanks to god, I would've had to purchase a whole new dashboard and more expensive interior complicated stuff which I'm far from a professional to deal with.
@@yoseph2420 Thats probably it. They probably cut the US out since the supply was low. When it comes to german performance cars, we always get the short end of the stick This was a US report… “The V-8-powered GLC63 model has been dropped from the lineup for 2022. Otherwise, the GLC43 carries on without any significant changes. This will also be the final model year for this generation of the Mercedes-AMG GLC43 as its Benz-branded brother is being relaunched as a new model for 2023”
Bro!!! I own a 2021 hawk!!! That fuckin clown making the hawk look bad. I smoked an x3M multiple times on the roll!!!! I put it in track mode, auto, blip throttle to drop gear to best, and go. The hawk is not slower than the x3M on a roll!!!!!! No fuckin way!!!!! I also own a 2019 mustang 5.0 pp1 and have raced my own hawk with it. My hawk barley beats the 5.0 on a roll. So u telling me, based off this, an x3M is taster than a 2019 5.0 pp1 on a roll? Lol!!!
Great video as usual! It's funny how Trackhawks dominates from a dig and Hellcat cars suck for launching on unprep surface, but rolls reverse at roll races. Can you image Hellcat cars with AWD?!
The x3 m is my baby I love it definitely worth every dollar but all cars seem like they are very similar in performance if I was crazy rich I would get all 3 but the trackhawk sounds the best and is the cheapest I believe but I still love that X3m
@@qwertyqwerty-zi6dr its not. It would completely walk away from both if it was remapped on a dig and roll. I know because I have a remapped normal GLC63, and easily destroy a stock X3M and Trackhawk. A remapped GLC63S and it won’t even be a race. It will be a slaughter.
I mean giving the power difference the other 2 cars were pretty close especially the Mercedes theyre all.crossing the line witha foot or two of each other. The track hawk competes with the X5M and GLE63 so these cheaper SUVs keeping up is impressive
It would be nice to see cars aligned perfectly on a roll race. Mercedes was almost a car length ahead on the runs which makes it seem like it gaps the other cars a lot. Carwow does automatic and manual roll races to see the difference. I am not sure why it's so hard to shift manually on these cars. Anyways, great race nevertheless. BMW punching above its weight for sure. Expected trackhawk to walk both of them.
speaking from experience on the Jeep/Dodge vehicles manual shifting is almost an art and I don't know anyone who can actually do it before it hits the rev limiter (laggy dash cluster?). It took me months to figure out how to get a proper downshift while moving and it requires putting it back into auto immediately after forcing it down.
@@josesecaida3668 lmao!!! Go look up the specs. X6M 0-60 3.7 sec. Trackhawk 0-60 3.5 and the fastest I’ve gotten in my 2021 Trackhawk is 3.3 sec. Also, the hawk has been doing this since 2018. It’s about time bmw releases something that can compete with it. But from a dig, it’s not winning.
@@Matt.e_Black they did not roll race the hawk correctly. I smoked a x3M a shitload of time on the roll. I keep it in track mode, auto, blip throttle so it drops gear to best, and go. Trust me, they did not roll race the hawk correctly. X3M is amazing. All these SUVs are.
I'm not one who comes to the defiance of jeeps normally. But to me it looked as if. the rolls the jeep was very close to the top of second gear and ran out of rpm quickly. Should have tried a higher speed.
I have a BMW X4M competition 2022 and i’ve raced a GLC 63s coupe and my X4 has never lost, I think the bmw x4 is more aerodynamic than the X3 and with the 2022 mild hybrid, the new X4 M would beat the glc 63s any day but tbh I like both cars and i’m not a hater of merc
If u are in San Diego area we can race I have 2019 glc63s and I had a only trouble with 2020 and up m5’s and m8.x4 x5 m competitions are same 0-60 pretty much so they’ve never gave me a problem.x4 x5 m comp and glc won’t smoke eachother bad unless one of them tuned.let’s be realistic don’t be a fan.
I wanted to get the glc but in canada I couldn’t buy a new one so I had to go with the bmw but i’m happy nonetheless, trying to get an x6m next so if u come up here i’ll race you np.
Why disappointed ☹️…it’s not a fair comparison. You got to give it to the x3 for keeping up with these big turbo v8s. If it was the x5 m the outcome would be different.
thé coupe form is extremely ugly, mercedes’ has the balls to make ugly versions of SUVs but won’t bring station wagons to america, Give me the C63S wagon.
Nice Race Sam. But I know the X3M Can do better than that. I've see it beat GLC 63S. But as always, Amazing Content. Keep surprising us with amazing races.
My poor LS1 Z28 (LS6 Cam + bolt ons) gets drug by my Durango Hellcat. These SUVs are just crazy when you think about it. Take one back to the pre 2000s and you would mop up hustling people on the street.
@@S8ER no kidding 😂. Back when a 400hp car was badass and a 450hp foxbody was darn near king of the street. If you saw a turbo supra and heard of anything making 600ho, you just didn't mess with it. Now SUV's from the factory are spanking probably everything we ran back then
What mode was the trackhawk in for the rolls? I am not surprised the Jeep came up short here with its gearing and trans tuning being so lazy on rolls. Manually forcing it to the lowest gear and slamming back to auto seem to be the only thing that even remotely helps.
@@mornestemmet99 the starting speed is key. Carwow seems to start from a higher speeds which helps and when the downshift is good the Jeep should shoot ahead of turbo cars every time (unless they have anti lag systems). At lower speeds you have to force it down or you’re just going to end up a gear higher and out of peak power band.
It's crazy that the BMW managed to beat the trackhawk in a rolling race with way less horse power That's really impressive. I like craftsmanship over just stupidly throwing horsepower at a vehicle that can't handle a corner.
So proud of the X3M, keeping up with TWO FEWER cylinders to work with! And I concur, the BMW keeps it in just the right gear. Even if you shift at the exact same point, for some reason, it feels a lot quicker when you let it shift. My X5 was the same way. German engineering is no joke!
@@SamCarLegion I didn't hear it activate either Sam. Unless the other cameras just didn't pick it up but it's a pretty unique sound that's hard to miss normally.
@@aimxdy8680 trackhawk is garbage outside of the engine. Take that away and you’re left with an interior from a Laredo trim. X6M is all around better and faster (straight line and track).
@@zachm1920 The X6 has no utility, extremely ugly, no passenger space, no trunk space. The E63S AMG Station wagon is faster while offering more utility AND luxury.
