"If you like driving, that's why you buy Mazda". Perfect summary. Based on experience, I fully agree . As for the infotainment system, i was worried about the lack of touch screen, but 3 days in I already find Mazda system very easy and intuitive. Great car and review 👍

I'm tired of people complaining about the lack of a touch screen. There is a slight learning curve, but the dials and the buttons on the steering wheel are very intuitive. While using Apple Carplay or Android Auto the voice commands are fantastic.

It's really annoying after all these years to continue listening to reviewers, complain about the lack of a touch screen, and the visibility around the c pillars. I have a 2020 all-wheel drive. The lack of a touch screen is only an issue for the first week or so until you become familiar with the controls. At which point, it is an incredibly intuitive and easy to use system(and keeps your eyes on the road...where they really should be in the first place). As far as the visibility is concerned, between the blind spot monitoring, and these crazy things called side mirrors, combined with a very useful rear view camera and cross traffic alert, I have had zero issues with visibility in the two and a half years I've owned the car. I understand these reviewers don't get as much time with the cars as they probably need to to become comfortable with them, but it really is a disservice to the car, and undermines the credibility of their advice. After two and a half years of ownership, I only have one complaint: no manual transmission in the AWD. Other than that, a fantastic car, and incredible value for money!

I've owned my manual Astina 2.5 hatch (top spec) in Australia for 3yrs and have no problem with the rear view. The dial for the infotainment system is perfect. Set what you want before you start off and then concentrate on driving not the bloody tech.

Agree totally regarding the strength of the engine and the steering and handling abilities of these vehicles. I'm driving a 2021 3 HB 2.5 Turbo which actually is the sweet spot for me. Substantially less expensive tan the Premium trim and I don't miss any of the options. All is not rosy, however, as the miles start to rack up. The Bridgestone Turanza tires drive well but by 6000 miles they start getting noisy. I've found plenty of reviews of this a exact tire and it is a known issue with it. The caliber of sound deadening in the 3 HB is obviously insufficient to deal with the noise. By 10K the noise became terrible on all but the best road surfaces. Also, around 10K the ride began to degrade. Gone is that refined yet firm ride. Now it tends to be harsh and bouncy, especially in the rear. The area I live actually has pretty good roads so its not been subjected to rough and potholed roads. The strut valving performance at 16K+ is inexcusable for a modern car at this price level. It appears that when Mazda ditched the multi link rear suspension for a cheaper alternative, they did the same with the struts. It's still an overall great vehicle. I just wish I had the money to replace these Turanza's with Michelin Pilots and could then convince the Service department that the rear struts NEED to be replaced under warranty.

This Mazda 3 Turbo is my dream daily car, like sure others are better but this Mazda offers everything I would ever need or want from a daily car ❤️ (I would take a sedan though, I've warmed to the Hatch's looks but I like to have good visibility and dislike claustrophobic feeling cabins 😅)

My only gripe design wise with the latest 3 hatchback is I feel like they either should’ve brought the rear window back a bit more or even faked a rear quarter window like the Miata RF does. There’s just so much mass and thickness between the rear window edge and the hatch IMO. I love how they styled the CX30, not sure why they couldn’t have designed the 3 more like that. Otherwise, I do love Mazda’s design direction in general. Their desire to take their brand more upmarket wouldn’t be possible without a design language to match and they certainly have that in spades.

Hey Dave, got to reach out to you on this one. The problems that Mazda had with reliability (which was a real problem) was the result of their partnership with Ford. They have since broken that partnership, moved their manufacturing for most of their cars back to Japan, and have done a lot of re-engineering. As a result, two years ago Mazda took the second most reliable manufacturer place away from Toyota on consumer reports, which factors not only current models but historic. This means, for all practical purposes, 2018 and newer Mazdas are probably some of the most reliable cars you can get. I feel you on this, as in my younger life I had two rotaries, a Fiat spider and a Volkswagen scirocco that tried to catch fire. As a result, I won't drive anything that isn't in the top 10, most reliable. They've really gotten their act together over the last several years, and I thoroughly encourage you to give them another chance. Side note, they're now partnered with Toyota and even have a joint manufacturing facility in Japan as well as one in the southern United States.

IF calling "now that's design" something that ends up with a B pillar that stops your view as soon as you turn or a massive C pillar that completely makes you reliant on mirrors or cameras....then you really don't know what true successful design means. and I love mazda...as I own 3.
@northrollingacres
@northrollingacres Год назад
I have a Jaguar and I can't see out of it, either. It's brilliant design, too -- in terms of form, not function. That is what I am saying about the Mazda.
@paulpellico3797
@paulpellico3797 Год назад
@@northrollingacres yes...but i thought function was indeed an important problem to solve in the design of cars. i think they blew it on the lastest 3 hatch. it is like people always giving BMW a pass when describing the 3 as the perfect car and bashing many American cars when they never really had to include a functioning rear seat. look, I understand the love...like mentioned, I own 3 mazdas...and i have a 08 135i and it is fantastic....as long as I just use the rear seat as storage
@northrollingacres
