Nissan is so underrated when it comes to their pick up trucks. They are so reliable and compared to the new ford pickup trucks. They are holding wayyyyy better reliability! Not as many recalls and easy to work on. I love the lore behind the Nissan frontier how it was also the first small pick up truck to also become a double cab!
With how big the 4runner is if Nissan dis it right it would have been a big seller. I think it had its best sales year in history a few years ago despite being old. Just printing money.
The 3.8 V6 is essentially the next evolution of the existing VQ family. I don't find the dynamics of this powerplant significantly different than the tried and true 4.0 V6, not that I am complaining with that. What's tried and true works for me, especially since it's affordable. It is also worth mentioning this new V6 is direct-injected unlike the outgoing 4.0L.
Somehow, based on price and usability, I think Nissan has it right. I've been looking at these for a bit, and when considering price, features and long term durability, I think it's quite compelling.
I’d be interesting for you to travel abroad to try out the Frontier’s distant cousin, the Nissan Navara and compare and contrast the differences between the Frontier we get and the Other we don’t get.
The 2nd gen Frontier are a good looking truck. The new one looks sharp! I am glad to see Nissan improved on what was already a great mid sized truck. I own a 2019 Frontier SV 4.0 V6. It's strong, rugged, hauls loads really well and yet it is comfortable. I actually prefer the 4.0 as it is not direct injection.
Nissan's VQ engine architecture has been around for over 20 years, much longer than the 3.5 in the Tacoma. It's a bullet proof engine platform that's easy to work on, and that's why I'm seriously considering buying one of these, along with its overall simplicity and durability. I've owned 2 previous gen Frontiers and loved them, so I'm very familiar with this platform. This redesign isn't perfect, but considering that nice discounts can be had on the Frontier right now, it's an attractive option compared to shameful dealer markups from that other brand. I still plan to wait and test drive the new Tacoma before making a final decision, but I'm a value oriented guy and I am sure next gen Tacoma pricing will be heart attack inducing, but we shall see...
more ppl than you think have filled up their plastic gas jugs while it's sitting in the bed of their trucks which has caused a lot of unintended fires from statis shock, over the years.
Oh I believe it. Just strange that Nissan did that. That’s not their responsibility technically. Like a hot dog stand telling you the dangers of untied shoes.
I actually prefer the previous body style to this one. It was actually a small truck. Also, as at the time of releasing this video, Toyota has already unveiled the new Tacoma, and it's now an all 4 cylinder engine lineup, with the first hybrid powerplant in its segment.
