2022 Ford F-150 Tremor Review, Test Drive & Walkaround
✅Rough-road comfort test
✅Off-road comfort test
✅Highway cruising test
✅Headlight demonstration
✅Suspension up close
✅Detailed interior examination
In this review, walkaround and road-test of the 2022 Ford F-150 Tremor, I test and demonstrate everything-- so you can see what to expect from this off-road athlete pickup in real life. There's one consistent complaint-- but it's not the headlights (which you'll see plenty of in action after dark).
It's 11 minutes of real-life impressions and demonstrations from the backroads of Northern Ontario.
Made with love in Sudbury.

Found a 2023 on a dealers website yesterday and I fell in love with the color combo and then today this video was on my feed.

Just took delivery (Nov 8, 22) full load 402A pkg, but no Torsen front axle and mandatory park assist and stop/start delete. Antimatter blue is as close as blue can be to black. Just stunning, and I’m loving it so far

Easily the BEST review I've seen so far for any vehicle. Great job! I have a Tremor being delivered next month, I've watched everything I can find on RU-vid about what I should expect and like I said earlier......this was the most informative without being a lengthy video that is full of stuff no one cares about. One thing to note. I've spoken with a few shock manufacturers about upgrading the suspension to level the truck, maintain off-road capability, and gain extra towability with this truck. I spoke directly with Fox, Rough Country, and Falcon (these are the ONLY companies who make shocks tuned for the Tremor). The info I got was basically all the same. Fox makes the OEM shocks for both the Tremor and Raptor. These shocks are tuned for fast driving over bumps and jumps and don't provide the best ride on conditions Justin points out in this video where the Tremor fell short during his review. Rough Country makes a 2.5" leveling kit that is a decent compromise that helps out with some of the complaints from the video and will level out that crazy rake the Tremor has stock. Then there are the Falcon Sport Tow/Haul shocks that will give you a much better ride during the things mentioned in the video but won't respond as well as the Fox ones if you are going to be racing your Tremor (or driving fast off-road) and will allow you to stiffen up the rear shocks when you tow so you don't get that nasty sag in the back. One thing you DO NOT want to do with your new Tremor is slap on a cheap leveling kit that uses spacers. I spoke with a Ford engineer who said the people going with the cheap spacer solution will find out really quick that they just screwed up their off-road capability and it makes no sense to pay for the Tremor package and give up it's off-road capability. Also, the 3 companies I spoke with that make spacer solutions and shock solutions all agreed with the Ford engineer. Once again though.... this was an OUTSTANDING video!!!

I took delivery a couple months ago of a '23 Tremor in Azure Gray with the 402A package and 5.0L V8. The truck has almost every available option and so far I'm loving it. Early mods have been a Roush CAI, BAK4 tonneau cover, Ford drop-in bedliner and switching the tires to a set of 33x12.50R17 General Grabber X3s on stock Raptor wheels. The wheel and tire package fits perfectly inside the body with no rubbing and no need for a lift, fender flares or speedometer recalibration. Future mods will hopefully include a Roush supercharger and suspension upgrades so I really appreciate the info on shock packages.

My 2022 Tremor (Antimatter Blue) was delivered to me here in Hawai'i on December 30th. Well worth the wait. The only options I didn't go with was the panoramic sunroof, and the Unleashed stereo. Here in Hawai'i all you see is Nissan and Toyota trucks for the most part and people just don't know what do to when they see a stock truck bigger than the massive amounts of mods they put into their Japanese trucks. Glad to see the 2023 has the option of the Coyote for those that want a bit less power for a bit more growl.

I ordered a 23 with the Coyote (I'm old and love the V-8 sound) a couple weeks ago. Hoping it doesn't let me down (switching back to Ford from a Tundra which has served me well (no offense to Tundra, just couldn't get the truck I wanted from them). If I get torque-envy, I can always supercharge it. The good news is I might get it as early as March and may not have to deal with the Stop/Start as chips are still an issue. Peace, Love!!

