My KLR is still pretty much stock from the factory so I think I’ll have fewer issues. Thanks for doing this. I think your solution was pretty clever. I hope you make a second video and let us know how well it stood up.
I just installed my tusk pannier racks with the same exhaust. I ended up cutting 1” off of the end of the mid pipe on the slip on end and cutting 1” off of the exhaust and and using a 3” grinder to cut slits in the exhaust for the bracket to grip. Was able to fit the exhaust and the back support for the pannier racks perfectly. I can share pictures of you desire.
Awesome, I did end up cutting an inch off of the mid pipe also. It just cleared after that. I did end up modifying the tusk tail bar bracket also for more clearance. Thanks for the comment, that should help folks out with installation!
On the 300 I’m running an AMS Bite MX on rear 110/100-18 Front Trakmaster 80/100-21 I would think the 120 D606 would be fine , I run a D606 130 on my KLR 650, it has plenty of room.
With the factory tail set up it was fine. When I modified my tail to tidy it up, that’s when the plate was in the way. I have since loosened all of the exhaust bolts , got the exhaust in better position, to where I can get the tail bar mounted in the proper place , as you did it . It touches tag & pipe slightly, but some bushings will take care of that. Thanks for watching & commenting!!
