One of the things I really abhor is all the shiny black plastic; one of the things I adore (really appreciate) is the 2nd-row convertible bench seat. Acura and Honda should be applauded for offering this on their top trims, unlike most of the other brands of 3 row SUVs, which force you into captains chairs if you want the very top trims. Ticks me off so much!

I was convinced I was going to get a Honda pilot elite because I like the panoramic sunroof. It’s reliability and the removable middle seat of being that you have to pay almost 55 grand and this bass includes a panoramic sunroof and removable middle seat. Might as well just get the base MDX very excited and I noticed that they both have 18.5 gas tank so there really isn’t a reason why not to get the MDX🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

We have a 2022 MDX w/ Advance pkg. The 'True Touchpad Interface' has a bit of a learning curve and can be annoying at times. It doesn't have a touchscreen like the prototypes did because of supply chain shortages due to covid. Major improvement over the last generation's terrible dual screen infotainment system. It has really good handling for an SUV it's size. Would definitely recommend for the comfort, style, reliability, handling, space, and safety.

You did not mention that the car can self drive and steers itself on the highway. My 2023 Acura RDX Advance does just that; accept often time my car drives like a drunken sailor so I take over the wheel. Nevertheless I love my RDX and would recommend it to everyone
@jsfbay1
@jsfbay1 Год назад
So it's true that Acura's lane tracing is lacking compared to other brands (even mainstream brands like the Korean twins, Telluride & Palisade)? That's too bad 😞 However I'd still take the RDX over anything else in it's class, and the MDX likewise (though I must say that the Mazda CX-90 is a very compelling vehicle - it's too bad it's not particularly quick as I think we were all hoping for BMW-like I6 turbo performance.)

The tail lights on the A-Spec look shaded (the white brake light doesn’t appear as white). Is there a rail light wrap or something on the A-Spec model that gives the tail lights more of a sportier appearance?
@MtnRoads
@MtnRoads Год назад
The A-Spec does get a blacked-out sportier exterior according to Acura that is specific to that trim. I believe the shaded lights are a part of that trim specific look. Hope that helps. Thank you for the question and appreciate you dropping in and commenting!

Very well done, thank you. You gave super detailed information, but can I ask a favor? Does the MDX Type S w/Advance pkg have everything the top non-Type S? @@MtnRoads All the MDX/RLX/NSX Sport Hybrids had the same EV components matched with V-6 engines (same city/combine/hwy mpgs). All three vehicles were not big sellers because folks didn't understand Sport Hybrid=more power & improved handling compared to the opposite of Eco Lexus Hybrid=higher mpgs with waaaay less performance. The Pandemic hit and gas prices hit under $2 a gallon in my town and no-one wanted hybrids compared to gas/diesel F-150 or V-8 full size SUVs. It was too late for Acura to jump back into the hybrid game when things opened back up again and gas prices were 3X- 4X higher a year or two later.

Can it run on regular gas even though it recommends premium ?
@MtnRoads
@MtnRoads Год назад
I'm NOT a mechanic, so take this how you will. You can, but I WOULDN'T recommend it. First, you wont be getting the full performance of the engine. Second, ECUs can be tuned to use a specific octane fuel, using a lower octane could cause engine knock which over time could cause engine damage. If the shop finds out your using lower octane fuel you could void your warranty. Personally, I always use the recommended fuel. I'd also encourage you to ask around about it and see what else you can find out. I hope this answered your question in a round-about way. Appreciate you dropping in and asking!
