I got 2021 EX Red Inferno Just Positive Comments..Solid .Good Accleration With Ivt Transmission Good Sound Systèm Good Handling This Kia is a Plesure to Drive
The hydraulics messed up on the back hatchback door of my 2014. It doesn't open up all the way and I'm always hitting my head on it. I'm still driving the car and I think it's been a great car overall.
its the same motor from Elantra 2017 to 2020 and Forte 2019 to present, Seltos 2001 to present. Just change your at 5000 to 6000miles/KM and your good.......
This is an awesome base model. I reconnected with an old friend today who apparently works at Kia. He hooked me up really good with an 2022 LX they have on the way coming straight off the truck. Coming within the next 10 days! Great review man!
Just bought the 2023 model. My first Kia. I’m very surprised by what you get. It’s a nice bargain and is well equipped. Has a little bit of guts, too. A great option for people on a budget or who just need a practical car, which was my reason to purchase. Glad I did.
I have 900 miles on my 22 LX with the Tech Package, bought it 3 weeks ago I love it plenty of power handles great, and I'm really enjoying it. Would buy again in a heartbeat if I had it to do over.
Excellent review, especially with the drive: viewer feels almost like he's there, and you've addressed most every aspect of the driving experience. The audio and video are super, and most important, your enunciation is perfect and overall there's none of the nonsense you get with some of the RU-vid reviewers, which gets old pretty quickly when you're trying to gather information and run into entertainers. As for length and information presented, there's a certain limit reached by a review that I've come to appreciate. Even some of the very impressive reviews get into diminishing returns for my needs, which mainly are to cover the most ground and mainly just get on with it. Best regards.
It's so crazy to me seeing people in the comments like "I just went and ordered a new Kia Soul like it was nothing!" like WHATTTTT does that not break your bank!?!?! I'm only 18 and about to start working at another job to be able to afford a down payment and monthly payments for a Kia Soul! I don't have much but I'll get there eventually! ☺
I miss my 2020 Kia soul lx base model it had only 28,000 Miles on it I highly recommend this vehicle definitely worth the test drive and the price it does great on long road trips....safe driving out there everybody
Just bought my second soul last night. Love the kia soul but because they are so lightweight they do not hold the road too well in the snow. Kia needs to make an awd soul. Lots of room, easy to get in and out of and so much fun to drive. Owned 3 kias now and just keep coming back to them!
I agree AWD would be a great option for the Soul! I’m really liking these new kia’s too, hopefully they keep their prices low and quality high haha thanks for the comment!
AWD knocks your mileage way down. I live in FL so I don't need it. I'm impressed with this vehicle maybe that's why I see them everywhere. Can't believe this vehicle only weighs 2800 pounds.
Going to test drive this exact same Kia Soul S tomorrow! One thing I’m missing is a drink holder in the rear seating area! Otherwise it looks really good!
I have/had a 2020 Kia Soul "S" model. I say "have" because there was a recall for oil piston rings. Kia replaced the engine and within 3 weeks that engine crapped out.
@@nevets68 I have a 2016 no warning and premature engine failure 87,000km. I can afford to drop a new engine in it but I won't, I consider myself lucky that mine never caught on fire. What I will do is tell everyone I know about Kia👍✌️. Ps, even though the engine is toast, I just got another call from my dealership that there is another recall...yah, I've moved on already.
That Review Waiting For I Got 2021 EX Model and Really Love The Sound Systèm is punchy and Very Fun To Drive with IVT Heated Steering And Seat Blind Spot Warning Ect....
Two things you missed: tilt/telescope steering wheel and manual transmission mode where you move the shift lever to the left in drive and moving the shifter forward will hold each simulated gear (and it is quick) plus downshifting is very handy (just move shifter back)…one person commented on this mode and said there were 8 forward gears, my 2021 LX only has 7. Thanks for the review!
I'm thinking you should have your transmission checked, since the 3rd generation Soul came out (2020,2021,2022) all of the IVT models have the same 8 simulated speeds.
Would I be stupid or wise to buy this in 2024 out the door for $16,500 with close to 65k miles on it (fleet miles). They've got it listed for $15k, and originally came back at around $17.7k all in. I then offered $16.5k best and final. They came back at $17.2 so, I had to leave. I only have $15k cash (literal cash), so $16.5 is already more than I was hoping for but I've been struggling to find a car. I am trying to avoid a lease. Anyway, my dad called up there to ask what the fees were if the taxes were only 5%. The guy then told him they'd accept my $16.5 offer and didn't elaborate any further. I know nothing. Is this good, bad, shady, normal? The exterior and interior are clean. I really wanted a 2018 Kia Optima but the ones with lower mileage are out of my price range, and the ones in my range are significantly older, or have well over 100k miles. I'd really appreciate your advice because I'm considering purchasing this tomorrow 😅
I personally think 16.5 is high for 65k miles. If you put 15k down on a new Soul Lx which otd you should be able to get under $25k, you’ll get it paid off in 3 years under 300 per month. Or you can extend the term to 5 years and pay like 170. At least you’ll have the piece of mind of reliability. At 65k miles, it can start costing over 170-300 per month really quick.
