Right on! I think you are going to like them. So much better then the OEM mirrors. Make sure you get a #3 Philips and use a impact driver. I can't imagine fighting with it or putting a torch or heat to get the bar end weights off...Good luck and let me know how you made out!
i'm not sure but i think the blue of your mirror is a protective film that you can remove by peeling it off the one i ordered is the same way i'll check it out myself.
I just checked the Amazon link I have in the description and sure enough it states that they are tinted for anti-glare. So there is no film on them. It's one of the reasons I picked those mirrors...Thanks for the comment!
I’ve got the same setup! Except I have a black mustang and black grom instead of a black boat and a black grom:). Just bought these mirrors and about to install them!
Nice! I've owned a bunch of 'stangs as well... I had a '96 laser red cobra and a '98 laser red cobra vert as well as some fox bodys. The "boat" hits different, tho. I wasn't a MOPAR guy before, but I really like This 5.7 Challenger Shaker. At almost 400HP NA and 400 Ft/lb of torque, it scoots. I really still like the mirrors even almost 2 years later. Ride safe brother and keep it on 2...
I ordered some cheap $20 kenimoto mirrors and immediately returned them lol... I just picked up a set of these; hoping they feel better than the kenimotos.. Side note, I used an impact driver like you, but I used a #3 JIS bit...fit perfect...Japanese industrial standard bits for Japanese bikes :)
Lol. Mine have still held up. And I like the blue tint. I guess if I had a JIS bit I would have used it. The #3 Phillips worked fine. You can’t just go down to Menards and grab a JIS…lol and it’s not like I’ll ever use that screw again. I prefer allen screws anyways… Phillips are a pita. Thanks for the comment and I hope you like them as much as I do.
Thanks Iceman, your video helped me out today. Are you still running these bar end mirrors? What’s your thoughts since having them installed. Thanks again your video helped tremendously!
Glad I could help. I absolutely love these mirrors. I'm going to do a new video today installing these same mirrors on my new pro taper bars. I would def buy them again. if you ever consider putting these on aftermarket bars don't lose the little bits of hardware that come with them. Impossible to find afterwards. I came up with 2 solutions because I did lose one of the wedge pieces. Thanks for the comment and make sure you tune in to the video once I drop it!
New black levers powder coating the rear set. A dual high mount mufflers and rap the forks black and this would match your ride getting old does suck 👍✌️👌💯🏍️🥂
I searched for the mirrors in Amazon but it's telling me it's not compatible with the Grom. Could you share the link so I'm sure to get the right ones? You da ma!! TY.
@@donaldmac1706 enjoy mate! I wouldn’t mind having one of those as well. This spring my son is going to get a Honda Navi. That will be interesting. I’m excited to show everyone all about it. It’s an awesome platform to bridge the gap from scooter to motorcycle. Stay tuned for more grom stuff once it warms up here! Cheers….
Anyway you would be able to tell me what size screw you have that fits into the stock hole in the handlebars? My kit did not fit and I would like to just buy an extra screw if possible.
I went back and looked at the mirrors on amazon and in the description it said m6/m8. So, i know that the bigger screws in the kit were not the right ones because they didnt fit the handlebars. So, M6 SHOULD be the correct screw size. I hope this helps.
I am having the same problem with the hex bolts on the headlight assembly. Would the same impact drill work on those? Are the handle bar hex bolts also 5mm because I want to change those as well. Thanks for all these videos they have been helping me a lot.
You can try the impact but the real issue is that the hex isn’t really deep enough to get a good fit. If you can get them out I would replace them. Look up an exploded parts diagram to get the actual size bolt/screw. The handlebar bolts take a 6mm hex to get them loose. Maybe I’ll find an appropriate set of stainless steel bolts so we can change the headlight hex bolts. I’ll let you know what I come up with.
Get a pair of T handle hex keys or socket hex bits (metric) because if you don’t set the tool in the screw head properly they will strip out very easily. So you got to get the rt tools for the job my friend then it’s to easy, good luck
the locktite keeps the fasteners from vibrating loose. it's a blue so it's not permanent. the red is really hard to get off and is supposedly permanent. both have their own purposes. Locktite is used on cars or any mechanical component or screw to keep things tight. Hope this answers your question. thanks for the comment.
@@icemanfiveoh Thank you~! Do you reckon it will eliminate some of the vibrations on the mirror as well? Just installed a pair on my other cruiser bike and that thing blurs crazy above 40...
for the mirror on the throttle side when you said "you got the spacer in here" - did that come with the kit? I bought the same mirrors to be able to follow along with your video. thanks!
The mirrors have the spacer included. on the clutch side you wont use it, but you will on the throttle side. these were meant to be expanding mirror mounts that grip the inside of the handlebar tube, so just remove that barrel piece and use the smaller screw. Don't forget to tighten the screw on the inside so the swivel is nice and tight.
I clicked on the video because of the bike and mirrors but I like the ride more then the bike and then was thinking why is he messing with this slow ass bike and have a fast ride. Your definitely going to won't to 300 cbf motor swap that bike 👍✌️👌💯🏍️🥂
@@icemanfiveoh if you are thinking a older grom have you ever thought just getting a clone Grom new there about 1400$ ever thing just about jdm Honda Grom will fit it so will the engine swap it would be cheaper exspeclly sense your going to haves to use almost all 300cbf part
I’ve heard about these weird little grom like bikes… now that would be interesting, swap in a 300 Honda motor into one of those knockoff groms. Do you have any links to this pseudo grom? Or a brand name?
@@icemanfiveohtype in boom Vader 2 gen the company call red fox if you wait till December you can get it for $1200 to your door right now it 1400 🏍️👍✌️👌💯🥂
Do at your own risk you might like it more than the real one after your done hahaha with it a aracer ecu will make tuning it Easy you would have to figure out what wiring harness to use I imagine the cbf 300. dropping it in and make sure the 300 runs if its out of a crashed bike and alignment of everything will be the hardest stuff. Besides that it will be a nice bike make honda want to produce a bigger one for the same price as the slow Grom now 🤔🤭👍✌️👌💯🥂