@@JustinPritchard $7000 from one month to the next that is mind blowing. Hey Justin here’s my take on the car industry. I think this chip shortage is a load of frog shit,how long is this going to go on for. These manufacturers are making more money than they ever have. They no longer have to discount any cars to get them off the lot and there interest rates are crazy. Unfortunately they are holding the customer at ransom. They are all thinking “Why didn’t we think of this before”. So as long as people are willing to wait upwards of 1-2 years for a vehicle and except the price hikes like you mentioned above this game will never change. Just saying. There I feel better. Keep those awesome videos coming Justin. Cheers from NZ.

As always, another solid review. A question. Putting money aside, and assuming similar tires, real snow tires in snow, how do you think the Tremor and the Raptor would compare in bad, snowstormy weather, on and off road? I wonder about that extra width of the raptor, if that would be a problem in bad snow, say on roads and highways wider than normal truck widths? Other? Oh, and do you think the Raptor would be quieter at highway speeds than what you referenced here about the Tremor? I'm also considering a Platinum, the Powerboost, though would likely level it or the Tremor, and upgrade the shocks front and rear perhaps if I did go Platinum, any thoughts on that?
@JustinPritchard
@JustinPritchard 4 месяца назад
Good good questions. Fair disclaimer: I haven't driven the Raptor in ages. All things being equal, I don't expect any difficulty with a wider vehicle, it's like anything really. If you've ever gone from driving a small car to a pickup truck, you've already experienced this. With proper tires and driving, wider = more stable in the snow. The Raptor's suspension is less likely to be upset by rough and slippery highways, helping maintain wheel contact = better traction. I'd expect the Raptor to be louder on the highway. You sound like you want the Raptor. It's less work than buying a Platinum and upgrading the shocks too. Check out that new Ranger Raptor that's coming soon too!
@Nate-zy5ce
@Nate-zy5ce 4 месяца назад
Thanks. Lol. I like that Ranger Raptor, but as silly as it sounds, that optional fold out flat work surface in the front center console of all the F150's, but not in the suv's or the Ranger, that is something I would find incredibly useful. Take my laptop, cell phone and a mobile hotspot and make my home office mobile. Very useful. Other than that extra width concern on snowy roads being outside or near outside the tire tracks of others, on highways, like when changing lanes in snow storms, it feels a bit wishy washy crossing the deeper snow between lanes until into the next lane, am concerned that extra width will make it always feel wishy washy in those snowstormy circumstances. But then again, cars do not travel precisely in lines, so maybe the wider raptor would still fall within those tracks of other vehicles. in any case, other that issue, and maybe wishing I could plop the max luxury leather seats of the Platinum into the Raptor, you are right, I really do like that Raptor, likely the 35's but will consider the 37's. Thanks.@@JustinPritchard

I just have to say, I'm pretty sick and tired of the reviewer's (I mean all the reviewers on youtube etc.) comments about the Ecoboost exhaust note. In this flavor (sporty dual exhaust) it's been around since 2nd Gen Raptor in 2018, so there are literally, at this point, 20,000 youtube reviews of people complaining about it. Look, it sounds exactly like what it is, a V6, a very sporty V6. If people seriously want an inferior powerplant in the 5.0 V8 because it has a "cooler exhaust note", then by all means, get the inferior motor. Anyway, we've heard enough about the "disappointing" sound, it's a tiresome comment. For those that are a little more reasonable, It's sounds great, a nice deep, sporty V6 sound, from a...wait for it...a V6.
@gabetristan
@gabetristan 5 месяцев назад
Not so sure about the “inferior”aspect of it. I had a ‘17 with the 3.5 and 10 speed. I enjoyed the power of it- trust me. Just traded it in on a ‘23 Tremor with the 5.0. Off the line the 3.5 is definitely quicker. That being said- a N/A motor drives better than a twin turbo smaller displacement motor does around town. Yes if u get into the throttle and make boost it has more tq. Thing is- the 5.0 pulls way harder in the top half of the RPM’s and feels a bit faster. I am quite sure it will post higher 1/4 trap speeds than the 3.5. If u are towing a lot- a Super Duty is the ticket. For me- I’m more than happy with the 5.0. A nice extra benefit- way better highway mileage than my 17 got as well