What do you think of the speaker/sound system in the LX. I have heard that you need to turn the radio all the way up .Thanks....Great channel and great review.
I just ordered my new Kia soul 2022 with the LX and technology package which is almost the most money you’ll save in insurance will pay for this package but the package to buy is the S package from what I’ve heard can’t wait to get my car in 2 to 3 weeks South Korea’s pretty far away thank you and have a great day
The IVT on the Soul lets you choose an 8th simulated gear in manual mode, where the engine turns only 2,100 rpm at 70 mph, down from about 2,800 in drive mode. The 6-speed manual 2020 and 2021 Souls also turn 2,800 rpm at 70 in 6th.
Super review... you covered a lot of stuff. I have a 2021, thus the same except for a couple of aesthetic deets. I do have a few corrections and comments, as an enthusiast: * I've never seen one without the KIA emblem on the hood! That's unusual, maybe a pre-production sent out by mistake. * Headlights: this is a mind-blower, they vary on the model. On the LX the high beams are in the lower section along with the low beams, and the upper section has the blinker and a sort of day-running light, maybe called "parking" light. But in upper trims the headlights are up top, and a much cooler LED (I think) daytime running light! * Likewise the climate control has auto on upper trims, but like you, I so prefer manual that it is one reason I went with this entry-level model. * There are a number of upgrades by model level, such as the 10.5 inch infotainment screen once you go to the next level. * 1st comment: while you didn't mention the manual shifting, it works really well, and adds both a fun factor and a practical one when you downshift for braking. Just tapping the shifter to the left "S mode" (to enter manual shifting) seems to do a similar thing as "Sport" mode, raising the revs and keeping them higher before shifting, but it has no effect on steering. * My thoughts on the gas cap door: it seems like a nice safety feature that it can't be opened from outside. * Oh yeah (maybe you mentioned?) there are the same sort of hydraulic "shock-absorbers" for opening and keeping the hood up, which is not typically found on economy cars. * The 0-60 ratings I've seen are around 8.5/8.6. * If you drive with an easy foot and no sport mode, gas mileage will well outperform estimates, however you can't measure it with the MPG stats on the car's readout, it doesn't measure the loss of start-and-stop, resulting is very skewed figures. The more short trips you do (or use the engine cut off at stops feature) the wider the discrepancy between the MPG's it reports (higher) and what you'll get using the old fashioned measuring method. If you want to amend any details, as you may know, you can edit the video to add clarifying text, though none of my points are critical ones...
Thank you so much for your review!! Long story short; I had a vehicle and then I didn’t. I looked for a used vehicle around 20 to 22k. I didn’t find much that I liked. I decided to check out the 2022 Kia Soul and found that the pricing was very comparable to a used Kia. They sold 6 by the time I got to the lot an hour later. Crazy!! But I was able to quickly see one before I left. I went out looking again today for any and all vehicles. I was near the Kia dealership and decided to call them while I was getting the $$ at another lot. They didn’t have any but told me that I could come by and put a deposit on one. I drove over and they had just received the Kia Soul that I wanted. There were people there so I told the salesman “let me go ahead and put a deposit on it. I didn’t want anyone to snag it before I did. So I didn’t get a good look at what I was purchasing. Your video gave me something to see and I thank you! I was getting a bit worried. It’s getting really hard to find anything affordable right now. Again I thank you for showing me what I’m picking up in the morning. I’m super excited!! Not a fan of freeways, which I’ll be on for the first time in this car… but Uber excited!! Thank you for the tour!!!
Agree with a couple comments why new KIA logo missing from hood. Could be this dealer Soul LX demo had hood damage in shipping, or body damage. That's on dealer not reviewer. Good review from a car nut since a kid. WTF is Welcome to Florida right? kidding. I'll check out your other reviews.
@@WTFCRLT1 did you ask anyone about it? And I can't remember does it have Lane assist? I remember you showing a button for traffic control but what was that?
I did ask but unfortunately nobody knew.. I don’t believe this car had any advanced safety features standard.. could you be talking about the drive mode selector between normal and sport mode?
I love this car omg the drive is amazing I hit the highway going 90 to 100 it goes veryyyyyyyy smoothly I was surprised I was driving a KIA!!! IM THINKING ABOUT INVESTING INTO THIS CAR YALL MUST TRY
As a mom, I'm looking for a car that has a backseat that will accommodate different car seats as my child grows; and, air conditioning that will cool the back seat. There's nothing worse than having a car that doesn't have backseat cooling with a little kid stuck in a hot car seat they can't get out of. I need 4-door. I need enough room for a stroller in the back; a travel bag. C'mon Kia. Can you help?
Bought the 2022 GT line 2.0 with all the European trims. And man how I love this car. The first time I try to floor it, passing a few car that was in front of me. One of the cars came in my lane where had to swerve from then hitting me . My Kia roll a few time but because of the low profile tires I was to control my Kia Soul not flip it. Wheel handling was a plus for me
Just picked up a 22 soul lx, I love it. How did you manage to get one without the hood logo? Lol Mine has the remote start added (so I have the flipkey and a second tiny kia remote), and the GPS tracker anti-theft system. I didn't have a choice, that stuff was already on it.
