Had a deposit on ‘23 GR86, and waited 10 months, no show. Got my deposit back and pulled the trigger on the ‘23 Si. No regrets!

Si for practicality (family), mpg and manual shifter. GR86 for sports car feel and as a weekend/second car. I imagine both will be a good daily driver, it all comes down with your purpose. If it will be my only car, Si or just wait for the type R

I gonna perfur the 22' Honda Civic SI sedan.

I'm considering both as a daily driver, seems like the GR86 would be a little more fun but the shifter and MPG is better in the Si, plus the Si seems more practical.

I test both, and I finish with the Si. Love the car, love the handling and the space. With some mods, you'll have the perfect power

I think the si would also be way better in the snow.

I'd buy the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GR86 over the Honda Civic Si, any day of the week, hands down! The GR86/BRZ, is not only naturally aspirated, but has 28 more horsepower and 184 Lb FT of naturally aspirated torque-with a beautifully tuned flat torque curve. Furthermore, the Toyota GR86/BRZ twins are 137 pounds lighter than the Civic Si: The GR86/BRZ weigh 2,815 pounds compared to the Civic Si's curb weight, which is 2,952 pounds. As a result of the GR86, not only being more powerful; it's also naturally aspirated, and it's 137 pounds lighter. The GR86/BRZ, will smoke that Civic Si. The Civic Si needs 6.7 to 7.0 seconds to achieve 0-60 mph. The GR86/BRZ does 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. In a drag race or if your driving on the twisties, the GR86/BRZ's with its rear wheel drive platform and all around superior driving dynamics over the Si; the only thing the Civic Si is going to do will be looking at the back end of the GR86/BRZ far off in the distance. Don't get me wrong, the Civic Si is a nice car; I'm a Honda man, myself, however, over the years I've become more flexible in my appreciation of other cars. Every single review I've read and watched on the GR86/BRZ; the reviews have been off the charts. I LOVE this car, I want one. Furthermore, I'm not that impressed with Honda's tiny 1.5 liter turbo engine, it's got major turbo lag, and feels like a real dog off-the line. You really have to work that tiny 1.5 turbo engine to keep the power on the boil. Overall, I think the Civic Si is way over rated, just as I do the VW GTI. I can say this because I've owned several of each model over the years. I enjoyed them, but I thought they were over rated. Ben, thank you for your review.

I've owned both the 22 SI and 23 GR 86. I quickly realized that you can't really compare these two cars. I would hands down choose GR86 over the SI, but admittedly I miss the latter, and would own both if I could. The ride in the Civic SI is absolutely punishing, but I like it a lot. The shifter is better in the SI ( ruined by lag), but I prefer the GR86 shifter feel. I was shocked to find out that the GR86 seems to be put together a bit better than the Honda in terms of rattles, and quality of components used. Overall the Civic SI just wasn't that much fun to drive and at the end of the day felt like a sedan. They both have wheels and can be driven daily lol Tbh, the Honda is worse to daily drive, even though you have more room. Also, you'll be able to get a Civic SI for a few more years however the GR86 is already gone, so if you had to choose between the two I would go with the Toyota. If you've had the opportunity to drive them both , nobody will ask which one you chose.

Still think my Si shifts better than the 86 and you canyon and backroads feel of the Sj is simply better. Not to even mention all the creature comforts the Canadian Si has that tge GR86 lacks

If you are considering the SI, just get the Hatch Sport with a manual and save some money.

Good thing I didn't go with your advice. I had a 2018 Honda Civic LX Sedan 6-Speed Manual. This new Si is a big upgrade for me. I don't want to have the same engine again but in a hatchback with 18 inch wheels. That's a waste of money.

Wrong. Terrible choice. With worse resale value in the long run. Don't make that mistake. The Si is more coveted and gives you better bang for you buck later in the future too
