LED lights may work ok in the south but here in Canadian winters, with the lights giving off no heat, they freeze up quickly and therefore they are useless and even dangerous
Great job, great truck, great company. It’s so Interesting to watch these videos after being with them for a year. They really are humble but the reality is, the fact that they supply us with a truck like this out the gate and have such a great support system in place is really a blessing. I talk to a lot of guys out here and sometimes see new drivers using not so new trucks and they are SHOCKED when I tell them how prime takes care of their drivers. This industry is give and take and though their has been some temptation to have a hardened heart at times, it’s easy to not take out any small issues on these guys. They really have given us a fighting chance to begin this career. Just wanted to give my anonymous gratitude prime. Thank you guys. Obviously don’t waste your time looking for “Clark Kent” as I’m sure he’s still at the daily planet in Kansas but the picture is really me. My hair is just a lot bigger now haha guess I’ll add that side note as well, what a blessing to have a career that I can allow me hair to be in it’s natural state, an Afro.
We love to hear that! When you're ready, you can fill out an application at www.primeinc.com/?r=youtube or give our recruiters a call at 888-664-9121 for more information.
We have many operators who have successfully completed our Lease Purchase program this year! You might not be able to fulfill this commitment, but we have many drivers who can and have.
I wish the Cascadia’s had the option to haha upper storage compartments instead of a double bunk. The 579 Pete’s upper bunk can fold in half an act as a large shelf. Mack Anthem’s have 3 storage compartments instead of an upper bunk. Having said that, the Cascadia’s are dope trucks with a comfortable sleeper.
don't get the lane alert it will go off 100s of times a day false alarm just cracks in the pavement or, a sealed cracks. its stunning how annoying that those can be
Collision avoiding system is great! It 👀 things you don't and slams on the brakes and saves you, but don't worry about your freight, that's what the claim department is there for.
Very nicely spec'd truck. I'm kind of surprised that Prime hasn't moved away from noisy, and often high-maintenance APU's and switched over to Freightliner's EPU system with 1800-watt factory sine-wave inverter combined with an Espar bunk heater. I've had both set-ups and think the EPU and Bunk heater set-up is far nicer and much more reliable. It would also be nice if they spec'd the Freightliner factory TV mount arm instead of an outdated thermos holder. While we're at it, the curb-side emergency exit door would be a great addition as well. And Omnitracs? Seriously? I would think that a company as driver-focused as Prime would have far better technology than that piece of garbage, severely outdated, driver-hated system. Hopefully, for all of the prime drivers, they'll replace that dinosaur soon! Overall, though, I think they're very nicely spec'd trucks and Prime keeps their fleet newer and very well maintained, so big kudos to them for that. Their fleet trucks are far nicer than a lot of other mega carriers, for sure.
All of the lights are now standard as LED or just the headlights? And why can't we go ahead and make the jump to standard disc brakes like all the trailers have?
The remainder of the 2022 model year trucks have LED headlights. It has not been decided if we will continue that for the next model year. Cost vs. Benefit just hasn’t been justified to put disc brakes all the way around all tractors. It is an option that we allow drivers to pay for up front and order if they want them. We are currently working on our new truck deal and this is one of our items that we are looking at closely. Thanks for the questions!
Those aero wings unfortunately keep water on the side window when using the washer or when it's raining from being blown off the window and it pools right at eye level on both sides. I have to roll the windows down to get the water off of them. Also, it blocks windshield cleaning because the handle of the squeegie hits those wings. I wish I could remove them.
Thanks for watching our truck tour video! If you'd like more information on the differences between the 2020 and 2022 models, give Success Leasing a call at 800-491-1240.
Hi Eric. We hate to hear that you feel this way. Feel free to reach out to us at communications@primeinc.com with additional feedback on how we can improve the CDL training program.
It is very similar. The reps said the biggest difference is going to be in the engine and tech with the Detroit Assurance Gen 5 (that’s hard to show off in a video).
