The all-new 2022 Honda Civic comes with much-improved active lane keeping. It's not semi-autonomous driving like Tesla, but it's getting closer! And for a sub-$30k car, it's very good.

Adaptive cruise control is included and can be set to one of 3 positions I believe. It shows a picture of a vehicle with the number of lines indicating the distance you would like to follow. 1 line gives you the least slowing distance. The highest setting would normally be used for the hwy,

GET ON THE HIGHWAY (SINGLE LANE). So the Lane Keep Assist: say there is a diesel coming from the opposite direction, WIDE LOAD, taking up a foot or more in your lane, lights flashing pretty big kind of hard to miss, so you hug the white line and trust during this 'passing by' you each hold steady and true. Would the autocorrect cause an accident? How smart is it to where you decide not to be in control of your own vehicle? Have you tested that? Is it worth a life or someone's limbs just for a chance at beating a manufacturer in a lawsuit? Just how close to the white line you you have to be? Some instances you have to be on a shoulder. Say someone had just bought an outdated APC that is very wide. Is it still a safety feature at this point? Did you hear someone say it was a good idea and you are just repeating it is a good idea? Did you test it? I am more interested in what people know not what they think. I have seen a lot of videos where a lot of people talk about this feature from a number of manufacturers no videos of it ever being using. Yet everyone claims SAFETY FEATURE. Is this true or no. I do know you can have the warnings without having the vehicle take over. That seems ok. Does it follow Asimov's law? It will 'lane keep assist' UNLESS at the risk of endangering or harming a human being? I am not trying to insult you. I do not mean to hurt your feelings.

My '23 Hyundai Tuscan Raider Limited has a little display that shows you what the car sees, it's right there in the DIC. Also, I love the Hyundai highway drive assist - you can go for 5-7 minutes sometimes without touching the wheel. It is totally life changing for road trips and traffic jams/heavy traffic. I will never buy another car without a system at least as good as the Hyundai Kia system. It's so good that it will drive the car on regular city streets as long as it can clearly see the lines.

We just rented a '21 Civic and I was really impressed with the LKAS and ACC, like it's seriously life changing for road trips and commuting. Having the car speed up/slow even in slow traffic is huge and makes it so much less fatiguing. Lane keep works decently but only for a few degrees of steering, but it'll work for most gently curving highways.

I'm about to return a new 2023 RAV4 Hybrid with lane tracing and adaptive cruise control, and let me tell ya, the car is absolutely horrible on both fronts. The car hugs the right line and sometimes crosses over with lane tracing on. I have to actively move it back center, these features are supposed to lessen driving fatigue, and it actually makes me more tired. Then the digital display glitches when the lane departure warning comes on. lol Even without the lane tracing, the car is like out of alignment? Idk. It pulls to the right even after I sent it in to their dealership to align it and testing it out on flat roads around town. The adaptive cruise control brakes haaaaard when cars slow down, I thought I was going to get rear ended at one point. The infotainment system will not connect to my phone to use their app, so all my settings gets reset after I turn the car off. Plus the dealership rushed me out the door to buy the damn thing. I think I'll be going with the Honda CR-V, but not the hybrid because they don't have a spare tire in those...and all the other cars have horrible backup sounds in their hybrids. Honda and Toyota's hybrid sounds don't wake up the entire neighborhood. lol One thing's for sure, I won't be driving a Toyota from 2021and beyond. Seems like the supply chain issues made them rush build new cars and quality control went out the window, but it's just one car I got out of like thousands, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

How does it handle surface streets? Can it cross intersections fine? Previous Hondas had very low steering torque. Has that improved? Can it handle sharper curves? Same sh!t happened in NJ in June 2020 on a large scale, several hundred CRV 's got robbed of the damn honda sensing "radar sensor" in a matter of couple weeks. Because it's so easy to do without any special tools, they're able to rob 20 cars in literally 20min. Unsuspecting owners will be greeted with multiple warnings: Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, Road Departure/Mitigation System Problem, Lane Keeping Assist System Problem, Auto High-Beam Headlights Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Brake System Problem.
