@@ChipDamageMike So much help! The FF game library is so complicated, I didn’t know where to start. Also, just picked up Lost Odyssey on your recommendation. Really looking forward to this one!

I had a great time with gaming this year. Got both the PS5 and Series X after missing out on em. I played a lot this year. To start off, I'm super glad you've given Xenoblade a try. Xeno is my favorite RPG series, and Xenoblade 3 was easily my most hype game of the year, and is my personal game of the year. I'm not even going to elaborate, because not an inch of this game should be spoiled, just know, it is THE game to play after you have the first two Xenoblade games under your belt. On a different note, I too took a bit of a Souls plunge myself this year. I didn't go as hard and marathon the series, but I played Elden Ring after previously only playing Dark Souls 1 and I loved Elden Ring. Easily my runner up for Game Of The Year. After Elden Ring, I went on to play the Demon's Souls remake on PS5 and man did I love it. It may honestly be my favorite so far, I found it brilliant and loved the structure. Demon's Souls almost reminds me of Mario 64. The Nexus is like Peach's castle and the Archstones are like the paintings and I found this just really fun. Make some progress here, jump out, go to another Archstone. Hooked me, greatly. Currently, I just started BloodBorne and man it's first impressions are high. Only about 10 hours in at the moment, but I'm loving it. Bayonetta 3 was an interesting one. I'd say it's a solid 8/10, but it DID just feel a little disappointing. For how long this game took to come out, and after the horrible taste in our mouth's Babyaslon's fall's left us, I hoped Bayonetta 3 would surpass 2, but it just came out as a solid game, with some snags. I think the giant demon summoning was okay. I feel like it would have worked better in the actual Scalebound, as a opposed to being sort of stapled into a Bayonetta game. But that's just me, I did enjoy Bayonetta 3, but I was a bit let down. Not sure how I feel about that upcoming spin-off based off the hidden chapter. Seems cute, but not TOO interesting, to me. On the flipside, Sonic Frontiers was a very pleasant surprise to me. Not perfect, but easily the most I've had with a 3d Sonic game in years. I loved the more somber and action focused tone. I know that may be contentious, but I prefer Sonic when it's action focused and heroic as opposed to being more lighthearted and focused on comedy. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were a good time, I've been very critical of Pokemon in the Switch era, as I feel it has not delivered nearly as well. However, I had a great time playing Scarlet, especially with my friends. However, I'd like to bring attention to another Pokemon game that came out this year, that is pretty similar to Scarlet. Pokemon Legends Arceus. I loved this game, more so than Scarlet. I heavily recommend it. Cool single player focused, story focused Pokemon game set in the past. I loved it and find it to be a breath of fresh air from most other Pokemon games. God Of War Ragnarok was another great time for me. I will say, early on I do think it has some pacing issues, but it really picks up. Won't go far into it, again, this one is best unspoiled as much as possible. Another great video! Thanks again for the continued awesome content!

God I loved Demon’s Souls, you really hit the nail on the head. It hooked me in a way few games ever have. Sonic Frontiers and Arceus are both on the backlog for 2023 for me, as I’m currently hooked on Xenoblade! I’m really loving it, and it’s easy to see it’s quality. I’ve heard many complaints that it got snubbed at the Game awards, but I honestly think most normies are just intimidated by games like these nowadays. Thank you for watching, your thoughtful comment, and have a Happy New Year!!!!

@@ChipDamageMike Glad you're loving Xenoblade! Definitely true though, Xeno in general from Gears, to Saga, to Blade has always been way too much of an acquired taste for some people, and isn't given the chance it deserves. Hope you have a great 2023, Happy New Year, and thanks for the reply!

