Drz400sm discontinued in Australia for the last year or two now, lucky enough to have one.

As others have said, 2023 gets a black and a yellow version. But considering Kawasaki updated the KLR, I do see a refresh/upgrade in the near future for the DRZ.

I love my DRZ 400 SM but it's understandable if they don't come back next year. A DRZ 450 SM would be super dope. We'll wait and see what the future brings.

i just bought a brand new 2022 drz400sm, i fucking love this thing, but you hit the nail on the head. i wouldnt buy a first year revamped model but i would after a few years of real world riding. i dont mind the carb, i want to do the fcr carb when i do a full exhaust and 3x3 mod, all 3 at once. going to get an acerbis oversized tank, saddlebags and handguards and im basically set for a really long time.

I’m really hoping if they decide to redesign the drz400 it would be either a 450 or larger, because I’m not sure I’d want to go to a lower cc bike.

I hope they change it. Make it a 450, to compete with the Honda, add a 6th gear, FI, throw some RMZ suspension, maybe an aluminum frame, and we're good.

Why update?? Suzuki literally has ZERO COMPETITORS at only $7k........the Drz is still profitable..... That is a Win-Win scenario for Any business. Updating the bike would cost Suzuki Millions.....and the price will jump over $10k......and Now, they are forced to compete with a large shelf space of competitors.....very very bad idea. If the Drz wasn't selling, then you update.....but if the bike is selling, don't fix what ain't broke.

Suzuki could absolutely upgrade the brakes. Go to a 4 piston caliper on the front with a steel braided line. Somehow shave off 30 pounds(they are soooo heavy)maybe an aluminum frame and plastic fuel tank. Put some real foot pegs on it instead of those tiny oem ones. And then of course upgrade the engine, possibly with larger displacement and a higher compression ratio. Last but not least everyone’s number one wish, a sixth gear lol. Feel like I just wrote out a Christmas wish list to Santa Claus ha ha ha ha.

you are smoking some SERIOUS drugs.......Literally NO ONE has 4 piston calipers on their 400cc bikes......even the CRF250 is OVER 315lbs with it's "high tech lighter frame"......there is NO 400cc Dual Sport on the market less than 300lbs, period......that's Dirt Weight, not Dual Sport........if you think 300lbs is heavy, you seriously need to hit the gym.....an 80 year old could pick up a 300lbs bike.

@@94SexyStang Yeah man of course none of that is gonna happen. That bike is frozen in place due to emission standards. Not to mention Suzuki has been pulling back from all of their motorsport endeavors. Seems they are streamlining there business.That was mainly a previous DRZ owner pointing out all of the areas that could be improved on that bike.
