My 2022 Scout Bobber Sixty was supposed to come with black, but it came with chrome. I just found out that the black slip-on mufflers are discontinued. There are still a few shops around the country that have them as of this comment date. But they won't be around for long. I'm replacing my chrome slip-ons and heat shield with black now while I can instead of waiting.
Makes sense! In my opinion Idian is doing it to make the Rogue more appealing. The Rogue comes with all black header and pipes, I think they wanna prioritize on that vs keeping on the regular bobber. Also, they likely know 90% of the Bobber riders end-up replacing the pipes with something else, seat and pipes are the first things to go..
Yeah, I was bummed when I ordered my 2021 and it arrived with those chrome heat shields. I'd been under the impression it was supposed to be all blacked out.
You are right, it was supposed to be all blacked out, but Indian ran into supply issues and they started using all the black ones for Rouge.. and started shipping the Bobbers with chrome exhaust. You should have called and asked them to replace it. I did and they gave me a discount coupon to buy black pipes.
If you haven't replaced your chrome- now is the time. The slip-on mufflers are discontinued, but if you call around, there are still a few shops that carry them. The Indian website still has the heat shield in black for some reason.
I know Indian has it on backorder. You may want to check their website for dealers who may have it. If not then the only two options you have are 1) see the market place, someone might be selling their used versio 2) get your chrome ones powder coated. I went with option 1, found a used one on marketplace in FB. I have also seen people spray painting them with High temp spray paints made for engine blocks.
Hey mate - I'm looking to buy this. Do you know if it's good for 6'1 height. Some review says, seating position is too low. Where are you based? Also, make a video about everything, like when did you buy, costs involved, any issues noticed, services etc. Thanks 👍
Hey Thanks! I am 5'10" and find it very comfortable, I can easily flat foot it so it gives me a lot of control. I feel the riding position is great, however since you are 6'1 it might be different. I would suggest you do a test ride before buying it, see how it feels for your preference. I am based in Texas, will do a video with my 1500 miles review, services etc this weekend. These ones were sold by Indian but it seems they have discontinued it now. Check with a local dealer or look up internet, they might have one in stock. They are called Indian stage 1 shorty slip ons
@@paramjitsahota4864 then only option will be to get the chrome ones poweder coated. Look for a shop near you who can powder coat them.. or buy a high temp spray paint usually made for engine blocks and paint it yourself. I have seen many people do it.
That would be true for earlier model, but Indian decided to go cheap and started using steel clamps more like zip ties. My 2022 model had those, I had to snip them out using a cutter and dremmel tool.