Always enjoy your videos, no matter the subject! :) Haven't played or bought either of this year's top games yet (God of War Ragnarok or Elden Ring). I try to avoid paying full price for games and usually wait for a sale, unless it's a collector's edition or will never go on sale (aka Nintendo games). Luckily, some new releases were quickly discounted days before Christmas, so I did get them at half price (Valkyrie Elysium and Tactics Ogre Reborn), but FF7 Crisis Core Reunion wasn't on the sale list. Only new release I played this year was the TMNT Cowabunga Collection, and even then, the only game in that collection I played was the first NES TMNT game, and I only played it for a bit. I did watch a full playthrough of God of War Ragnarok and The Calisto Protocol, two games which I am interested in. Unfortunately, I have zero hype for Elden Ring, but I still plan on buying it later when it's cheaper, lol. Speaking of the Xenoblade games, I have all three of the Special Editions on the Switch except for Torna (damn scalpers), but I did 100% Xenoblade Chronicles X on WiiU and greatly enjoyed every second of that game. I prefer a player created character as I am addicted to MMOs with that level of customization. As a kid, I played just about everything, including sports games and racing games, and I was going to get some sports games at some point, like MLB The Show 22, but I got the PSVR Ironman bundle on discount this year and have been enjoying that instead (along with a bunch of other PSVR games like Star Wars Squadron and Ace Combat 7), so that's where most of my game time went into, lol VR gaming just blew me away and I'm excited for more, even if I'm late to the fun, but it's the next evolution of gaming if you ask me.

If you ever do play Elden Ring, I hope you enjoy it! And while don’t think VR will ever become the dominant way to play games, I certainly do enjoy it! I think I will play Xenoblade X this year, but probably after I finish the mainline trilogy. Loving it so far! Thanks for watching, commenting, and have a Happy New Year!!!

My game of the year was the new Kirby, it was a lot more than I expected. Sonic Frontiers is a close 2nd and Stray is my 3rd. But if I count older games that I finished this year, I have to put Monster Boy in 2nd place, and Death’s Door completes the Top 5.🤘 Btw, I really like your talks, have you ever thought of a podcast? I’d listen to it.

Both Kirby and Sonic are on my to-do list LOL I thought I would get both day one, but life happens and never got around to them, despite really wanting to play them. At least in Sonic Frontier's case, the longer I wait, the more updated the game will be, so I don't mind waiting a bit. I LOVED the demo of Kirby, but it came out in a busy season for me. Podcast? Maybe one day! Thank you so much for watching and commenting, and Happy New Year!!!!!!

Crisis Core rocked my socks off! Zach's new VA made me cringe, Japanese VA was switched on within mere minutes and for only $50 on PS5, it was near the top of the top for 2022.

Elden Ring was the best this year. Such an amazing game, cannot believe how much work they put into that game. I’ve also been playing lots of PC ports Crusader Kings and Mount & Blade Bannerlord, I’m really glad I got a chance to play them as I don’t own a PC.

Good vid! I think 2023 will be a great year for gaming! I'm very excited for the free updates for No Man's Sky coming in 2023! I think 2023 will be the biggest and best year for No Man's Sky so far and continue to show why No Man's Sky is one of the best comebacks!

I didn't play anything current this year, but was rather busy with retro gaming or I attacked my backlog. Thanks to you I finally started with Death Stranding and you were right, it's a lot of fun! Kojima is a mad genius! :) If you have never played "Limbo" or "Inside" then try these short, very intense games. Otherwise I recommend "What Remains of Edith Finch"... short, exciting, heartwarming! As a big Blade Runner fan, I was totally disappointed by Cyberpunk! The story and the characters were very ...i dont know... generic and boring?! They could have done so much more with the story. One of the biggest, if not the biggest, disappointment for me when it comes to video games. I've been waiting for this for years and ended up putting in well over 100 hours. Was it all worth it? no! But my god the atmosphere of the game is just spectacular! Because of this, you might want to finish the story and then wait for the updates/DLCs to arrive. Then play it again, hopefully this time around with more interesting things to do. :) take care mike!

What Remains of Edith Finch remains one of my favorite indie games of all time! I may finish Cyberpunk one day, but the Xenoblade trilogy is probably going to take me a while to finish! Happy New Year and thanks for watching!!

Loved Elden Ring this year, had a buddy over like 3 times a week to play it till we fully completed it haha. Crisis Core Reunion is also pretty solid, as long as you like the original, you'll like the remastermake. Also the Jojos game had more depth then I first thought that it would. Spent a lot of the time re going through the Legacy of Kain series and had a blast. Overall pretty good year for gaming 👍.

Nice! Definitely was a good year for gaming imo as well. Legacy of Kain is still a series I need to tackle, as I’ve only ever beaten Defiance, despite it actually being the last of the series lol. As always thanks for watching and happy new year!!!
