Cars like Hyrider makes a lot of sense if your major driving are within city and mostly to and fro work. Considering this, I would love to see a hatchback with Swift or Tiago size with strong hybrid tech. .it would be a great vehicle to chuck around city traffic with ocassional highway runs
Honda City hybrid comes at a price around 22-24 lakhs on road, Toyota will also command a premium near about that point. Blame the Govt's bizzare GST slab
No doubt the Hyryder/Vitara are absolutely stunning vehicles. Amazing to see the success of the MSILxToyota JV. Waiting for a Hyryder Plus/Dark edition. Debadged and all black. Just imagine!
This car is absolutely beautiful & so efficient. I wanted to buy a VW or Skoda but this toyata is so fuel efficient & beautiful to look at! Don't need a lot of performance as long as it can do 80-100 kms/hr on the highway!
Everybody is excited for strong hybrid but i think mild hybrid is also a very good choice since it claims 21kmpl and it has AWD and bigger bootspace and benefits of an EV...
Good car... If priced well. Should be within 20lac for the top end version on road ( karnataka). But they should also have a more powerful version making at least 150hp with awd.
On paper, this seems like a fantastic product. Great tech and fuel efficiency, and the hallowed Toyota quality assurance. Rear space looks good. A good urban daily commuter if you are not making too many airport runs.
Amazing... 27kmpl mileage.. Makes sense for daily office goers and in scenario when fuel is rising exponentially.. Also, good to see most modern features available in the car..
Very good alternative for a family man who needs a reliable car for weekend rides. Clearly not meant for enthusiasts. When the turbo counterparts fail after 5 or 7years these na and hybrid engines will run strongly. That's the point. Reliability. I agree that ,they could have broughy 1.4 boosterjet engine with these models to compete with korean turbos.may be in next update we will get that.
Sunroofs should always have a proper close lid from inside and not this net like lid. Why would anyone want light/sun rays inside the cabin all the time.
The sun blind folds up in the rear when retracted, if thicker material would be used then It's really difficult to accomodate Panaromic sunroof Sunblinds in complete retracted mode.
I drove a stong hybrid Toyota Hyryder recently for some 100 odd kms but the battery charge doesn't go more than 2-3 bars (On screen). Is it normal and will it ever go full ? Need your expert comments.
For city this may be best car but needed plug in hybrid too. However for a highway use still diesel win here absolutely no competition as it can achieve 20 plus average easily with good amount of torque to tackle difficult situation.
Hybrids are very important for our country mainly for hilly areas like Himachal where I live because electric technology need a lot of improvement and can't be trusted yet
This is a great product from Maruti/Toyota. Only thing I feel missing is the AWD with AT in strong hybrid. I hope in future facelifts it comes in and I will be more than happy to upgrade to this. 👍 Please Toyota/Maruti, you have taken so long and have brought in an almost perfect product. Why not go the whole hog and add AWD AT to strong hybrid?
Thanks for the feedback, Toyota call the transmission ecvt, its not the belt and pulley system like a regular CVT but basically a sun and planetary system that also offers an infinite amount of gear ratios.
How much better would this car be if they actually offered the top model without a sunroof, so that there's head room in the back and less heat in the cabin, a larger boot (not a tiny 255 L) so that you aren't choosing between luggage space and the hybrid system. After test driving and loving this car these 2 issues were deal breakers. Being able to recline the rear seat a bit more and window shades at the rear would also be great touches. I love that Toyota doesn't force a horrible ADAS system on you.
So you wanna buy this car for mileage n Highway use. Fair enough. Where does your luggage go? 255L boot space is a bummer. This would be an excellent city car but so is Nexon EV, ZS & Kona. 22L otr can't be considered a mass market hybrid yet.
Can this vehicle be charged by EV only or is it the petrol engine which works as a generator. Also what about the build quality , is it toyota like or is it Maruti like .
I recently bought this car and 2 weeks before I met with an accident on mumbai pune highway with an Breeza 2022 we were safe only one dent was came at back and Breeza's bumper glass pillars were collapse..... best build quality
Pay that price (read tax) to drive on those Bangalore roads seen in the video duh. How well can the flimsy sun shade stop the car from getting hot inside in summer?
first glimpse seems like TATA harrier, but new generation suvs getting more compact which is reducing the legroom space for 2nd row. in near future we wont be able to experience big suvs in order to save more tax. but still a good move in the market.
I recently got a chance to Drive a Mazda CX5, wooow absolutely blown away. The design, features, handling and most importantly, the interior quality is absolutely spectacular..😍😍😍😍😍😍 That's how a mid size crossover should feel and drive like..It's the bench mark..
The point they are trying to put forth is clear. If u want something that u could tread along some real bad patches with tricky/slippery terrain then go for the awd version. If u are looking for fuel efficiency, then it has given u strong hybrid. Adding awd will increase the weight and reduce efficiency. Yeah the awd could also have a turbo version for some enthusiasts. But I don't think both the companies had that in mind. It is all about meeting the bare minimum necessities. I would wait for the next update. This gives us hope to see more hybrids in the market.
Toyota and Suzuki should gives us another option. That the option of 1.4 boosterjet turbo petrol on hyryder / grand vitara with the option of both manual and automatic transmission with AWD configuration as standard.
