Strong work, brother. We've all been there, couple years ago I missed what I thought was a gimme with my muzzle loader and later realized the rear sight had worked loose and moved on me. Luckily it was a clean miss, but all the same. Another great video!

Gotta pay too play is what my grandpa used to tell me ! And never use up all your vacation… in case you wound something and need a day or two extra . He was right we were headed to Wisconsin during what used too be the salmon snagging season we went every year , well a good friend of grandpa offered too bring his huge John boat . Well middle of the night deep in the Wisconsin woods on a two lane wheel bearing burned up ruined the axle on the trailer trailer was old no such part use we had too buy a new trailer and grandpa went around asking For 240.00 from everyone it was about 2k went he got too me I was 12 and I had brought 120.00 that was all my mowing money I had made and he said I was a good man ! I was so proud . But later he snuck my money back to me he know I needed money to buy some smoked chubs I loved from up there and my parents and siblings gifts .

@apex-livingwithpredators8379
Hey Jose! There’s two great ways to learn a lot, fast. Go out with a guide that’s willing and able to teach as he guides (I am such a guide to be transparent.) and/or check out The First Hunt Foundation to find a mentor. I’m also the national director of their diversity program too. It’s free to mentees too. Check out my first Hunt foundation and guided Hunt playlists.

This was in Ukiah, though in the McCoy creek drainage. FS21, which runs up McCoy creek is the dividing line between Starkey and Ukiah. The cougar I took a month before this video was about a mile away, in Starkey.

Hey man I live in Oregon in the heart of some good wintering area for elk and deer which means that's where all the Mt Lions go during the winter also. Got a side by side side with tracks on it planning on using it this winter to cut some fresh lion tracks and track them down on foot. If ya want to plan a hunt with me get ahold of me via my RU-vid channel my email is there

I just solved an only going accuracy issues with a Winchester Model 70 in 338-win mag which for 15 + years I thought was just the guns bad accuracy from the factory. The first sign of accuracy picket up was after taking off the 2-piece Leupold scope ring mounts off the receiver then putting back on the action's receiver a 1-piece picatinny rail to mount the scope rings on that itself cause a significant improvement in accuracy. Then the accuracy started to get terrible again then I found that the scope rings the screws from the recoil had pulled up and caused threads to strip and how I found all of this was I seen the scope had shifted 2 inches forward in the scope rings from the recoil of the 338-win mag. So, I bought new scope rings that have 3 screws on each side of the scope ring for more clamping power on the scope tube. I just shot at 100 yards using full max charged reloads with 338 225 grain bullets a 5 shot group of 1/4 inch . Never in the years this rifle has been in the family could this rifle ever shoot such a tight group. By the way this rifle in 338-win mag is maga ported to reduce recoil, but the recoil is still so bad it pulled the scope ring screw up and caused scope ring threads to strip causing the scope to shift 2 inches forward on recoil. So, if you are having accuracy issues with a rifle remember how I fixed my accuracy problem, it just might be how the scope is mounted in the rifle? Ebay is a great place to buy scopes - scope rings and mounts.
@apex-livingwithpredators8379
Thank you! That was the exact issue here, the pic rail had come loose and I didn’t notice it. I broke it down, loc-tighted the screwed and got it dialed back in. It’s been fine since.

@@apex-livingwithpredators8379 That is interesting you had the same problem most likely caused by continued recoil. For at least 12 years I just assumed the Winchester Model 70 in 338-win mag had bad accuracy from the factory. Over the years I tried working up new reloads with nothing improved the rifles accuracy. The whole time it was the scope ring bases shifting and the rings also causing change in point of aim. It is like I was going crazy because my scopes I was putting on the rifle are Leupold Highest valued scope. Now I put all new scope ring mount and rings I wrote about now I have never seen this rifle shoot so accurately as it does now. I just shot a 1/4 inch 5 shot group at 100 yards. During site in I knew I have fixed it because each time I did adjustment it was so accurate I could easy judge how many clicks would move the point of bullet impact which I hadn't ever seen this rifle do ever before. The scope is a Leupold 30 mm tube - 4.5x14 with the 56 mm Lenze that has the U shape to rest lower over the barrel.
