I always seem to find myself cheering against Paul…and Ricky for that matter just b/c I’ve been so used to them winning all the damn time for like the last 7 years. I was cheering hard for Calvin and Kevin, but man the pressure just always seems to break Kevin at the worst time.
I love how Paul and Calvin are walking together, smiling, laughing and shaking hands on the way to their first playoff hole. The world needs more of that.

I used to think "drive for show, putt for dough" but then I seen Calvin throw a drive on 18 and then 1 for the playoff. Calvin can drive to win. Amazing.
I was literally screaming when KJ had the throw in, then again when they went into hole 18 with a 3-way tie, then a third time when Calvin had the drive on 1 in playoff. Couldn't agree more.
Look at the teepad before McBeth throws, look at it after he throws. I'm glad Calvin won, but they need to make sure the teepads don't do that. I'm sure it affected Pauls shot.
Happy for Calvin. He's been grinding hard for a while and always so close. Great play and great closeout this tournament. Shout out to Paul as well. His ability to stay focused is unparalleled..

Kevin Jones seems to have the most top 3-5 finishes the last few years without closing the deal. A made putt here or there, and KJ would have been 1st by himself. Great playing from everybody in lead card, including the "new" kid Alden Harris.
Even though I avoid comments like the the plague. I appreciate the heads up. Just wish they would hide the top comment. It's usually got some spoilers and it's almost impossible to avoid. Pinned comment should be top comment, so content creators can influence the one "seen" comment in the food.
I guess kevins drive on 16 might have sealed his fate, but it wasn't for sure until such a weird shot trying to get under that tree. And then the approach on 17. And the drive on 18 :( I love Kevin so much. Might rewatch his DGPT win from Charlotte!
Spoilers alert** Calvin is my favorite disc golfer, feels like I’ve seen him in contention so many times only to falter on the final round…and it’s awesome to see him get past those last round yips and clutch it out. Great last round by all the guys on the card and as always thank you Jomez. I watch disc golf because of you guys.
Officials tired of seeing McBeth win. How can they even deny him the 5th hole drop, and then the playoff hole turf slipping under him on throw. Sad that officials couldn't get it right.
What point is mentioning a slipping t-pad? Same circumstances for everybody. He was just pissed he shanked the throw. Or how do you think it works? You think before every throw from the T, there is someone who is cleaning the t-pad? Dont sound real I guess ;) And when it is windy and rainy three days, and someone is the most pro professional, like McBeast is, it is your think to observe and count with. And the 5th hole? They said the rules are clear, so what is there to talk about? You just are not being objective, clearly.
Bit confused, at the start of hole 9 - Jerm said “these guys have plenty more holes than Gannon, so he’ll have to do something special…” But Gannon was tied for 2nd place after first 9, so he had the same amount of holes left. I feel like maybe Jerm was mistakenly referring to the “live” world where Gannon was actually multiple holes ahead on his card.
Calvin is easily one of my favorite players on tour. I actually clapped when he parked the last hole. Looking forward to "Jonesburg Open "in 2023 ("Kevin Jones, bro Open" might be a catchier name).

Paul finally called called out Jeremy for his ridiculous hyperbole that he's now infamous for. Dude needs to peace out of coverage because he has spent any mojo he had in the early years.

Thank you for the excellent coverage. Could you please have a talk with DGN&DGPT about why they are putting up winner highlights videos out right before you put you B9 videos? It's ruining many people's coverage and it feels like it is being done maliciously against viewers that prefer post-production over live. Not sure what you guys could do but maybe something, I hope. Problem is that since I've searched disc golf for more then once in youtube the algorithm will recommend me those videos and they show up on the frontpage before I can even get to Jomez vids, even though I've unsubbed and blocked the DGPT channel
@@_TMac_13_916_ And I'm not talking about the final round highlight videos, I'm talking about "Calvin Heimburg highlights 2022 Jonesboro Open" video this week, and the week before "Chris Dickerson Highlights Champions Cup" video. Of course if there is a "final round hightlights" video I'm not gonna watch it if I'm waiting for Jomez, I have no problem with those since they spoil nothing in the thumbnail or the title. Problem is that they are releasing "Hey look this player won" videos that just spoil it in in the thumbnail and the video title. And I'm trying my best to avoid those but it's pretty hard to do it when they're released right before Jomez and youtube just loves showing it in every possible corner even though I want nothing to do with the DGPT channel ever again
Can't help but notice Calvin's Lip Twitch before the bomb on 18 was a bit more exaggerated, it looked like he was downloading the data from the matrix. Check that man for performance enhancing brain microchips. What a great tournament showing for the whole card! Well done JOMEZ!
The ending of this round was so amazing. My favorite part of the entire tournament was how solid Alden played! I hope we get to see him on coverage at Idlewild this year!

