2022 Honda Shadow Phantom First Ride/Review 

My dad had an 05 Shadow. He changed oil/tires and maintained the chain (they were chain drive then) and that's about it. He sold it with 30K on it and never had an mechanical issue. A very sold bike.

Completely agree about the pips. The tank color and all actually give the bike a quasi military look, so the chrome is a bit out of place where as they fit the Shadow Aero just fine. Nice review Dillweed.

Hahaha yeah I usually feel taller on warm days too 😅 This isn’t a bad option. I’ve always had a thing for Shadows.

Been looking to learn (and get) a bike license and oh boy the shadow does look pretty. I'm not a big fan of the rebels tbh (great bike, but the fuel tank placement looks really weird to me), wanted to find a shadow if i did pass my test as a first bike but its quite rare here. also 7:56 : IS THAT A SUPRA ??!!!

It's a shame that they are no longer available in Germany, it's really a nice bike

I love that color. Was on an Indian Springfield in that color a couple of weekends ago and I STILL love that color.

I still prefer the white one they did for 2020, but I'm also in the desert where all bikes become a plasma torch on your thighs after a day at work anyway.

Any gas tank colour is good for me... I need a 1984 v30 magna gas tank and air filter cover. Also I'd like to see you ride a mono-wheel motorbike 🙃😊

Personally I'm not a huge fan of that green myself, but I do love that bike. I want solid black, and whats cool is you can get aftermarket exhaust pipes that are matte black

If Honda would build a 1300 or 1800 Phantom like that. I would buy it! I like the looks of it. However, I do agree, black out the pipes too.

good video, i wanted one of those, i really wanted the Fury! my credit sucks!! so i went with a 2019 rebel 500. i haven't ridden for close to 40 years ago. me being 66 yrs old 5'6'' @135 lbs. the 500 is really good, quick, easy to ride, has the orange tank, saddle bags(i bought and installed) and the gp short exhaust. sounds great. but i like the Phantom looks, and color. that's really a great bike, unless you want to ride 120 mph forever. of course but that's nuts anyway.

Yep, it's a personal thing... it's ugly!! That green I'd just the worst.. the only thing lower to that is some of these flat colors...just bad!

It has 10x more styles than the Rebel 500, even if it's 1k more than the rebel I would get this shadow by all means necessary. Imo Honda did a horrible job with the new Rebels, except maybe the 1100, which at least looks more finished. but as always this is always subjective.

Cable clutch.. I have a problem with that. Honda, seriously, we’ll pay the extra $70.

2022? They must not have discontinued these in the US like they did here in Canada. I like the colour, and have actually considered wrapping my phantom (silver) that same colour. I too loved this bike when I first bought mine in 2016 (traded in 2013 cbr600rr), however after a few years have gotten bored of riding it and really missing the sports bike. Since bought a Triumph Daytona 675 and now considering selling the phantom for something else.

I'd like to have a bike like that but in Chrome and black I'm old-school and I don't think Honda will offer that model in that color with chrome

I am ready to trade in my 2006 Shadow VLX for this (no more chain maintenance! woohoo!). The Park Ranger Green is kinda growing on me. Hey... no windshield is FREEDOM! until going through a swarm of bees on the interstate. But... hey... that doesn't happen very often. Thanks for the ride!

I like the color and agree with you the fenders should match the tank or at least have a pin strip, decal flames anything to match the tank color .

That green isn’t my favorite. I’m all about army colors but that ain’t it brother. 😛 I just bought a rebel 300 ( first bike and completed BRC ) and I’m glad you mentioned not stepping up from a 300 to a 500. I was considering it. However, the reason I watched your video is because I wanted to look at the rebels big brother first and see if that would be the better upgrade. Solid video 👍

i bought a 2004 shadow 750, my MSF course we were on 250cc bikes, can i just get on and go? seems heavy and im nervous, plus i cant get to a empty lot so ill just have to start riding it down my road.. SHould i go for it?

I love my new to me 03 Honda shadow 750 Ace. Purchased it with 43k it's my first bike I got a new paint job and replaced everything on the bike. It's perfect now!

Could you test ride the 2022 Honda shadow aero

I recently bought an 05 shadow with 30k miles. With windshield saddlebags new tires for 1700. I'm impressed with the bike in general , but it's a little louder than I'm use to. New plugs make a world of difference if your bike feels down on power. I think i got it cheap, because the fouled 2 plugs. Bike has 2 per cylinder. Added a top case which is a must on everything.

Looking at one of these or the Ryker can am 2022

I'd like to see Honda use the V4 Magna engine and add a shaft drive. I'd be interested in it then.

Use the money and buy a slightly used bike with a bigger engine and better looks. And without drum brakes.

I love the Honda Shadow since the 90s and always wanted one. I guess this is my chance. Also, the "slowness" of this bike is what makes it even safer.
