We had to tweak the choke to fit a Honda Helix carb, the original carb for the 150 is just too expensive for us. Now we have to get buckets, piston, and hopefully just that left. But, now, she fires right up with a different carb. Last owners since 07 didn't take great care of her, at least the last couple.
The 150 is super fun but if your over like 130 lbs and 5’5 you should probably get a 250, because the 150s are basically the same size as the 2 stroke 85s.
I love these 150s I got one myself and I got a yz250f but I always seem to ride the 150 more in the woods just so much power and in a smaller chassis makes it so much fun to rip around just a bitch to get running tho😂
That bike should cold start for the first time each day in 2-3 kicks Max. Pull the choke, 2-3 pumps of the throttle (because the carb has an accelerator pump to squirt fuel), and kick. My 2013 usually starts with one kick. I converted mine to a supermini to track ride, and learned valves need to be adjusted every 7 hours. The rear brake side intake valve gets tight Significantly faster than all the other valves. I also have track riding videos on my page if that interests you...
Sweet I haven’t done anything to the valves how should I get to them, I also just got a brand new oil filter that I’m gonna put in but I want to tune it up bc it’s running good but I want it to last. I changed out the air box too so that might help it to start there was a stink bug in it 💀
@@tybetler69 I recommend getting a service manual to reference, or create your own reference doc with maintenance info you have needed as you do new things. I have both for easy reference during maintenance. For valve lash checks I pulled the side plastics, seat, and fuel tank off on mine for more room and visibility. Remove the coil, sparkplug, then valve cover to access the camshaft. Set the engine to top dead center (TDC) and use a set of feeler gauges to check clearances. It's all easier than it sounds, but the first time can be a little intimidating. Do some reading/research, and set aside time to work slow. I have seen a couple decent videos on YT that might help you more.
@@tybetler69 no you don't Need a special tool. I use a couple different length socket extensions (trial and error to find what fits from my tool options) and a magnet to pull the sparkplug out carefully so as not to drop it back in potentially messing up the plug gap
love the videos but there’s def some wrong w your bike or you’re not kicking hard enough because i have a 21 150 and it starts 1-5 kicks cold everytime
@@tybetler69 also a little tip try not to give it gas when you’re kicking it just use your hot start giving 4 strokes throttle while starting them gets your valves shot or in other words makes your bike bog when you rev it
It’s got a lot of power the klx 140 is the same but less torky and you need to leaven the clutch so it’s not a great first bike definitely a better second or 3rd bike tho
It’s super fun, hard to cold start and if it doesn’t start after your riding it then use the hot start next to the clutch. Warm it up before you rip it because it can blow up.
Just bought mine. Haven’t had any issues with it but i do only have 8hrs on it. As long as you keep up with maintenance they are pretty reliable. And its not just 150s you should really rebuild any race bike after 100-150 hrs
@@BlakePotts-g4v keep your airbox clean and change your oil every month and you shouldn’t have any problems, I will say you gotta kick em a million times but if you twist the throttle and prime it before it works better.
The first wheelie u did I saw your foot wasn’t on the back brakes pls keep your foot on the back brake and find a big grass field pop it up drop it back to balance point had get control of the back brake
Hey man I can’t tell if need an upgrade or not I have a 125f 22 and I’ve been riding for a year and I’m not that tall I’m like 4”9 so do you think I could fit?
All motors have a power band. I have a 150rb and you can feel when it is making the more power. It rides a lot like a 2 stroke just with a little bit better bottom end torque.
It’s a really fun bike but hard to cold start. But yeah it made me better at wheelies Bc of how much power it’s packing. But if your over like 5’6 then just get a 250.
@@tybetler69 Really? In my country the bike costs more and it isn't new. So, 2013 release costs 4,900 dollars. Actually, we don't have brand new honda crf 150 and if we want to get a new honda, we need to pay for it maybe 9,000 dollars...