Paul had a valid complaint in the playoff. Look at the teepad before he threw vs after he threw. He goes over to Jeff Spring and points at it. The turf was clearly loose and messed up his footing causing the errant drive. They really need to get things like that under control at these elite series events. Calvin then proceeds to throw and plants in a different area that was smooth. Even when Calvin and Paul started walking down after they both threw Paul looks over again at the pad.
Slow the video down to .25 speed and watch Calvin plant his toes on the "messed up" part of the tee pad and still throw a better shot than mcbeth who early released on a hyzer angle. How much do you love Paul that you're willing to say that Calvin didn't simply execute a better shot and earned every bit of that win. And besides Paul is 3 for 8 in playoffs the stats are starting to show that he tends to choke in these high pressure situations. If you need more proof I would strongly suggest you go watch world's from last year.
Paul should have looked at the teepad if it was a big issue. That's like saying the grass is too tall for my layup shot. Ofcourse he will complain about some thing

What a round - thanks for this. Every player in this card I could easily root for the win. Too bad Kevin didn’t hold on to his lead, but I’m very happy for Calvin. This was due for a long time! Loving the comeback from Paul after those bad breaks (and a phenomenal start). That teepad ”breakdown” for Paul’s last drive was awful, not to say that he would have parked it without that, but now he didn’t even have a chance. Calvin still earned that victory 100%. That drive in that situation - way to seal the deal 💪🏼
I saw the overtime. I don't know who was in charge of putting those teepads, but whoever it was he gets a F for failure!Disc Golf will never become a high end sport if these officials continue to neglect the quality of the course to serve the best disc golf players in the world.
I just can’t fathom why kj goes forehand on 18 after he sees Calvin’s shot. I understand it was an errant throw, but even if he gets a better throw, I don’t see how a sidearm shot has a chance to compete here.

Remember y'all, winning isn't everything. But watching the lead card this weekend has been everything. Great players, course, volunteers, video crew, and of course commentary!
Paul McBeth lost 3 strokes to the course. 2 to a fluke bounce off the coozie and 1 in a spit out. He still managed to force a playoff. Meanwhile K Jones throws a long, blind up shot that just landed in the basket by accident and Calvin threw a few shots into trees/woods that bounced to favorable spots. That was GOAT-level shit. I don't think the best disc golfer won this one, but it was a treat to be able to watch nonetheless.
What a tournament. The entire back 9 was incredible. Kevin's throw in. Paul's eagle on 16 from a knee. Calvin's drive on 18, and the park job on 1. Just awesome to watch. Calvin was absolutely due for a win 🏆 Congrats 👏
I don't watch sports. But disc golf has captivated me! And jomez is the best! Big Jerm, Nate and Paul have the best personalities! Hope Jomez never goes away!
This was such a good round. All heavy hitters. And the previous 2 rounds, the new kid was absolutely slaying. Some talent there. I called Calvin taking it at hole 4, he always delivers! Kevin is doing amazing stuff too. Love the coverage
WOW, even faux George Lucas is impressed by these sick flex shots! This was an amazing tourney, so much so that I watched the final round live and on uDisc instead of throwing my phone in a ditch for a day or two to avoid spoilers. I gotta admit that the last part was because of Knut Håland tho 🇳🇴 🙌
Watched Paul's throw on 1 again, @ 36:30 He looks like he threw it just fine, it looks like he just screwed up his throw.. I believe he was embarrassed so he blamed it on the tee-pad afterwords.. Not saying the pad wasn't messed up. Just saying it doesn't look like it affected Paul at all, I believe he's using it as his excuse tho.. Human nature, number 1 guy can't have people thinking he messed up that badly.. nah uh..
