Do you feel like the windscreen reduces with noise? I went on a 2k mile road trip lately on my mt07. I had a blast but the wind noise on the highway was starting to really get to me, especially going into heavy headwinds. I feel like an mt09 sp is my dream bike upgrade but I’m concerned about having the exact same issue with extremely loud wind noise on the highway. I already wear earplugs and even then it’s just really draining after 4 hours or so
i agree i was trying to put off buying a new exhaust since i just bought my R7 but it sounds so bad stock i had to pull the trigger on the Yoshi exhaust.
I just installed it on mt09 and hate it. It puts alot of wind on my neck/under-in my helmet. Sounds&feels like turbulence. I am 5'6 tall so maybe to keep in mind for people who buy it.
going to look at one next week but wondering how this will feel. i'm 6'3" and am currently riding a MT10. i feel like its going to sit really low for me
Not that it matters much since the Bolt was discontinued in my market in 2020 (new emissions regulations, ugh!), but: I'm still of two minds about the thing. I'm sure it's a better motorcycle than comparable Harleys - as lots of Japanese cruisers are/were, but, at the end of the day, you'll still be riding a Yamaha. If your heart's really set on an H-D and you want all that history and antiquated-ness of the brand, the Yamaha won't do it for you. I did own and ride a metric cruiser in the mid/late 90s while a few of my buddies were on H-Ds and it wasn't even a close call when it came to ride-ability, power/performance, etc - the Japanese bike would run rings around the Harleys and I always had to go easy on the throttle if I didn't want to leave the Fat Boys behind when we were riding together. And it was only a puny 800cc Kawa that, on paper, only made marginally more power than the Evo. Still: There were moments when I felt like I really, *really* would've preferred a "real" H-D for all the wrong reasons. Like an engine that seemed to want to jump out of the frame while idling or a transmission that would give off that "clunk" when you put it in gear. Of course, that usually only lasted until I jumped on one of their US bikes and found out just how terrible they felt if you wanted to do anything but chug along in a straight line at 60 to 80 kph... :D
So I just sold my R7 because I ride an hour to work everyday and it just was not as comfortable as I wanted. I'm looking at the 2024 Yamaha Bolt. Thoughts?
Depends on the type of riding you want to do. More offroad, back alley, city ripping? Or main road, highway commute with some twisty roads? Both will be great!
@@UrbanMoto there are a multitude of exhausts at virtually all price ranges out there for that bad boy. I have Dr Jekill & Mr Hyde and what a lovely deep guttural tone without causing myself or others to turn deaf.
since you're also an engineer you can tell yamaha engineers how they're meant to make a two cylinder bike with 689cc make 100hp without raising the price point lol, R7's sell very good for a very good reason
I don't disagree but don't you think they could have at least tuned it a bit different to give the bike something the MT07 doesn't have? Totally understand the bike was made for 2 different riding styles but dang. Yamaha could have at least thrown a tune on there :)
😳 I disagree with 99.9% of what you said. That bike have more then enough power and torque to have fun and it’s fast enough. And turn the brightness up on the dash if you can’t see smh
Get a tinted visor though and tell me it's easy to read? Also power and tq is subjective. I think it's overall terrific but it could use a little more to make it different from the MT07?!
Terrible opinions. With that price point it’s offering way way way more than these complaints Plus all of them are hugely subjective. Coming from a Ducati I absolutely love the R7
I love the R7 to which is why I bought it! :) These are minor complaints coming from other fully faired bikes. I'm just sayin Yamaha could have made it a little more comfortable with a little more adjustability with slightly more power for how they were marketing it no?
the only thing I hate about my R7 is the extremely low quality paint job, the clear coat scratches even if you look at its general direction. I’ve got a black one, I baby it, it’s still full of scratches :( otherwise imo it’s the perfect city sportbike.
@@mencibenci That is interesting cause I have not noticed that per say. I did see some clear coat peeling on the gas tank but didn't think much of it. Maybe I need to look at it more carefully.
@@bearwolffish I had a 2008 R6 then got a 2014 R1 almost killed myself multiple times on it and I'm an advanced rider I miss my Yamahas so much I got a honda repsol 600RR same as the one on the show HOUSE. MD and it was way more comfortable but not at raw then I got into cruisers got a shadow 750 then a Harley Sportster 883 now I have a 2019 sport glide stage 2 but still in the back of my mind I crave an R6
@@bearwolffish if I could I'd get a 2017 R6 that's my favorite body style as a second bike but knowing how I ride my Harley like it's a sport bike very very aggressively and I never wear gear I don't think I'd be responsible enough anymore
@@odinisgod4577 I agree def does not have the power of the R6 but that wasn't Yamaha's intent. I do miss my GSX R 1000 but I almost killed myself on that too haha. The R7 fills the fully faired void in my soul!
