This Lexus NX with normally aspirated engine will cost much less in maintenance and repair if owner intends to keep the vehicle for a long term. I kept my 1985 Supra for 23 years. My current Toyota Sienna is 18 years old and runs great with minimal repair and maintenance

single-stage rear cup holders; very nice. No buttons or compartments to push to activate the holders; just fold, find, and use. Ryan, nice to see that Toyota provided you a warm puffy jacket for those brisk PNW car review days... 🤔 If this were an actual wagon (estate), it would probably stand out more (and possibly look better too).

Being able to get to the top of this hill with all season tires tell this little thing will be spectacular with winter tires in everyday winder driving. Still, I would have preferred the nx had kept the previous gen's NX 2.0 turbo for this gen's base trim.

I test drove the CX50 a couple days ago. I am not a little guy and will say the Lexus is a much nicer ride than the CX50. I am about 2-3 weeks from getting the 250.

I really appreciate Lexus offering a non-turbo NX. We own and still have our 1999 Lexus RX300 which now has 403k so longevity and simplicity is key for us in our next suv. The NX 250 with the RAV-4 non turbo is perfect for us plus no required premium fuel.

If you want a fully loaded it costs you an arm and a leg. Its the reason why they won't include it unless its certain models and certain packages. They do it that way purposely so to get you to pay for ludicrous pricing on the options.

Honestly, my first question is can you sleep in it? I really enjoyed my Mazda mpv whose 2nd and 3rd row seats folded almost flat and slept 2 adults easily. I miss those kinds of vehicles.

@@louisgiraldin3827 I have a deposit on the hybrid version and the review of the base 250 put me at ease. These vehicles are selling as quick as they can assemble them. These little vehicles are pretty impressive, even though they are dressed up Yota’s. I’m fine by that and intend to keep the vehicle 8-10 years, if possible.

Heard from a dealer that leaving traction on and leaving with wheel spin will cause it to deteriorate. Not sure if this is true, but living out in country, i always turn off. I don't like assistance with wheel spin.

As an owner of a 450h+ (in that same blue); I'm kind of amazed you can get a 250 fully loaded with the Lux packages. I feel like at that price you should go for either of the 350s (if not the 450).

here is why! sometimes people want the LONG RUN!... they dont have to deal with the more maintenance of a 350 or 450... and the 250 engine is LITERALLY BULLET PROOF and easy maintenance and less complications! this would make a great commuter car if horsepower is not an issue etc.

@@KuyaArbee I agree . The 250 engine is way easier to maintain in long run . The other hybrid options and 450 option more parts have the potential to go wrong. And with turbo option more stress in engine . I got 250 luxury option and it's great

Another Great review Ryan ! Isn’t it true that the NX is Lexus’s answer to the RAV4? I tested a new Rav AWD Limited to replace my 11 Rav 4WD Limited with the 3.5 V6. I wasn’t impressed with the new Rav. I chose the Subaru Forester Touring instead. Perhaps on my 75th birthday (18 years from now), I’ll buy a Lexus NX to treat myself. But I do LOVE my Forester Touring

I would like to see how the electrical only AWD system in 2022 NX 300h will fare under the same condition. Basically, I want to see the different between electrical and mechanical AWD system behave in snow/deep snow conditions. I believe mechanical AWD systems that we used to is on its way out across the board.

I will probably get a Lexus NX 250 after my 2009 Lexus RX 350 is done in the next few years. However, I will get a 3-4 year old NX basic model with low mileage. I don't want Sun Roof and other fancy stuffs. I don't want to spend too much money on car.

We've been trying to find an NX 350H or even NX 350. Not available in western WA or really anywhere. Looking at a huge deposit and long wait so we gave up. Maybe next year? Toyota needs to fix their supply issues soon or they're going to lose a huge market share for years.

It’s not really Toyotas fault, it’s more of the chip shortages from 2020 that is affecting them plus the NX is also relatively new. They are doing a whole lot better than GM tho 😂

Believe of not the salesman from Toyota dealer just show me the waiting time is 30months for a new corolla cross hybird in WA. Anythings have need to wait at least for 10months. Some models not even have a estimate waiting time. That salesman was despaired and introduced me to look for Mitsubishi.😂

Why did you substitute the Olympics testing for the Cascades? Folks will compare this car in hybrid form to the Venza. I like can you sleep in it comments, since in a pinch that’s useful. What about lane centering?

I used to live in Kirkland. Now I live on the Peninsula. This is a lot easier to get too. (Traffic between here and the cascades is sometimes horrendous.)

The 250 is the best model . It's the only model to take regular fuel . And it will be cheaper to maintain than hybrid versions. I have 250 model and it's great . And good to see a thorough review on 250 model . You usually see reviews on 350 and 450 on RU-vid

lol wrong. The NX350H is only 800 dollars more, has 36 more HP gets 39 mpg US Gallons vs 26. AND AS PER THE OWNERS MANUAL, TAKES 87 OCTANE , same engine but two electric motors to add the HP. You cheaped out and bought a Rav 4.

hmm, definitely not happy with a lot of the seat and hvac controls being a part of the screen. they should remain separate in case there are issues w/ the screen. and they're much easier to locate when driving unless they decided to add some sort of appliqué to the screen to simulate it.

Every carmaker uses different size wheel/tire options rather than everyone just getting together and coming up with a general size and going with that. They should, seems how every dang "Crossover" car out there looks all the same, except the totally ridiculous price...that $50k car honestly ain't even worth 1/2 that. Its a hatchback car with AWD, and it looks totally hideous. Its not anywhere close to a station wagon either, those had room in them without needing to fold all the seats down.

Mazda CX5 is better than that rav4 adventure's engine and auto trap in Lexus body. 8-speed automatic is very jerky and hunting for gears all the time on a highway which generates loud engine noise in cabin and gas mileage is not good in this car. I have chosen a CX5 over this overpriced lexus NX 250. Lexus hybrid NX 300h with CVT auto is the best option but very pricey compare to rav4 hybrid and wait time is over 12 months or more.

So, for only $51k I can get a warmed over Rav4 with a less luxurious looking interior than the last generation, electronic door handles that won't open in the rear unless you use the emergency function, a weak non-turbo non-hybrid 4 banger with about the same torque as a base Hyundai Tucson, just a little over half the rear cargo capacity of a Honda CR-V, and a giant fingerprint magnet touchscreen with menus to dig through for basic functions? Where do I not sign up?

I drive NX300H 2021 but do not like this new NX. And I do not find any obvious reasons to buy it. Premium brands are generally pointless these days (unless you want high power vehicle) : you get less for more money. There are "non-premium" vehicles which are well equipped, run smoothly, silent and are inexpensive. Yes, and they are also powered by 4 cyl. engines as is this Lexus and many over "premium" cars. For example: what is premium in car as far as rear seats are concerned? Seats are adjustable, so they are in some non-premium vehicles, heated seats...the same. Simple cupholder. Lack of sunshades - you can find them on many vehicles (e.g. Nissan X-trail). And noise suppression is not that great. Check it yourself but compare to something else than the RAV-4!

My 2020 toyota Camry XSE v6 is so much better than this joke. In fact my Camry is better in just about every way than ANY Lexus nx. More power way better performance and handling and ride, quieter, more luxurious inside, more legroom, a lot more refinement, and it’s way better looking

Wow a vehicle without a damn turbo....other automakers take note. Other than this thing is totally hideous looking.
