That honda is ok but I just don't understand why it's not like in the UK where there's electric gear switch...not like what usa and canada version with that ugly oldschool stick yuck..
Ever since the 2016 model came out , always been impressed with it's look and all it offers. I see the 2022 is a new or updated new model, Honda always smart not to go beyond 6 yrs w/ same body style cuz the competition last year with the really awesome new Mazda 3 and the newest body style of 2021 Hyundai Elantra made me start to forget how much I liked the Civic body style.
I love all Civics. No matter what. I’m not like all the other people nit picking on the style. Those people are arrogant, and most of them join the style hating band wagon and actually don’t even know why they dislike a certain generation. All they know is a whole lot of people dislike it and so they will dislike it too. 🤦♂️
I drove my ‘02 Honda Civic LX for 18 years and REALLY needed a new car. I bought a brand new 2023 Honda Civic Touring in January 2023. Honda has gone back to their design roots. The 11th gen design has a classic ‘90s Honda look/feel, but modernized. I love the understated, polished exterior and semi-luxury interior. I also like the low dash and thinner A pillars. Mine is meteorite metallic gray with a two-tone black/gray interior. (But it looks ivory to me!) Honda absolutely nailed it with the 11th gen design! It’s a beautiful car and I’m super happy with it. 😊
@@montyv9801 even with a low interest rate most people still end up paying over twice as much in interest and never actually owning the car. with a japanese car it is certainly more likely to fully pay it off since it has a significantly higher chance of holding up over time, but people in the new car market tend to just get a new one in 3-4 years anyways.
I'm really impressed with this generations Civic's styling! I wish they offered the "Sport" trim with a manual Transmission. Also, I hope the "SI" trim is also a sedan, not really a fan of hatchbacks.. but those are still to be seen so you never know!
Same here, I really like the styling of the upcoming Civic, but I am disappointed that they're not at least offering a manual in at least the Sport trim for the sedan like they initially did with the Accord (which Honda obviously has phased out recently). I guess we have the option of getting an SI (which I think is $4-6K more than the Sport/EX models in Canada), but I was hoping for a Civic with the 2.0L NA engine with a nice 6-speed manual transmission.
Pretty sure they will do what they did with the last 10th gen, The Si will be based on the Sedan/Coupe (I know there is no more coupe) platform and the Type-R will be on the Hatch platform....It only makes sense....
@@robertalicea5585 Oh yes they do. I did, and I had to go to a faraway dealer to find a dealership that had one. Predictably, it's disappearing because they are making it disappear. About ten years ago, I asked my local dealership abaout an Accord with a manual and was told, "Nobody wants a manual." I said, "I do", and they said they'd call me when they became available. I have never bought a Honda from my local dealership.
I like all the new updates, it seems really worth an upgrade for people who like new cars, but I’m just shocked at how much it looks like an accord. Civic was always a compact/sport compact vehicle.. and they increased the wheel base to match accords and rivals like the maxima and Camry..
My 2020 civic Si gets here this weekend. I already bought a mishimoto intercooler , PRL cobra cold air intake, and a Ktuner. It will look great parked near my 2021 Honda CBR 600RR
I'm sure this was said below, but Great video. I wish there were more like this that explained what each trim level has. Also a package list available for each trim would also help.
I agree. As a consumer, I’m not 100% confident with the turbo engine set-ups. It also seems like there will be more models with a non-turbo. Sounds good to me!
For real. It would actually be more efficient for them to turbocharge the 2 liter than the 1.5 liter cause the 2 liter can actually handle it better since it’s a bigger engine. The 1.5 liter gets oil dilution problems. That’s why I got the base model LX for my 2019 Honda Civic. I’m a definitely try to keep it and get one of these 11th gen base models.
I know some may disagree, but I instantly like this Civic just as much as I instantly disliked the 10th gen. Only possible quibble is the leading edge of the hood drooping down, but may look better in person. As for everything else..perfect mix of cutting edge tech and retro touches. Outstanding effort by Honda👏
Wow. They just keep going. You can actually feel it when your driving a Honda. It feels like nothing is going to stop this engine from going. It’s so persistent it’s incredible.
I just sold my 2002 Accord EX 4 cyl Sedan yesterday. It had 196k mi. I seriously hated to get rid of it (not going to lie, I was seriously considering texting the guy to tell him I'd refund him if he brought the car back). It was just at the age where EVERYTHING was going at once. New power steering pump. Needed new Cat. Starter was going out. Had an oil leak (I'd already chased a couple of other leaks and then this one showed up, was told it was the timing cover gasket and seal). Wasn't sure what else was headed for doom. Plus, my teenage daughter had been driving it and it had a fender dent and cracked bumper and grill. Ugh. 😭
But yes, those older Hondas are so much fun to drive. I have a 2013 now, w/60k. Love how it looks. But not fun to drive with the CVT transmission. You don't feel a thing.
That is cool. I wish they would have seat memorization with the Key fab. My wife is 5ft and im 6ft.. is a shit show charging the seating position in your mirrors..
