The RMZ is a really good bike. If most people step away from the magazine shootouts and just realize that you get a cheap, reliable, great handling bike for peanuts. The Suzuki is so easy to start that it only becomes an issue if you can't use the clutch or ride hard enduro type trails. It handles like a dream and has a very easy to ride engine. Not to mention you get the sweet KYB stuff. The relaxing of the engine in the frame (remember to also loosen the swing arm pivot) and re torque of the engine mounts is crucial. I use lower specs from Kawasaki like you mentioned.
You said the Suzuki is heavy. It's 1lb lighter than the Yamaha. Suzuki: 233 lb. Yamaha: 234 lb. Fact. Also the Suzuki is almost $1000.00 dollars less at full retail.
According to the google your weight numbers are correct but MSRP shows a $600 difference not $1,000. But if you listen in the video I state that the RMZ is heavy when putting it on the stand but doesn’t feel that way on track and it’s actually very nimble. A bikes weight in the pits means nothing. It’s about how it feels on track! At no point was there the intention to bash Suzuki. I really enjoy riding them. Just giving honest feedback on my experiences. Cheers mate🤙🏻
@@granttaylorvlogs No worry. I've heard other reviews claim the Suzuki is heavy, but it isn't. I don't know why they say that. Be cool to do your own weight off with a scale on your vids, though. I've also heard that Suzuki's can be bought cheaper than retail, whereas Yamies are more in demand so its harder to bargain down with a dealer. Overall your video was excellent. Didn't mean to discount your content.
@@easternyellowjacket276 no worries at all man you’re good. I almost bought a Suzy to race ax but ended up with a good deal on a gasgas. Really like the suzys
Got a brand new 21 rmz 250 last month and I absolutely love it. I'm 6'1" and weigh 185 with all my gear on and the suspension is perfect for me right off the bat. Softened the front forks a little bit and it's even better. But yeah I think Suzuki is designed for bigger and taller riders imo
pity about the Go Pro but thanks for comparison, I have had 2 YZ250f's a 17 & 19 and they are awesome bikes , just thinking about buying an RMZ250 just to ride something different . Anyway good job , cheers
the rmz is a fun bike because of the lack of power compared to the other brands it allows you to manipulate the bike more and ride it much harder. That being said; if you're on a track with decent sized jumps straight out of corners then you'll have to focus a lot more on momentum and clutch than the other brands.
Yeah very weird how difficult it was. I do know sometimes bikes are just lemons. So it is possible that not all are that way. But that one Inparticular was definitely tough
I’m doing play riding pretty serious, I seem 2 be the fastest rider @ maybe the biggest ORP in country. Turkey Bay off road park. I bought a leftover 19 rmz250, cheap. I’m 25 bikes into my old, but still going strong life of riding sense 1979. I’m 6’ 230 Lb. The front is harsh at 1st. It does soften up some. I don’t ride my woods 2001 yz250 that much sense buying the Suzuki. I enjoy the extra money I’ve saved buy the rmz
both have plenty of power. Yamaha has more bottom end and Honda had more top. I feel Hondas have a easier to ride chassis. But it also comes down to rider preference.
@@aivorebane3050 somebody is for sure reading the dyno wrong or reading the info presented wrong. I've ridden both and Honda has more bottom, mid and top. I'm not bashing Suzuki, I've always been a Honda/Suzuki guy (hints why I rebuilt a rm250 for the channels project bike) I just wish they'd make some updates.
Yamaha's acceleration is So Perfect, While Suzuki is very bad when accelerating to shoot but Suzuki's Engine is Very Good for engine endurance, Suzuki and Kawasaki are betterthe Suzuki Kawasaki is now much more developed than the Suzuki Which Still Uses the Suzuki Engine Kick Starter Full of characteristics how to open the gas to get good acceleration Yamaha and Suzuki are much different when opening the gas to get maximum power.
@@josephforcino6399 The engine is less competent for racing. It is very weak. The engine does not have a good shot. The motor is very slow of all Japanese products. .many teams do not recommend using it, because there are so many shortcomings, I have thought that the Suzuki manufacturer does not have any progress, you see that Kawasaki has been very left behind for the past 20 years, but Kawasaki is able to fix all of these shortcomings, and has .Many variants of dirt bikes have more versions, and now Kawasaki is the best manufacturer at the moment, Suzuki is so ridiculous why they don't have electric starters. Three other products from Japan Honda Yamaha Kawasaki are vying to make electric starters and engine designsWhat's more superior, I can't stop thinking that the Suzuki manufacturer is very ridiculous, so I don't think Rmz is recommended for racing. more suitable for daily adventures.
Great Explanation bro. Im just about to start MX so im gonna start with suzuki until i Get better then imma Upgrade. U got a new Subscriber from Philippines!
