2022 Kia K5 GT // Is This a REAL Performance Midsize Sedan?? (290 HP!) 

I've seen a couple of these on the road and it made my head turn when I saw that it was a Kia! Definitely looks better than an Accord/Camry.

I always have to say one thing in this video: I totally love the gray paint job on this brand-new Kia K5 GT. Also it's my dream car for sure. Also I rather get this vehicle over it's competition, Because this Mid-size sedan is a performance to several people including myself. But excellent review bro.

Bought a ‘22 K5 GT a couple months ago. Loving the car so far. The design, technology and drivetrain are some of my favorite things. The GT definitely would benefit from AWD but it’s still a great car, you just have to be careful about when you put the power down. I’ll definitely be getting winter tires as I live in Maine where we have pretty harsh winters. I also have the Wolf Grey but with black interior. Best color option in my opinion! Nice review guys.

kia/hyundai is absolutely killing it. this car is freaking beautiful inside and out. i would choose this hands sown over the European competitor models without a doubt. kia/hyundai is killing it on every single car they have come out with in the past couple years especially. they have very very quickly become my favorite manufacturer

I don't get how the sportier GT can't be paired with the red seats, which in my opinion, if you're going for a performance oriented car, should be an option for sure.

The Wolf Gray paint really does look good on the KIA K5.

My 2023 Kia K5 GT continues to impress me with all the bells and whistles that are included. At the dealership, this K5 MSRP was $38K (including GT1 pkg). My out the door price was approximately $41K (taxes, dealer prep, licensing etc.) I am averaging about 18 mpg in city driving. I live in Florida so use the air conditioner all the time. It is quiet in the cabin due to the laminated glass on the driver's door and passenger's door. In my opinion, this is a luxury midsize sedan with performance.

Thanks for the video! I surprisingly like the color combo! I think Kia did a great job considering the sporty looks and the technology, but would’ve liked to have seen a fully digital gauge-cluster. To me it is a special product since there are not that many mid-size sedans that are this performance oriented.

You made another slam dunk video Drew and Mason! I really like the Kia K5! Where I think I would want the all-wheel drive capability. I really would like to see an auto dimming rear view mirror inside! I would also definitely prefer the red interior. But I definitely like the performance of the GT without question! So I guess that would relegate me to the GT-Line sedan over the GT model for those couple reasons. I would also like to see rear seat air vents on the GT Line as well! I think the 2.5T is the real standout in the mid-size sedan competition. The 2.5T has both port and direct fuel injection. I've always been a fan of Honda, but I think they really messed up with the 1.5T GDI for ALL their sedans. Apparently, they require fuel injector cleaning at the dealership every 40k miles, and they're seeing some injector failures. Also, blowing head gaskets has been an issue for some. CVT requires service every 30k miles.

You do get a lot for the price point. It’s not up there with the big boys but some of these standard functions are options on the luxury brands. I’d definitely drive something like this. It looks great, fun to drive, great on gas and price right

Very informative review of the K5 GT/with the GT1 package. The only zonk that I see for this automobile is the lacking of an automatic day/night rear view mirror. My 2020 Stinger GT1 does have one and I feel that this should be included with the package. JS

Question.....hows the knee room? I know in my older 2012 tahoe, my knee rubs up againt the center console. Does this do good with the side knee test????

Got my 2022 Kia GT Black on Black, last year July 2021. I keep looking for other GT's but I've only seen one other GT on the road. I love the car and how it drives. Best car on the road for the money.

As much as I LOVE the new Sonata especially the features compared to the K5, Kia definitely knocked it out the park with this design! I seriously hate how much I like the looks of this compared to the sonata 😅 Hope Hyundai comes out strong with the refresh/redesigned 2023 Sonata.

Kia absolutely killed it on the design of this car. They had to strike a careful balance of making the car stand out in the class but not overshadow the flagship Stinger. It shows so well in Wolf Grey! And at $37K, it is right in sweet spot against an Accord 2.0T or Touring but less costly than a loaded Camry XSE V6. There are some concerns though. Why on earth would Kia product planners think GT buyers would want the brown over red? The EX should have the brown since it is the luxury-oriented trim, and GTs with red. The brown further highlights some of the cheap plastics inside of the cabin as well. The tops of the doors, center console, and a few other areas scream econo-car plastics quality. I also didn't see heated rear seats on this loaded model. And I really believe that Hyundai is not budgeting Kia to have the digital gauge cluster because it is unavailable on the K5, Telluride, and Stinger, but oddly on the Sorento.(yet products like the Tucson get it standard). And finally, Kia it is time to get with THE TIMES: Add wireless Carplay/AA to your 10" head unit!!

Is the 360 camera only for canada?

No one gave me Compliments on the K5 when I owned one, maybe because it was a Basic LX model with the old Kia Badge on it. My 2022 Kia Stinger with the New Kia Badge on it makes a big difference.

I'm guessing there was no limited slip diff on this car. Is it available as an option? Also, did you have trouble with the dual clutch transmission in stop and start driving or parking? Normally, reports say it is jerky as it has no torque converter, although I read somewhere Hyundai/Kia got around this problem by using a wet clutch system. Not sure what that means and how it works.

I like the Sonata N line and Kia K5 Gt but the difference for me is sonata N Line has a standard 12 inch digital display which is a deal breaker for K5 that doesn’t offer that option Evan on Gt. but without a doubt both Kia and Hyundai are killing the mid size sedan market

Kia dropped the ball for the U.S market. There was no reason to cheap out on the 10.25" cockpit here and give us that 20 years old gauge, if I ever decide to buy a Kia, I would drive 600 miles north and get the Canadian version

If they would have kept this one all-wheel drive it would have been sold for me

Man it's about time been looking for this review from you guys, finally thanks! Love this car, I want this car definitely the GT1 package the only issue I'm having in my area is I can't find em. I mean the Kia Dealer parking lots around here are next to empty so are other auto dealers. I may have to go to a dealership and see if they can find one at another dealership and hold it or pick it up for me. So frustrating.

One complaint is gonna be wired carplay. Not sure why Kia did that, you include a wireless charger but require a wired connection for CarPlay. Even my 2021 Kia Seltos has wireless CarPlay

I got brand new Kia k5 and 4 months of use and there is some noise from dashboard coming in right at the control panel sounds like mice kinda noise it keeps coming nonstop

While not as stylish as this, I believe the Camry makes more power at 301 hp.

Nice car BUT to bad it is FWD, should have been RWD or AWD, but these BOSE systems in cars today are average, B&O was done well in Audi's imho...