Incredible roller muffler bearings Inside with whatcha majigs on the air intake excellent power what’s amazing is the arrow dynamic cow catcher bumper smooth and elegant with top notch mirrors heated and adjustable; SWEET
Very good upgrades to the standard specifications over the past 2-3 years. Also Their is (3) three specifications you should consider adding standard that is a sun visor / 110 plugs Outlets 5 to be exact (1) one for the microwave (1) one for the refrigerator an at least another (3) three for phone, computer, printer ,gaming systems etc. A higher inverter about 2000-2500 wattage. I know that I said (3) three am adding (1) one more locking step box. Peace and prosperity!!!!!
the blindspot sensor makes a sonically piercing noise. it goes off for people on the sidewalk, guardrail 3 lanes over, or your own trailer. it's absolutely worthless so many false positive you will never believe it.
My biggest issue with Freightliner's blindspot sensor is that I can't signal a (right) lane change early without setting it off. This makes getting onto freeways from those left-hand entrance ramps miserable. I still like having it though.
A beautiful truck, it's bad that they don't deliver it to us in Russia, although there was a first-generation cascadia, and I drive the 2019 cascadia in the game American Truck Simulator from Czech developers)
Lots of new features but everything is the exact same as my 20 aside from the wind deflectors by mirrors, standard led headlights and a much larger detroit assurance camera. Looks great though. Might order one or buy out my 20 at eol. Not too sure yet
You can call it a thermos holder... I call it a tripping hazard. So goes the life of a trucker. I do appreciate HAVING the option though. Don't care for the "Noggin Buster" ladder either. HAVING the ladder is nice, but the placement of it is not ideal. The overall design of the truck is good though. The interior layout of the Freightliner is far more convenient then Peterbilt, particularly when it comes to storage. It says a lot when the 72 inch sleeper on the Cascadia has more usable space then the 80 inch sleeper on the 579. I would, however, take the ride of the Pete all day, every day though, especially when running team. That "Freightshaker" suspension just can't compete with smooth ride of Paccar trucks, particularly when you are in the bunk while the truck is moving. Wheelbase, ofc, does make a difference with that too...
Anyone else see the "radio controls" in the bunk? 😂😂 Didn't know the rear speaker mute counted as a full radio control. Would be nice to have the audio controls & automated locks in the rear of the FL like the Pete's & some internationals do though.
I wish I didn't get the LED lights on the headlight because they are not as good as the regular light bulbs because they are much dimmer and not as bright and they bounce a lot...I had both so I know the difference...plus they don't last as long
Nice, If I drive solo I get a friegtliner but as a team driver I can't imagine sleeping in friegtliner while it is moving. In Pete you don't feel any vibration in sleeper berth.
Cost vs benefit hasn't been justified to put disc brakes all the way around on all tractors. This is an option that our drivers can pay upfront. We are currently working on our new truck deal and this is one of the items we are looking at closely. This truck has a 1500 watt inverter, but can be upgraded to an 1800 watt (the largest we allow at this time). There are several upgrade possibilities available for the 2022 Freightliner Cascadia!
Hi Michael! You'll need to discuss this option with Freightliner. If you are a current Prime driver, you can reach out to Jeff Waara, our Freightliner Rep.
I absolutely DESPISE LED headlights with mad passion for many reasons that I really shouldn't get into. I can't believe they're even legal. Other than that though it seems like an awesome truck!
Go for it! We would love to have you join the Prime family! Let us know when you are ready to get started. It's a great time to get in the trucking industry.
@@GregBuda Perfect! The application is valid for 30 days, so you could get started with the application process now and be ready to dive into orientation after the holidays. Best of luck with your studies. Hope we hear from you soon!
He mentioned Prime Trucks like 1,000 times, I still don’t know what it is. Is it a dealership? If so, why do they have a DOT authority? I’ll research I guess
Hello! Prime is our trucking company. This is a truck tour for our Freightliner truck, which is set up with our company's specs and safety features. For more information about our company, go to our website at www.primeinc.com or call a recruiter at 888-664-9121.
