To put it in proper perspective OSHA says 85 db averaged over an 8-hour period then you need hearing protection. So little blirps to 105 db is not hazardous unless it averages out to more than 85 db over 8 hours. I would think it would be way more hazardous to buy one of these without consulting the wife, than listening to the music that engine produces.
“Our tight and twisty circuit”? Y’all are at the Porsche Experience Center in Carson CA reviewing one of their greatest products released as of late. I wish you would be more exact. eg 3247lbs. Full tank of gas, all fluids? Thank you.
I presume they done the test on turns that arn’t wide which explains the low numbers, but since its narrowed and measured explains why the STO and others are also low but measurable and can compare cars togather
This is an amazing car. As a Porsche 718 Cayman S owner it is to bad that we/you and i cant by this sound racing machine. My local Porsche dealer get one car to have in there inventory late 2022.
That's the amazing part, they've convinced people it's not artificial..... Remember years ago when AP commented on the importance of creating demand... creating demand
I find it hilarious when people who've never raced real karts compare a road car to one. They fracture ribs under cornering. Now compare that to the measley 1.18 g generated by the Cayman 🤭
@@l-charge8438 Well, the Cayman is famous for being a mid-engine vehicle. Are they going to stick batteries where the engine is currently? Most auto makers are going with flat battery packs that make their platforms more versatile. Just seems weird--the world STILL needs awesome, gas-powered vehicles. I'll always want them
@@paulstring yes, they do, it will become really special, the Battery will be where the engine currently is. The goal is a 1500kg 50:50, starting with a 400HP, at the end absolutely not stupid.
@@paulstring yeah it's hard to change motorsport from best noise to no noise...but I think we don't have a choice do we? F1 still makes noise and the formula E is sterile. If there is a formula for an exciting electric sportscar - Porsche will figure it out first. The sound of a flat 6 up to 9k - well that will be history.... and this kind of cars need to be taken care of.
If Joe Biden keeps screwing up your economy, gas prices will be so high, these sort of cars will get killed off, as happened in the UK in 1972 (but that was only temporary). With the 0-60mph time, one reviewer (Remove before Race) did it in 2.96 whereas you slid your way to 3.5. I don't think you are correct in saying the GT4 does 3.8 in manual, as I have one and the Porsche quoted figure is 4.4. Anyway, thanks for making us pine for a superb RS car.
Its not Joe Biden mate - it is the global economy, easy to point finger. We are happy to have him right now, imagine we would have the orange guy in the office with 2 real crises in parallel, then we would have been seriously fffd.
@@bavariancarenthusiast2722 2 real crises? You have had many since Joe Biden was elected. Not to mention all the cover ups over his finances and Hunter Biden!
Corruption of any sort is not a joke. Anyway let’s just enjoy our cars. Sounds like you are stuck with BMW and their strange designs, though the M4 GT3 is ominous and purposeful.