The reason the 10th gen sold so well was the way it looked and the performance I'm just not impressed just feel it has a identity crisis between camry and accord.
I really wish the sport trim had the 1.5L turbo engine. It looks so good but it's stuck with such a slow engine. I get there's going to be an Si, but the Sport would still be a very enticing option if it had the turbo engine.
Thats how i felt about the previous generation accord. I loved my sport but it was basically a dressed up lx as far as tech features but the 13-17 sport should have had the V6 w paddle shifters and not much tech as the compromise, it would have been the perfect package for young people who were the main buyers
We bought a 2016 Touring as soon as they hit the lot, and while it has had some minor issues, it has delivered on fuel mileage and overall reliability and the styling is still fresh. I kind of don't like that the new gen looks like an Accord which has been out for a minute, I feel that will date the look of the car in a short time, but that's just me, I would def buy this car again!
I couldn’t agree more. I previously leased a 2018 civic hatch and loved it, then decided to buy the 2021 civic hatch since it will be the last of the 10th gen civics. I had the same thought as you when I saw the new 11th gens: they look like accords, no longer a sporty car like the 10th gen civics
I keep watching this video and am sitting here trying to decide whether I like this car or not. I drive a 2013 Accord sedan, love how it looks inside and out (although the 6th gen Accord is my absolute favorite and those have the old school automatic transmissions ❤️❤️❤️). I love how this new Civic looks on the outside (like a mini version of my car) and the inside is nice but I'm just not crazy about that dash. That's just me. Overall nice job on the new design. Not sure if I'll get one or just stick with the older Accords.
Boss audio system👌... that was a great deal👍 this civic looks great and that bunch of technology makes this car a hard competitor. I can't wait to see the SI and the TYPE-R.
Hoping the accords come out next summer cause that’s when my lease on my civic is up so it will be perfect timing 😩 hoping it has all these features too
I actually like the new civic look. But a Honda without 6 speed manual transmission is just a hard pass. Time to wait a year for new generation of Accord.
@@wilchambers1401 yeah probably seeing how the N is more in a class with the type r......and the type r is always gonna be a far superior car then the N just in quality nevermind reliability
I just wish theyd drop the cvts. The only reason i wasnt totally satisfied w my accord sport. My moms exl v6 same year is so much more enjoyable to drive with the 6 speed auto
Sure all the new tech and standard features are cool, but it just looks like every other 4 door sedan on the road now. I guess all the whining about how the current car, especially the Type R, looked Honda listened and made it more boring.
Nah i think honda is gonna go for that hot sedan look like the Euro cars have been doing for a while with the type r. I mean look at the new type s from acrua. That rear end is sexy as hell despite the type s being a longer car than normal
I’m not sure whether the 11th gen is changing much about the smaller turbo charged engines in the newer civics, but the majority of engine problems in the 10th gen turbo engines are from lack of heat in the winter. Because the engine uses a smaller, more efficient design, less heat is generated as a cost to the efficiency, making it more prone to failure in the cold and during short trips when the engine does not have time to reach optimal heat
low speed ACC is INSANE for a base model, That shit is key these days in traffic! The car brings you to a dead stop and speeds back up! AWESOME! EDIT: Have to add it def looks like the 9th gen, face-lifted Accord! Which is a great thing!
Jason, have toy heard what this redesign means for the current Insight? The Insight in and out is a smash up of the 10th gen civic and current accord, so with the 11th coming I wonder if the Insight will get a 4th gen. I was sold on the new civic interior right away, but still struggle with the exterior.
These trim levels almost certainly won’t refer to the UK market. It’s a shame that the UK market is pretty much moving away from Hondas apart from the Jazz (Fit), the CRV and the new HRV, which is a shame. The Golf dominates sooo much, here, which is also a shame, I’d much rather a Civic hatch. Thanks for the vid, Jason.
Oh, I almost forgot, I asked the dealer when I could order a new 2022 and they said I couldn't order one now??? That's not how things work ordinarily once the car has been revealed, they usually hit the dealer lots shortly after and you should be able to order since building it takes about 8 weeks or more.
That is fixed already you don’t have to worry about that anymore the 1.5T has been out for some time know they basically fix all the problems and issues it had. So you can rest easy google it and see if there has been any other problems with it after the first gen of the 1.5T came out.
Isn’t the 1.5 turbo not even allowed to be sold in certain countries because of the oil dilution issues? I’m surprised they didn’t phase that motor out this cycle. I’m jealous of the Bose speakers.
Really disappointed Honda are sticking with the 1.5 turbo engine, my oil level rises in cold weather thanks to oil dilution from fuel and Honda won’t admit there’s a problem.
My accord 2.0 had oil dilution too, it ended up being bad fuel injectors. They replaced them and I don’t have a problem anymore. I wonder if that’s what’s going on with the 1.5 as well?
Sorry for the question, is EX-L a trim? I don’t see a lot of people mentioning it but it comes up as a search option & I’m not really familiar with it.
I hate how small cars make 18” wheels look small now, kinda ruins the whole vibe for me. There’s always old cars with proper proportions though, I think I’ll stick with those.