APU means auxiliary power unit whether it is buy batteries or buy a small engine. HVAC is heating ventilation and air-conditioning. That could be powered by the main diesel engine or by the APU. Generally, if you have an APU you have two HVAC systems. One powered by the main power plant and one powered by the APU regardless if it is diesel or battery. Still does the same thing.
Hi Brandie! Sorry for the delay on this response. According to our Freightliner rep, there are no factory line handicap accessible trucks. Sorry about that!
Hi James! There is a 1500 watt inverter installed on this truck. Drivers can upgrade to an 1800 watt inverter, but that is the largest we allow at this time.
hi mjy name casey shanedoss im professional driver and im coming onboard next few weeks soon as i get my dot pyshical is prime really good worth ethic and good work place to work for ?
There are almost unlimited options with how you can set up your truck as an independent contractor. Reach out to Success Leasing at 800-491-1240 for more information.
Is it easy to get a truck going company or lease? And how long does it take to be on the look for truck list cause I just know I’m at the bottom when I called lease
As a lease operator, you have the option to choose your truck. As a company driver, you'll be assigned a truck on a first-come, first-serve basis. Be sure to communicate with your fleet manager for updates on the upgrade process!
Hi Robert! Thanks for watching our truck tour video. When you're ready, you can apply online at www.primeinc.com/?r=youtube or give our recruiters a call at 888-664-9121.
I have driven many Cascadias (2020-2022) and the experience has been unpleasant. They typically start out with somewhat tight steering when cold but after a few miles it gets looser and I was constantly adjusting. I had some with ultra sensitive brakes and accelerator and some just acceptable. I am currently driving a 2016 international and it drives like a dream compared to the Cascadias. I will someday buy a new truck for owner operator endeavors and Freightliner will not be considered. What do you other truckers consider to be vary adequate to pleasant to own?
Thanks for checking out the truck tour video! We love the Internationals as well. Thanks for sharing your experience with different brand of trucks. All great info!
@@PRIMEINCTRUCKING the new motor arrived at the dealer before the tow truck. Word is something to do with a rod. Not sure what the problem was as yet officially. The motor that failed is going to be examined.
Eeh to much can go wrong with that. If it fails and you can’t get the trailer detached. You have to get out of the truck to put the gear down and disconnect lines. Not that hard to grab the release and pull
@@kylemcintee5364 you can open the fifth wheel jaws with the pull handle outside if the solenoid fails. Worst case scenario would be crawl under the truck and reach through under the bottom with a pry bar to open the jaws the same as you do when those cheap Holland fifth wheel springs fall out on the ground. Gets the trl loose.
@@darrinrobinson6451 I’ve heard some people couldn’t even get it with the manual pull handle when the electronic release failed. My point is, if your right there dropping the trailer you have to drop gear and remove lines. Makes sense for a yard dog since they get out on the back on deck. Doesn’t make sense for regular trucks
You can just remove that. I removed it on my FL back when I had one. It’s one of the dumbest features I’ve ever seen and will stub a toe more than once for sure.
Es la primera vez que veo los ejes de tracción con ese tipo de llantas, es un solo rin? O como está conformado? Espero respuesta ya que ignoro lo que sucede ahí
All Prime trucks are 2019 or newer. As a company driver you would be assigned a truck. If you are an independent contractor you would have more options available to you.
There isn't a refrigerator in this truck yet, but we have refrigerators in our company store ready to go! We install them for our Prime trucks as well.
I have a 2022 Cascadia that I had ordered. I had to pay $450 for L.E.D headlamps bc it was considered a premium upgrade. But this guy saying that comes standard in the 2022 models. Anyway I can get reimbursed for that??
Hi Vincent! It looks like you ordered your truck before these LED lights came standard. Your lease payment does not have this upgrade factored in like those trucks ordered after LED lights became standard. For more information, give Success Leasing a call at 800-491-1240.
What is the size of the sleeper? What kind of mpg are you experiencing? What would be the cost, approximately of a Cascadia with this spec? Thanks for your response.
